I can’t recall ever having bad Mediterranean, however, this place was pretty terrible. The veggie platter is terrible. It’s a mush pile of vegetables in a lake of water and oil. The garlic sauce and tahini were inedible, at best. The falafel are mini sized, which is probably a benefit for a falafel sandwich, but a disclaimer would have been nice. Nothing stood out as being good. Very little was edible. Although I dislike wasting food, most of the order ended up in the trash :(

Finally tried zakis, this new zabiya halal Mediterranean grill in our neighborhood. I enjoyed the food quite a bit. We carried out an order for dinner. The food was prepared quickly and with all the extra instructions done accurately. I ordered the chicken shwarma wrap and my wife ordered the gyro sandwich. Both were very good. Chatting with the owner while waiting for the food. He was very friendly. Really good quick, easy, and cheap place for lunch or dinner. I will definitely be back.

Got the lunch special and the chicken schwarma plate as carry out. Food was completely unseasoned. I had to add salt and black pepper. Portions are small. Rice and pita were stale and boring. Contrary to a couple posts, food did NOT appear fresh. Strongly advise against going as there are a ton of better places not too far from this one.

Excellent place tasty delicious chicken and falafel and rice and salads. Amazing service and great soups. Neat and clean the place is and tremendous location. Reasonable priced for delicious food. I like the fact that they are halal and all the meats are well taken care of. God Bless you guys.

DON’T GOHERE. What the total f**k. This place is horrible. I ordered food for take out. The food was completely dry. I got the combination platter. The gyro meat was super dry, the kufta was a tiny dry thing, the falafel tiny and dry, and chicken shwarma had no flavour and super dry. So mad I paid $ 12 for this garbage.

If a place says they open at certain time they should be open by that time. I wasted half of my lunch walking over here and when I get to the door it’s still locked. 20 minutes after they were suppose to be open. I also tried calling ahead of time to place an order but they wouldn’t pick up their phone either.

Disappointing. The food is not fresh and is mediocre. There are too many other great options for Mediterranean food. Service is poor. We will not return.

Second time trying them. Sooooo good. everything is fresh, fresh, fresh. Friendly staff and really good prices. The platters are huge, enough to feed two people in my opinion — at lunch time :) FYI the trees kind of block the sign and if driving East on Roosevelt it’s on the North side of the street, easy enough to drive around the block on the next street, took about 2 minutes. I haven’t ordered dessert, but they have the most amazing looking lemon cake. Might just get that next time by itself.

It says open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. I am here and it is 10:05 and the man refuses to open up the door for service. I guess I won’t know how the place is

First time coming here! Very very good if you are around the UIC area and want Mediterranean food! We went towards closing, but they were very accommodating to us and very nice! We ate at the restaurant and they gave us pitcher of water so we did not have to get up from the table while we were eating, and gave us more sauces to try. They were also all GOOD! Got the Kufta Kabob Basmati Plate(Sides: Hummus & Cucumber Salad), and a side of Falafel. Generous portions, everything tasted amazing! Fresh, and the meat was not dry! They cook it when you order it! Baklava was very very good too! Highly recommend!

I ordered a salad from Zaki today and it was delicious! The aroma makes you want to keep eating even after you’re full! I would definitely come here again. Yum!

Delicious fresh Mediterranean. I’m a tabbouleh fan, and their’s is top notch. Hummus good too. Seems like a very new restaurant. I think the menu could we tweaked to include an offering of just sides(my favorite part).

Ordered through grubhub since this is my first time placing an order here. The place is huge and clean. When I came here, it was empty, no customer, probably because I came around 2pm ish. For entrée, i ordered the combo platter and the chicken shawarma salad bowl. The taste was good. The beef gyro slices were yummy. The falafel was good. My husband was pretty much happy with his food. I was pretty upset with my salad because there wasn’t enough dressing in the salad. It made the salad tasted blah. The chicken was pretty tasty though. I also got the lentil soup and the baklava. Both were yummy. I will definitely go back to this restaurant. Although next time I will make sure they put enough dressing.
