Every time I go in, they are always out of something I want. Few times it was a specific topping. The last time I went they were out of VANILLA yogurt and few of the yogurts were«watery.» How can you have a yogurt shop without vanilla yogurt?

They have really good toppings and flavors. They are never really busy. My family loves it.

Our whole family loves this place. It’s never super busy, the flavors are delicious, and we love the chocolate hard shell. Bonus: they have frequent punch cards.

My family likes this yogurt shop. Lots of toppings to choose from including fruit. I wish there were sizes to choose from instead of the one giant cup but I get that they want you to make a big serving(because they charge by the weight), and they do offer lids to take your leftovers home. Our family of four ends up spending over $ 20 per trip so we only go maybe once a month. Outdoor seating is nice too.

I don’t need hundreds of topping choices, I just need to know if the hot fudge is good. I have been here a total of 3 times now. First time was fine, they had my flavor and hot fudge. Yeah. 2nd time they were out of vanilla and out of hot fudge. Really? The place wasn’t even busy.(As in we were the only customers.) After the 3rd time I decided the price was definitely NOT worth it. Yes, they are closer to me… but that is seriously the only draw about this place. Frozen yogurt is frozen yogurt. And since I am being honest here, my homemade frozen yogurt is far and away better(and made with actual yogurt.)

I’d definitely say it’s the best in town! Spacious, clean & inviting shop. SO many toppings to choose from. My favorite being the 4 – 5 different fresh chopped fruits always stocked & not mushy/gross looking ever. The boysenberry sorbet is delish!

Yogurt is okay, but not great. Tastes very ice crystal-y, which is not what I like to have in my yogurt. Their toppings selection is huge, however, and this makes up for it.

Clean and the yogurt selection is plentiful. Self serve. If you can resist filling your cub, pricing is very reasonable. The young staff is always smiling.

Good selection of goodies, everything looked & tasted fresh. We went with our 2 kids on a Wed. night around 7 and the place had a couple other people in there so it wasn’t busy. Price was good & the kids enjoyed it. We will go again.

This joint is pretty darned good. I’d say it’s my second favorite fro yo place in town, behind Gelayo. The flavor selections are great here. There’s always a couple tasty fruit ones. And the swiss chocolate will knock your socks off. They had a bit of a strange flavor when I was here last-cranberry orange carrot. Let me tell you, it is amazing! And no carrot flavor, an added bonus lol. They have a huge selection of sugary toppings, including«ET’s favorites» which I thought was stinkin’ adorable(Reese’s pieces btw). There isn’t a whole lot of fruit selection which is unfortunate, and the fruit that is there-if it’s been refilled which it’s not always-it can be a bit rough looking. There’s four or so hot sauces available and probably 20 other cold ones as well. The whipped cream is hidden in the drink fridge by the door, just fyi! It’s very spacious inside, lots of seating in and out, and the bar is nice to sit at. It’s very very blue inside, a bit overwhelming to be honest. They do have free wifi! The employees here are a bit on the lame side. Some of the toppings aren’t always stocked well and there’s usually a mess on the bar. And when I was there once, an employee was going around with sample cups trying the flavors out, while customers were waiting to pay. All in all, this is a great place to try out at least once!

Best place in town! Huge shop and best selection of toppings, including lots of fresh fruits. I dont know what the complaints are about they are by far the cleanest shop in town. Their employees, mostly college kids are super nice and friendly, i always get a welcome or a hello, and usually the owners are there helping out or chit-chatting with the patrons. I love it! It is my favorite Yogurt shop around. Thanks Brain Freeze!

They weigh your cup after you put everything on, and you pay for it. Not enough fruit choice…

I really don’t know what all the bad reviews are about for this place. They have a nice clean shop right on the corner for a good view, outdoor seating, reasonable prices and most importantly pretty damn good froyo. They mix up the flavors like every other place in chico but have more machines than most others and more toppings and flavors, etc. The people working here are pretty chill and it’s just good yogurt. No complaints here.

Yogurt tasted very good but is too soft when dispensed and already beginning to melt by the time you get your toppings on and pay. $ 10 for two basically medium sized frozen yogurts with light toppings is overpriced. What’s up with the tip jar at the register? This is self serve yogurt. Customer fills the yogurt cup, adds the toppings and even sets the cup on the scale to be weighed. Employee is just ringing up the sale and for that expects a tip??? Even asked her what I’d be tipping for and she replied for cleaning up people’s messes and refilling the dispensers. The purpose of tips has gotten lost somewhere along the line. Tips are for service employees who go above and beyond in performance of their service. Tips aren’t for doing the primary tasks of your job. As you can see, the high prices coupled with the inappropriate tip jar lowered my opinion of this business.

I’ve never really liked Jon & Bön’s yogurt, so after discovering all of these newly established frozen yogurt places in Chico, I decided to try them all before I leave Chico for the school year. I was surprised by(1) how continuously busy this place was, and(2) how many children were there. Then, after observing the WIDE selection of toppings, I got it. This is a kid’s dream! As for myself, I was definitely impressed with the selection. After having visited both Gelayo and Yo Chico!, I appreciated the variety of gluten-free toppings. However — and this just might have been when I visited — Brain Freeze didn’t have a very wide selection of fruit toppings. Just strawberries that looked a little bruised.(From being grabbed at by little hands? Who knows.) I also appreciated that Brain Freeze had non-dairy, sorbet options. For someone who suffers from multiple food allergies, I personally appreciated their attempts to be inclusive. Now, for the reason I’m only giving this place three stars(instead of four): I didn’t see any advertisements about their yogurt having cultures in it. The reason I love frozen yogurt so much is because it’s(supposed to be) healthier for you — but the cultures are a big part of that. So, Brain Freeze receives three stars from me for either their lack of advertisement, or their lack of actual cultures.

DON’T BOTHER!!! I went here and will not go back, the line was out the door and there was only one person at the cash reg. There were cups everywhere. You can only get one size cup even if you do not intend on getting a lot, not to mention the one chick is rude. It was a Sunday, most people don’t work then so why was there only one girl working the counter, by the time I paid I could have just drank the yogurt. For the concept that it provides of choosing your own toppings the total weight is expensive, just go to Jon and Bön’s!

I’ve actually driven by the Brain Freeze Yogurt in Lincoln, CA many times… so when I heard there was one in Chico I had to go check it out… I was impressed with how clean and open the place is, I liked the variety of frozen yogurt they had available and was happy to see the wall full of colorful toppings to choose from. I’m a creature of habit and my favorite is french vanilla with rainbow sprinkles so I figured for my first trip I’d start with that one and next time explore. I really liked the vanilla is was a perfect sweetness and it was perfect for a hot day! I liked that they weigh the yogurt because at other places when I order a small I still can’t eat all of it, so I like to know I’m in control at Brain Freeze Yogurt The outdoor seating is awesome and I always enjoy being outside and just hanging out so props to Brain Freeze! I will definitely be back!

Stopped off at Brain Freeze with the wife and sister in-law to get some frozen yogurt after a long hot day in Chico. Located in a strip mall — Brain Freeze is an easy location to find with plenty of parking. We walked in and the place is deceptively larger than anticipated with a wall dedicated to candy toppings. They have about 8 — 10 self serve frozen yogurt options with the flavors having more of an American vs Asian profile. So that means more berries, chocolates, etc vs the tarts and tropical fruit flavors. At $ 0.39/oz pricing here is reasonable. Looking over the options decided to get the cremsicle and wild berry. The machines pour at a reasonable rate compared to other places. They have a ton of candy options here but not much if you want either fresh fruit and they don’t have mochi which kind of upset my wife. I think this is the first self serve Frozen Yogurt spot that didn’t have mochi. We paid for our frozen yogurt and decided to dig in. The cremsicle side was ok. Had more of artificial taste than I cared for. The Wild Berry was pretty good — it had a nice blackberry taste and would get that again. The texture here — I have to admit was pretty soupy. I don’t know if it was because it was so busy or what — but it didn’t have good texture to it. As to ratings — yeah I probably would come back — but it’s not a place I crave for. Overall I would say it was a decent enough place and would give Brain Freeze a 3 star rating.
