This place was great! A friend and I were having a gal’s night out and opted for something tasty and close after getting our nails done. Let me break down our experience. The service: Was good, and perfect for what we wanted. We must have walked in the back way(by the fish tanks) because it took a couple minutes for us to find the hostess/waitress. Once seated, she was attentive, but realized that we were pretty low maintenance and didn’t hover. Everything came out quickly and hot. The ambiance: It’s a Chinese restaurant in Chico, so I didn’t have expectations. It was clean, comfortable, and there was music playing in the background. Everything I need/want to enjoy a meal. The food: I ordered the Garlic/Ginger Beef Combination plate. HOLYCOW, it was a TON of food… and only cost $ 10. Everything was perfectly cooked and delicious, and I would have devoured the entire plate if there wasn’t so much of it. When I brought the leftovers for lunch, EVERYONE commented and moaned about how good it smelled. It reheated perfectly and I couldn’t have been more pleased. So yeah… TL;DR: Eat here. The food is delicious and the service is good.

My favorite Chinese food in Chico. They always have great flavors from sweet to really spicy. The wait when dining in or picking up is never long & always prompt. Their customer service is impeccable. I highly recommend!

They were probably the only restaurant open that will also deliver on Thanksgiving and for that they are awesome. However, the food is not really very good.

Just no. Went here on my lunch break since I was craving authentic Chinese. Decided to check this place out since it was close by… Okay first off, the location was sketchy and the décor didn’t help that sketchy feel. Upon walking inside, it felt as though I had entered a restaurant from the 80’s, it looked like something from a movie. I walked up to the counter and didn’t see anyone that worked there. Someone finally came to take my order. All I got was the fried rice and chicken chow mein. It was brought out pretty quick, which was nice, but the lack of flavor in the food ruined that for me. My chow mein was just gross. The chicken didn’t look or taste like chicken. The fried rice also was just as lackluster. Needless to say, I didn’t eat even half of my food. I’ll probably never go back here.

I only ordered 1 item for take out(mu shu chicken). The order was ready when I arrived, which was great. The main part of the review is the food. The chicken portion was relatively good, a bit watery, but overall decent. The bad part was, that the rolls that you wrap the chicken in, were kind of hard. Many places I have been always serve very fresh and soft ones. The last disappointing part of my food was that normally mu shu chicken is served with plum sauce, which it said it came with. I got home, and they had given me soy sauce. Which really sucks when you were looking forward to something that tastes completely different and has a thicker texture. Overall, I think it is pretty decent Chinese food for Chico. I would give it another shot.

I don’t ever recommend getting the wonton soup. It was absolutely horrible. Wish i had taken a picture so you can see why it was so bad. The chow mein was somewhat soggy. The fried rice was okay. The crab cheese fried wontons and orange chicken were good though. Overall, it wasn’t too good of a first time experience.

The first time I walked past their kitchen the chef had a bucket of rice by the garbage outside. His hands were digging in the bucket and throwing something away. It didn’t look sanitary. I shrugged it off. However, the next time I walked past the cook was picking his nose in broad daylight, shamelessly wiping boogers on the wall. Again, it wasn’t sanitary. Now every time I walk past all I can see is that man picking and flicking boogers. Not my idea of good wanton soup. Never ever eating there.

Amazing. Every. Single. Time. The portions are GENEROUS and always fresh. The lunch/dinner special Kung Pao Shrimp is my go to. Can’t go wrong with this place!

I loved the chicken chow mein! It wasn’t even the main item in my dish, but it was great. I usually don’t like this dish because it’s often very greasy. But this one wasn’t and it had a great chew to it. The texture in the noodles was chewy and it had been sauteed with fresh garlic. I would come back just for more of the chow mein. The egg roll and crab cheese puff were OK, but nothing memorable. The pork fried rice was also pretty good. Again, not too greasy. It could have had a bit more pork though. The lemon chicken was OK too. It’s not too sweet and there is definitely a lemon flavor in the sauce. It was my first time trying lemon chicken, but I think I’ll stick with orange for next time. The venue itself is open and clean. I wonder if they get a lot of customers though. It seems to be kind of out of the area. Great place to stop by before or after a movie at Cinemark. My server was kind and always filled my glass of water before it ran out.

Gingers is amazingly delicious prices are just right not too expensive. Except it’s way too hot in the restaurant. So instead we get it to go. But other than great food.

I came in here just looking for a decent fast Chinese lunch stop. What I found was an astounding orange chicken. This chicken had good pieces of Orange rind and chilis, well breaded and perfectly saucy! Combine this with a plate of pork fired rice that was well seasoned and not too oily. The service was first rate and prompt. And to top it all off was that I got a good fortune. I don’t know what the negative reviews expected I got generous portions and great service. I wish I had a place like Ginger’s where I live. Austin

Not the best Chinese place in Chico, but also not the worst. They do have really good deals if you don’t want to get a bunch of plates and share. You get what you pay for here. I got the cashew chicken dinner special. The chicken was really fatty and the sauce tasted weird, but I did really like the fried rice. Probably won’t come back.

If you’re looking for quick Chinese take-out, skip the drive thru and come here instead. Less expensive, fresher, much tastier food than Panda Express. Order before you come in using their convenient online ordering system. My order has always been correct and ready when promised. If you decide to eat in, you will enjoy a friendly staff and quiet atmosphere. Most of the food here is good. I don’t recommend the egg rolls out fried prawns though. They’re a little dry unfortunately.

This is the best in town. We haven’t been able to find a good Chinese food restaurant where we currently live so when we come into, we try to stop here. Lunch is cheap. It is only $ 6.25 for orange chicken with hot and sour soup, fried rice, a egg roll, and fruit. They give you big portions and you will leave filled. Soda will come in a can and don’t come with refills.

This place gets worse every time I come. I’m finally giving up on it. Portions and quality have shrunk. Just had really bad chow mein from here and soggy fried kung pao tofu… I didn’t even get a fortune cookie

True Asian food. The chow mein was the most delicious so far, the orange chicken was to die for, but a little on the spicy side. The fried rice was a little dry, but I’m not complaining. The general chicken made my mouth water. The servers were so kind and checked on us at the right times. I love this place, and I’ll definitely be back.

7÷31÷2013 I *might* return if I get a note from the owner that they will NOT be playing Christian radio during my meal! And… the mixed vegetable dish was the blandest I’ve ever eaten in perhaps 200 Chinese restaurants I’ve eaten. And… no one came by after serving the food to check in with us. And… no offer was made to box up our leftovers, from one of the very few times I did not want to finish my meal at a Chinese restaurant. Note to owner: try playing traditional Chinese music. It might increase your business. 8÷20÷2014 Update: I never received an answer to my letter to the owner about playing Christian radio music and the abovementioned flaws in my experience. So I’ve never gone back.
