Great food and service plus the servings just right. This place is well kept and orderly. Parking is no problemo!

I kinda stop writing reviews unless it’s worth writing one and this is one of them. It’s Super Bowl day but had to drive to LA to drop off my nephew and I have a meeting in Palm Springs. I was craving for some Filipino cuisine and this was the closest one before heading to Palm Springs. Honestly, it was the name that caught my attention as their Unilocal rating isn’t the greatest. I ordered the bangus sisig and binagoongan rice. It was so effin’ good! I had a big portion and I just wanted to finish eating it but tummy can only handle so much good food lol. This place was so packed but it was so worth the wait. Highly recommended! Great service too!

SO. I never really thought much of this place since we usually go next door to Guppy House. But let me tell ya, this place is a hidden gem. Everything was tasty. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere is lively. I’m not ‘too’ much in to Filipino food but this definitely hit the spot

Friendly staff. We ordered pancit molo, arrozcaldo, and spaghetti and fried chicken(it was national spaghetti day). The soups were both delicious, super garlicky and of course the spaghetti and chicken is nothing to write home about, but when is it ever? It’s literally spaghetti noodles, can of tomato paste, and ketchup. Can’t get anymore Filipino than that.(I wouldn’t recommend ordering it. Go to Jollybee’s for this.) Am definitely going back to try other entrées. Of course there’s several clans deep in there, that’s simply how we Filipinos roll.

Good food. Presentation is good. Lack of workers, hard to get things like refill, rice, anything… Plenty of times you get the food, but the rice took forever! They forget or never got around to it. Sometimes, there’s only 1 server for the whole room. If you see that, RUN!!!

Decent Filipino food in the area. Portions are big! Everything was delicious! Even though there were many employees, service was a bit slow. Bottom Line, we will be back for more!

If you’re looking for Filipino food, here’s one of the better ones in chino hills. The lumpia is called shanghai lumpianitas rolls. Those are delicious. It’s also inexpensive so you can order a bunch for parties. I’ve also tried their other dishes, the popular one is the crispy kare kare. Basically it’s a fried shank and peanut dipping sauce. There isn’t too much meat on the shank though. The pancit wasn’t what I remembered at parties growing up, but it was good nevertheless. The food is heavy. 3.5 stars.

If you get one thing here, try the Krispy Kare Kare. Oh Damn. The Krispy Pata is so Krispy. The peanut butter sauce is delicious. Sinagang or should I say Sinagangster. Would have given this place a 5, sevice sucks.

This is the only Filipino restaurant in the area that is worth to visit. From the service to the hospitality, all are great! We always get the sinigang, which is sour soup which is made by adding tamarind. We love pork, so we would usually get an array of different types of dishes made with pork. Today, we ordered pork adobo which is pork cooked in soy sauce. We also ordered lechon kawali which is deep fried pork in skin. The Mang Tomas sauce pairs nicely with the fried pork. And gotta have the garlic fried rice to eat with your dishes. At the end, mais con hielo which is corn in ice with evaporated milk, a dessert definitely worth trying. The servers are always making sure that we have all that we need, and they don’t have the look or attitude like I’m bothering them or something. I always get the above normal service when coming here which is always a great feeling. This place is definitely worth a try if you’re looking for Filipino/Asian cuisine. Just mAke sure you have an appetite as it will surely be fulfilled coming to this place!

It was my first time trying Filipino food and this place was pretty good! They were so welcoming when we told them it was our first time trying Filipino food. The adobo rice was delicious and reminded me of a minced pork dish I would have at Chinese restaurants!

The restaurant advertises itself as fusion cuisine. The food just seemed like regular Filipino food(I’m 100% Filipino raised in the Philippines so I can say this). We ordered the small Lumpia they call«Lumpianitas», crispy Kare Kare and Garlic rice. The lumpianitas were served after 15 minutes of waiting. The Kare Kare and Garlic rice were served after 45 minutes to 1 hour of waiting. Loooong wait. The restaurant was not even packed. If you have a lot of time then this is the place for you. The food was okay and the servers were very polite. The time you get your food is just way too long.

As this was my first time trying Filipino food I have no basis to compare this food to. My experience on the other hand was so great. The waitress assisted us to pick some of the most popular dishes I was pleasantly surprised how amazing everything tasted. A must have if you are ever in Chino hills. My favorite was the chicken adobo and the pork sisig so tasty. My mouth is watering thinking about this meal.

It’s not exactly Lola’s cooking. but that’s what makes Green Banana Leaf truly unique. The restaurant itself is clean and modern unlike most turo-turo joints. More importantly, their menu is not only clear but lists English descriptions of each dish(which if you’re familiar with Filipino food is not easy to do). The food is consistently good and presented nicely making it a great place to introduce Filipino cuisine to just about anyone(without scaring anyone off — hello dinuguan). There might be a wait during rush hours but if you know how Filipino food is prepared you would know the amount of ingredients that go into making these dishes. Green Banana Leaf has catered many of my events as well and when clients ask for your caterer each and every single time — you know it’s that good. Though their menu is quite extensive, I stick to my all time favorites: Crispy Kare Kare Stuffed Grilled Squid Lumpia Garlic Rice A perfect combination of traditional and innovative Filipino cuisine — Green Banana Leaf is a modern take on the food I grew up with. Oh and food coma? You can definitely count on that and then some!

My second time coming here and was very disappointed. If you have a lot of time to waste, then this may just be the place for you. As you enter the restaurant, prepare to be ignored. We saw a waitress serving food but acted like she didn’t see us. We actually had to make lots of noises like«Hellooooo!!!» and«we’ve been waiting here to be seated!» in order to get noticed. Upon ordering our lunch, we asked the waiter how long it would take for our order since we had a time limit. He told us it wouldn’t take long and looking around at how many customers were inside, we trusted him. Our food would have taken more than 30 minutes had I not told them to make everything to go since time was ticking. Now let’s talk about the food. I don’t know if the cook is different from the first time I ate here. The food was not good. Like I said, if you have the time to waste, come to this place. As for me and my family, we’re staying very far away!

Best Filipino food in Chino Hills, and even surrounding areas. The food here is sooooooo good ! Our usuals are Garlic Fried Rice, White Rice, Either the Crispy Platter or Grilled Platter, Pork Sinigang, & sometimes pork adobo and Kare-kare.

3.5 stars Not bad! If you have a craving for Filipino food then give this place a try. I recommend; –crispy pata –lechon kawali(note: both these dishes are fried pork, each bite oozed out fatty pork goodness so yes, they are delicious but consuming this often might kill you) :/Just sayin –adobo fried rice –garlic fried rice –halo halo for dessert The price is pretty good since the portions are huge

One of the things that’s struck me about the Diamond Bar/Chino Hills region where my girlfriend’s from is the lack of Filipino restaurants. So, when I found out about the Green Banana Leaf, we decided to come here this past weekend. We ordered an appetizer of the Fried Tofu(huge blocks of the stuff glazed with sukiyaki sauce and topped with konbu flakes — $ 6.50), the Bistek Tagalog(thinly sliced beef simmered in a lemon soy sauce topped with sliced onion rings — $ 12.50), the Crispy Kare-Kare(essentially Crispy Pata — a huge fried pork leg — served with vegetable kare-kare sauce — $ 16.50), a medium side of Garlic Rice($ 3.00), and a dessert of Halo-Halo($ 5.50). As you can see, the menu was a bit on the pricy side, but when the portions are family-size and as delicious as they are, it’s worth it! To be more precise, the Bistek was very tender(I found out later that it’s Kathy’s favorite dish), but the Crispy Kare-Kare… mmm, masarap po!(In Tagalog, it means«It’s delicious!») The peanut sauce wasn’t oily, with plenty of vegetables(bok choy, green beans, and eggplant), and the crispy pata itself had really tender pork that filled me up. We definitely could taste the garlic in the garlic rice, and the tofu was a pretty good appetizer. And the halo-halo was just what we needed on a hot Saturday afternoon. The ambiance in The Green Banana Leaf is quite chill — while I was expecting to see the TVs airing The Filipino Channel(they were turned to Fox Sports 1), the music had a pretty good beat to it. The booths were classy, and I liked the waterfall inside near the entrance. Service was a bit slow — probably due to the large parties going on inside — but they were consistent and helpful. Props to our server(I can’t remember her name, sorry!) for answering our question about how to make dinuguan crispy… what they do here is get their chicharon bulaklak, chop it into pieces, and serve it with the sauce.(Still won’t try it, though — I’m not a fan of dinuguan.) Definitely coming back again to try more of the menu offerings!

BF and I found ourselves in this center the other day, and we wanted to eat lunch. I had just tried Filipino food the other day for the first time at Jollibee, so I suggested we check out a more authentic place than fast food. We were seated immediately for lunch on a Saturday. They were pretty busy, but the service was good. BF ordered the Fried Chicken with Spaghetti, while I went with the Bistek Tagalog and a small side of Garlic Rice. The food didn’t take too long to arrive. Garlic Rice — AMAZING. And small was a good portion for two people, I even brought some home. If you love garlic, order this. Bistek Tagalog — I absolutely loved the lemon soy sauce. The beef tasted great, and the onions were good with it. My only complaint with this dish was the quality of the meat wasn’t that great, so there was a lot of it we picked over. I would definitely like to make this at home though! Fried Chicken with Spaghetti — The chicken wasn’t breaded or seasoned(according to BF) just dropped in a fryer. He didn’t like it, and honestly, it didn’t look appetizing. The spaghetti had more of a BBQ sauce taste to it, not nearly as sweet as Jollibee. He did said he enjoyed that. I don’t live near here, so I doubt I will be back. But i’m glad I tried it, and I will be looking up how to make Bistek Tagalog for dinner.
