I had tostada mix, its was ok but not worth the price. My bf had a LARGE shrimp cocktail, it was in an 8oz cup. His michelada was HUGE40oz mug. I guess they compensated his for the shrimp size. I would say this is a good local spot.

Some people are impossible to please… I was scared to try this place due to this place being burned out with bad food places but surprisingly this place was not bad at all, I feel bad for the new owner who is trying to run a business from a place that has such a bad rep. The shrimp burrito I ordered was amazing and pretty big, the ceviche of shrimp and fish where both delicious, the amount they serve is pretty good for 2.50 if you want more and for it to be served in a actual plate go to a fancy restaurant and pay the price. This is my new favorite Mexican food spot in chino and I will definitely be going back often! For the price and quality of food you receive I highly recommend it to anyone!

I have to first state, that I’m not much of a mariscos lover. However, my husband is an avid mariscos lover, so that’s why we came to eat here in the first place. I was hesitant to go and eat there because there were no cars in their parking lot. It looked desolate, and THAT’S not a good sign for ANY restaurant. Regardless, of my own reservations I caved into my husband’s mariscos sea tooth(lol, did you catch what did there? Lol). Anyways, I was pleasantly surprised at the extra clean atmosphere(trust me, we have walked out of restaurants that were super filthy). In addition, the new owners, are very cordial, and inviting… that’s definitely a two star deserving trait. I must say, that this place is one of the best mariscos place I’ve ever been to(keep in mind, my husband’s love for mariscos, which only means… we’ve visited many, many marisco places). I fell in complete love with their burrito de camarón; SUPER delicious! so is their horchata. artificial or not… it tasted pretty darn good to me! Since then, we’ve been back several times, including a few times alone(don’t tell the hubby lol) but I just love this authentic, salivating causing mariscos place. Their food is delicious, I guarantee you’ll be back. with your significant other or alone haha :)

I used to come to this place when it was«El Robalo», recently, there was a change of owners so I was hesitant to return, I had been craving seafood for awhile now and I figured it was time to try out the new menu. The new owner opened up the kitchen so it’s visible as you order your food, now the place looks a little bigger and better lighted. they kept most of the furniture from previous business which surprisingly is still in good shape, the inside was pretty clean and the door displays an A rating as you go in, I ordered a large shrimp and octopus cocktail and a fish ceviche tostada, the ingredients were fresh, the vegetables diced up in consistent size(I hate when they don’t bother to chop them up properly, it’s a cheap tactic to fill you up with cilantro, onions and tomatoes), the shrimp was a good size. Whole, It seemed like a 30 to me, the octopus however was chopped up randomly, the tentacle pieces were cut in small pieces but as it got close to the body the chunks were pretty large. I was given the tostada right away, which I assumed it was good service at first, but as I removed the tostada shell on top it was obvious that it was because of the lack of ceviche made it easy to just throw out in a second, why 2 tostadas shells when obviously one was mooooore than enough?, it’s not like I was gonna have any left! The ceviche itself wasn’t completely cured on lime juice so it absorbed juices from the onion overpowering any flavor(or lack therof), I was not served any extra limes which I found super odd for a place like this, the cocktail was then brought to me… in a small plastic cup, that blew my mind, I have never seen such a thing, traditionally cocktails are served in a Chabela glass cup, the bowl shape allows you to reach easily inside and mix the ingredients, how the heck do I prepare my cocktail by adding ketchup, chile, lime juice, salt or as I’ve seen some people do, mayo!(Gulp!) it’s just not possible as it was filled to the top crowned by avocado slices, as I check the menu to see if I got what I ordered I see the plastic cup, right there and then I knew it could not be good, a good cook would leave some room to allow for you to add what you like and get it just right. At first, it wasn’t too bad, but once you taste it, the flavor diminishes and the further you go the worse it gets since the bottom part of the cup couldn’t get mixed properly with the rest of the ingredients, i got a horchata drink to try to fool myself into leaving with a somewhat good aftertaste, only to be let down once again with an artificially made Horchata, browsing through the menu I noticed it was a rather small amount of dishes served, they don’t even have Camarones a la Diabla. I give one star because it’s a clean establishment with fresh items, another star for the good service, but they take a hit for the presentation, one for ratio of price against quantity and quality of their food and one more star for the lack of variety, I will not return nor recommend this location.
