My two favorite all you can eat sushi places are Joe’s sushi/sake 2 me on Holt in Montclair and this place. I’ve never had a problem here until yesterday. We had the worst service ever. We had to ask for water 3 times. We finally received our drinks after FOUR of our rolls had already been delivered and consumed at our table. Every single roll we ordered was sloppily thrown together hence, falling apart when we tried to bring it to our mouths. Some of the sushi that is intended to be cold came room temperature and was a bit concerning for a dish that is chilled and raw. We saw our waitress twice and had to ask for service by flagging people down as they rushed past our table. It wasn’t a busy night, I’d say the place was 40% filled at most! I will be taking my business to Joes/Sake 2 me from now on.

SOMUCHRICE. Service is prompt and attentive. Appetizers are okay, but tempura is mushy and flavorless. Sushi has room temperature fish atop mounds of rice. It’s not terrible, but I will not be back.

This place used to be called Genki Sushi, but their restaurant name and menus all say Ozeki, so I’ll leave my review under this business. I previously went to Tomo 7 in Chino for AYCE and loved it there, but we decided to give Ozeki a shot. Unfortunately, this was a bit disappointing. There were a lot of people on Valentine’s Day, but my friend and I got seated at the bar right away. I automatically ordered most of the nigiri. I liked how they had a «fusion sushi» section with garlic izumidai(red snapper), seared salmon, etc. I noticed they had sea bass nigiri as well, which is not common on other sushi menus. However, when I got it, it still had scales and didn’t taste anything like real sea bass. Additionally, each nigiri had wayyy too much rice. Pretty much 1:1 ratio. I was already full after the first round. Not that I needed any more options, but I didn’t see any appetizers on the AYCE menu. Usually I would order a miso soup to end my meal. We didn’t ask though, so we’ll never know. Overall feel of the place felt kinda dirty. Not unsanitary dirty, but the sushi chefs didn’t wipe down the sides of the plates before handing them to us, so I would have sauce or mayonnaise all over my hands. Staff was nice, but most likely won’t come back anytime soon.

Sushi was bomb! They serve bigger pieces than most places, but the service was not good. The staff aren’t friendly… When this place was Genki, the staff was the best… Please work on your customer service skills.

I love this place. The food quality is good The pricing for sushi is reasonable. The service & vibe are top notch. I come here very often & always leave satisfied. All you can eat menu is extensive. If you eat at the sushi bar, the chefs help you with all your questions. One of my favorite sushi places!

This is me and my husband’s go to place since we live 2 mins away. The food is always fresh and the pricing is decent for the quality of sushi. The staff is always friendly and greet you as you arrive. They often have deals on their App and coupons in the mail so you save a few dollars. Our favorite rolls are the Crunch roll, Philadelphia roll, Baked Lobster roll, honestly they are all so good I can’t name them all. I highly recommend this restaurant for a great night out!

3.5 to 3.8. Traditional sushi was great. Roll was mediocre. Staff was friendly, but expected better service from a Japanese restaurant.

I haven’t had time to eat sushi lately and my friend suggested here. I was excited because last time I came here… I loved it! Sushi was fresh! Today also sushi was fresh however. service SUCKED!!! FIRST… there were plenty open seats but waited 30 mins to be seated. The korean ladies moved liked snails. I don’t even think we’ve been greeted. Then… we were finally seated but took some more time to order. No one grabbed to get our filled out order. Finally when waitress cane around she asks if my son(6) will eat… but I told her he ate already but I may have to order later. 30 mins later… just before orders came in… I’ve asked for a round of miso soup for the adults.(3). Of course waitress brought 1 but when I corrected her… she brought out 2 more quite quickly. My son was coughing a bit and I had stuffy nose just a few hours ago and realized we both shouldn’t share food. When miso came my son quickly tried some and kept sipping the soup and I couldn’t tell him no… although he finished soup by the 5 or 6th sip. So I took my friends first since she can place order later after eating. When the bill came… there was an extra charge for miso soup. I didnt mind them charging… if they would have kindly come up to me and have asked… if that miso was for your son? I would have said… to charge if anything and would have explained. I just don’t like people charging and ignoring what charges have been made. 1st step into the restaurant… the korean lady with short hair was rude and looked like she didn’t want to be there.(To be honest… I wouldn’t want to work on Sundays either but work is work.) I felt… service lacked a lot. They were talking crap in korean so my friend and i spoke in korean to show we understood. Soooooo Service is crap! That’s all. I strongly believe Service is the face of restaurants.

We went to Ozeki due to Local Flavors promotion, and were pleasantly surprised to find out that the sushi was pretty good! We got crunchy roll, 911 roll, and spicy tuna roll. They were nicely portioned, and the spicyness level was just right. On top of the sushi, we also ordered combo plates containing mostly teriyaki meats, which were not that good as the sauce were too sweet to our liking. However, the sushi was definitely awesome and we’ll definitely be back!

Can’t figure how this place ever got 4 stars! That’s what got us in, but we won’t be going back. As far as cleanliness, the sushi bar was sticky and had crumbs. The sushi menu was sticky and the soy sauce seemed to be watered down. The sushi was okay, nothing great. The service was okay, nothing great.

First time there last night, and I think I found my new AYCE sushi place. The service was great, and the waitress was very attentive and polite. It was her second day, but she did wonderfully. The rice to fish ratio was perfect, and I liked the size of the rolls. Not too big and not too small; perfect size to be able to try more. The salmon skin hand roll was delicious, too! I thought their baked mussels were pretty tasty as well, but I think it would have been better served hot instead of just warm. Definitely coming back.

My go to every time I am craving sushi. I always get the AYCE because it’s more food for a bargain. The sushi is always fresh and satisfying. Service is fast and friendly. And the sushi chefs are awesome and generous. My favorite is Beau. He is always nice and is always surprising me with dazzling concoctions of sushi. Quant and cozy. And amazing food and service. I highly recommend this place.

3.5STARS I ate a lot, so here’s the lowdown. It was pretty good and I’d come again. I like the smaller portions so that I can try more rolls! It took a decent amount of time to serve us during lunch, so the wait wasn’t too bad. Spider Roll– ok; you could barely taste the soft-shelled crab in there. Spicy Tuna Crunch– yum, get this Monster– this was ok overall. nothing special Mountain– pretty good Baked Lobster– don’t get this, this was full of imitation crab meat on top of it Torch Tuna & Salmon– YES, aburi for the win! Popcorn Lobster– YES, get this. So good, we got it twice. Scallop Crunch– this was good, but popcorn lobster was better. Unagi Tempura– Unagi shouldn’t be fried and it was too sweet. Angry Albacore– Quite tangy, but pretty good. Unagi nigiri– ok Mackarel– not the best, I’ll have to pass.

First time coming here and I have to say it was pretty damn good. The waiter was great. Although food did take a while to get, it was totally understandable since it was busy. Great food and great place to have a good time.

Ok so have to say this place is ridiculous amazing ! Hands down it will go in my favorite list of best sushi places I have been. I happened to be in town for a wedding and just ran into a hole in a wall sushi place I felt like trying out. I didn’t even know they offered a all you can eat !! Most places that offer all you can eat give you small portions or have a lot of rules on the food! This place has to be the best sushi place I’ve been to! The give you a lot of options on the menu and also offer nice normal sizes. They definitely don’t try to rip you off by giving you a small portions. They give you amazing great sizes and Quality As you can see in my pictures this place is amazing and the service was great here too. Wish they had one were I lived I would go once a week. One of my favorite things on the menu was the signatures two peace nigiri. I love this place !!
