I live about 45 min away. I drive by this place once or twice a month traveling for business and make sure I stop by to get lunch every time. I have had Mexican food from all over the valley and this is a good place to get great authentic Mexican food. As you can see most of the reviews are very positive. Ignore the few who gave one star or said this place was terrible. They obviously have very poor taste. try it out for yourself you wont regret it. I wish they were closer so I could enjoy it more often. I’m Mexican american and have traveled throughout Mexico. I know what good authentic Mexican food is. To the person that made the remark that «This place must cater to white folks» That was totally uncalled for and racist. I think that you have no idea what good Mexican food is. Just stick to Taco Bell.

This place is pretty good. Right off 99 in a old Taco Bell building. It also has a drive through for those wanting some quick Mexican food.
The food is good. Think Taco Truck type food. My favorite is the tacos. They are about a buck each, so you can get 3 or 4 of them and a soda pretty cheaply.
Overall, a good place for some good fast food when you aren’t wanting a burger.

Tacos are the best but overall all the food is amazing! Don’t live near but every time we pass by we always have to stop and have some tacos! Great job!

Try the super burrito please with absolutely no hesitation and complete confidence! This place was the bomb dot com !! All the way from the foil to go covers on the paper plate trays !! I would stop here all the time if I lived closer !! I highly recommend it

Great Mexican food. Try the sopes. They are the bomb. Great alternative to fast food when you’re on the road.

Obviously the reviewers before me haven’t had real tacos. This place doesn’t not know what they’re doing. If your hungry and can’t keep going, go next door to Perkos. I’m sure there are 100+ places on 99 that have better tacos than this place!
My brothers menudo was disgusting, tasted like excrement!

There food is alright it ain’t all that don’t trust the other reviews on here. Yes the place is pretty clean but what matters is the service and the way the food tastes. The tacos were ok not nasty but not to die for either.

This is not a fast food chain but it has a drive
thru. We just stopped in because we are at the RV park nearby, VERY glad we did. Hubby had a carnitas burrito which was full of meat & very tasty, I had the chicken quesadilla that was Hugh & very tasty… yum yum yum

One of the better authentic mexican restaurants here in chow. The asada is good quality and the place is always clean.

This place is good for a quick Taco when driving on HWY 99. We tried the carne Asada tacos and they were tasty and authentic. The burrito was salty for my taste and I would recommended it if it wasn’t salty.
Will I stop by if I’m passing again? Yes just for the tacos. Prices are very reasonable tacos are $ 1.30, burrito $ 4.25 reg. and $ 5.50 super.
Meat choice: beef, pork, chicken, tongue, head, carnitas, guts

Excellent food! Had there Ultimate Burrito. I will go back on our next drive to Lodi. The burrito was crunchy in the back from the cilantro, lettuce, and cabbage mix. The beans were perfect. The rive was great and the pork, oh the pork! It was excellent. Give this place a try.

I had the breakfast burrito (egg only-​no meat). So good! Beans, rice, salsa, cheese, and scrambled egg. It was a perfect balance. Not the biggest burrito, but it was only $ 4.50.
I can’t wait to go back!

Terrific & tasty food right off 99. Facility must have been upgraded since the 2014 review expressing concern over the building.
The chicken quesadia ($ 5.50) was excellent. Very tasty.
I got 4 tacos (2 asada & 2 chicken), on each on 2 corn tortillas ($ 1.30 each).
Small (8″ paper plate) refried beans and rice topped off a quick nice lunch

Cheap and much better than going to McD’s or whatever fast food places are on the other side of the 99… Not as amazing as some Mex places I’ve eaten at (but living in LA it’s tough to compete!), however it was clean, people were courteous and boy was it a good price for the quality!
Plus, they had pickled carrots and jalapeños (nice and hot!) made in-​house rather than the canned stuff :)

I was driving back from socal with my inlaws and we needed to stop for a bite. We found Taco El Grullense on Unilocal and decided to give it a try. Its a nice little shop that is inside an old taco bell.
The prices are pretty cheap, but I was unimpressed by the food. I had an asada super burrito, which was pretty mediocre. It wasn’t very big, either. It was a little skinny by taqueria standards. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t anything to write home about. I already forgot what it tasted like!
But, the bathrooms are very clean and the people were friendly. You could do a lot worse as you’re passing through on your way home.

Great pit stop off the freeway! Got the tacos and burritos and kids meals. Food felt authentic and service was clean and good.

Favorite place to stop on the way home when I’m driving up Highway 99. I’d like to try the rest of the menu but I always seem to enjoy the fish tacos. I found in my order 5 miles away the tacos are ready when I got here.

Seriously good Mexican food!
Coming up the 99 and want something other than something from a fast food chain or Denny’s? Give this place a try! I had the combo plate with al pastor and I finished every bite. Next time I get the chance to dine here again I may try something a little more out of the ordinary like tripas (guts!).
The only reason this place doesn’t get 5 stars is the building is a little rough around the edges.
