Denny’s

On the way back from Baja, my buddies and I stopped by here for a bite. We were a bit pooped, and decided on recharging with caffeine. I was famished, so I went with the «Build Your Own Slam» (see photos). The coffee was smooth and delicious, and the food was actually prepared well. The staff was nice and attentive.
The place is located in a not too bad part of town, Chula Vista. They are adjacent to a pretty good hotel that I’ve stayed in before. That time, this Denny’s provided good service as well.
Some Denny’s are bad in service, but this Denny’s serves as a good face to their chain. I would recommend.

I just want to say this is one of the best Dennys we have been to in a long time. Service by our server Danny was spot on and the food was amazing. My brother has special needs and our server Danny took a few minutes out of his time to talk to him and make him feel at home. I appreciate that type of good service from good people.

Food took forever, (came out warm not «hot») portions were skimped when it came to fries and chicken tenders… The «spicy» chicken had no sort of spice in them. Service was slower than normal Denny’s. How does a shake come last (5 minutes after food)? Definitely one of the worst Denny’s I’ve ever been too…
Kim was the server. She was good though, can’t really blame her for portions and food temp when the cooks are taking forever…

ANTHONY is a keeper! One of the kindest, most attentive servers we have ever seen. He is the reason we keep coming back to this Denny’s. The down side is that the last two times we were in the restaurant there were paper menus and food under a couple of tables even though at the time we were in it was not particularly crowded. We’ve been coming to this Denny’s for 10 years and have only noticed the tables not being bused right away over the last 6 months. It’s not enough to stop us from coming back but it is definitely something they need to address.

This is the only Denny’s that my family and I like. We’ve been to others but the food and the customer service is sooo much better here. This is our Denny’s and we’ve been coming her for 15 yrs. and counting.

Poor service. Poor quality. Ordered three dishes, one had hair on it, other 2 were wrong dishes. Ordered over easy eggs, she brought sunny side up, took it back, gave me correct order without the eggs. I ordered chicken potato sizzling skillet. The black pan was cold, broccoli and some of the potatoes were really cold. This place should get checked out or something. Plus, it wasn’t rush hour nor was it busy.

Came in and it took about ten minutes for the hostess to seat us. She was occupied checking guests out. Our server was attentive but the hostess and cashier issue never seems to be resolved when we come in.

If you’re hungry after midnight and you can drive I would say this is the place to go. They will serve you breakfast anytime. I usually go with a server named Eric and his customer service is ¹⁰⁄₁₀. You will never be disappointed. I would give it a 5 star but sometimes if it’s gets super packed you can be waiting a while for your food

We come here about once a month. We always have good and friendly service!
Since we live closeby we try to come before the crowds hit around 8ish.
Today we were greeted by the general manager and he cashed us out.
The coffee is perfect not too strong nor weak just right. My favorite dish is the Philly cheese-​steak omelet but today I went with the country fried steak. It hit the spot!

If I can give this place no stars I would! The manager is the biggest asshole. They need new management as soon as possible. They have roaches and I got a hair in my food NEVER AGAIN WILL I COME HERE

Slowest service ever today. Waitress checked on us once. Had to hunt her down for a refill. Our plates piled up. Waited for ever for our check.
We usually have great service here but today they dropped the ball.
I felt sorry for the people coming in. We walked in when the restaurant was pretty empty.

Always clean, nice servers, good location, they’ve redecorated, cand consistent food. Good for a diner.
Extra note: Our server Martin G was awesome on our last visit.

This was my childhood and go to Denny’s when I was in my teens. We usually stop here after a show at Sleep train on our way home. This evenings stop was unacceptable. I finished my cold «food» before my husbands even got to the table. Plus having transianets walking two and from the bathroom smelling like pee. And hanging out, most definitely in our personal space. I think the staff talked to them more than they did us. My food was gross but whatever, so I ordered an apple crisp and it never came. Then they have the nerve to ask me if I wanted to leave a tip? No way. Plus the whole place smells like old sewer farts. Also, eggs should never be brown. Thanks for ruining my dreams. No I don’t want a box to take home my soggy waffle in. Train your staff and don’t talk about you’re vacation time loud enough so the whole restaurant can hear you.

Best Denny’s ever. Food is always on point. It can get busy, but the staff are nice. This is my favorite Denny’s in Chula Vista.

For those who are not in food service, you are easy to complain about the food, service and the staff, put yourself in thier shoe one day and see what you will say after 8 hours on your feet of trying to please everyone at the same time, we are all human try being able to make their day with a litte respect and understanding, this is the 2^nd oldest profession in the world and the 2^nd most stressful job in the world, figure that!

Worst Dennys ever! This older lead waiter Victor ask if my friends, and me were ready. Then my friend in the corner try to tell Victor his order. Victor told my friend no! Then Victor told him that I had to order first. I told Victor I wasn’t ready. Victor said, «when you’re ready I’ll come back.» I told Victor my friend was ready but I wasn’t, he decided to walk away. Fuck Victor!

The iced caramel coffee is bland, but the Club Sandwich was perfect. Seasoned fries were excellent as well.

Very disappointed in this place. I have been to many Denny’s over the years and this is the worst one yet! My wife and I went there for breakfast a few weeks ago and were not thrilled with the drinks or the food. She was served hot chocolate in a cup that looked like it had overflowed but no one bothered to wipe it. I was served what appeared to be frozen orange juice that wasn’t mixed properly. What happened to the Minute Maid that you guys used to have??? Food was okay but tasted like someone put it together real quick.
I would definitely not recommend this place to others and I won’t be coming back!

Service here lately has literally dropped to barely acceptable. I have lost count as to all the overcharges, errors, and general lack of consideration for a customer. I still eat here on occasion just because of convenience but I hope when they open a new Dennys closer to my area that it’s a lot better and I no longer have to come here.

This Denny’s is always super crowded.
Sometimes the servers are great, and other times the service is horrible. I’ve had more good experiences than bad though. Food is okay.
