The service is terrible! They brought me and my husband our food and it was bad, not as in we didn’t like the food but as in it was expired! It smelled funny and when I called the manager she acted as if it was the taste rather than the expiration date. Instead of apologizing she argued with me and told me if she would to reorder it it will take longer time for the food. I asked her to cancel it. Not so professional

This is the third occasion I’ve eaten at this particular location. Two previous were with co-workers; food & service pretty good. On this occasion it was my sisters birthday and there were like 20 of us, they sat us outside and all was fine. Somehow our server was changed when our food came out there was some mistakes, understandable especially with a large crowd. However, once the food was served, my sister asked for a Bloody Mary. The waiter was pretty rude in saying that there were too many checks and he could get to her ticket. A few minutes later my sister-in law asked to add a juice for her small child, which received the same type of response. I happened to see the manager on my way to restroom. The manager was extremely apologetic and understanding. There a noticeable difference in the attitude of the waiter on his return. After I paid, the manger approached me & apologize again and mentioned that he spoke with the waiter and gave me some gift cards. Unnecessary but very much appreciated. Now for the food: I did not hear any complaints on the taste or preparation from our group. I ordered chicken & waffles, good but the«chicken» consisted of chicken strips, not spicy but good & not dry. Waffles were freshly made topped with powered sugar. My son had the sunny breakfast sandwich with french fries. No complaints.

The place is good but not great. Nothing really stood out as simply amazing. I prefer Family House of Pancakes in Chula Vista over here.

Took my family here for breakfast and have to say the worst breakfast experience ever. the server took our drink order(which is the first thing when u go to any restaurant) we never got it… she didnt even have silverware at the table she put us at. we had to ask another server and he got us our drinks really quick. We ordered our food and got it at a decent time .10−15 mins tops. i ordered breakfast tacos and everything on my plate was cold!!! considering I work in the restaurant business I was very upset at the quality of the food especially for a breakfast joint. even my kids food was cold but they were hungry so they had no complaints .for me this set the standard for every broken yolk in town for worst service and worst breakfast in town. If you want really good breakfast go to aunt emmas in national city and not broken yolk.

Went here a couple of days ago with my boyfriend after a morning sunrise hike and we were starving. We got inside, got seated immediately, however it did take awhile for our server to get to us upon being seated. It looked like he was the only server there, so I didn’t mind. There were coffee cups and creamer on the table for the coffee offered to us, so it seemed like it was free, but it was NOT. No big deal! It was only $ 2.50 for unlimited refills. The menu is so large it took awhile for us to order, but we ended up getting the Border Check Omelette and the Tiki Toast. Both delicious & were very big servings. We also got a side of sausages and bacon. I would think the side servings would be big too, but they weren’t. The food came out at a decent time. Didn’t take too long, but it wasn’t very fast either. I’d go back again because I think the food was pretty good. The restaurant should put another person on the floor to have more efficient service.

Today was our first time eating here and I have to say it exceeded our expectations. I had often heard of how it’s expensive but worth it and I see why. I had the stuffed French toast with a side of sausage and eggs over easy and my boyfriend had the huevos rancheros. First off, we were seated right away, and started off with a green tea and coffee. Our wonderful server Rodrigo(sorry if I’m spelling it wrong) was very attentive and patient :) he definitely helped make our meal that much better. I hope we see him again when we return :) Our food came out almost as soon as we ordered it. Cons, the eggs were a little tough and the sausages were small and tough as well. It reminded me of a slim Jim lol Ps. The bathrooms were also very clean and it wasn’t crowded so that a also very good in our books lol. Definitely coming back! Thank you Rodrigo for making the atmosphere feel very welcoming and cozy.

Not sure what happened but I took pictures we were out for breakfast before my daughter had to catch a flight back to UOP I had the Duncan Ricardo omelet it really sounded good when it came I notice a big piece of burnt something(see pic) I removed it and started to eat but notice a burnt taste, I did not have time to send it back and wait for new one as it took 20minutes to get this I asked for a box and packed up my breakfast When I got home I was going to eat the rest but as I got further into the omelet I notice most of it was burnt hidden inside the omelet(see pic) So I just thrown it into the trash as that is what this breakfast was. 13 dollar piece of trash Not so good eats

Had breakfast here this morning. It was just okay. The tiki toast was really good. Good morning burger was just ok, but the French fries were a little undercooked. A tiny bit more on the pricier side for the portion size. Most likely wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here as there are other diner like restaurants closer to me.

Pros: food is edible. Cons: food is cold. Inconsistent. My hashbrowns were brown. My girlfriend’s came out as hashwhites. Sausage patty was similar to chewing on your favorite pair of vans shoes. Country fried steak was good though, it tasted like unicorn laughter. PS, I heard someone say, «pendejo, allí.» I think that means the ketchup is over there, so I’ll chuck that up to really good service.

Great food great service. Really enjoy this location and he entire staff here. For the amount of people they process through this restaurant they do an exceptional job ensuring the food is prompt, hot and always delicious. I recommend anything on the menu. The omelettes are delicious. Great job to the entire staff down there.

This place is below average. The customer service was slow for only having 4 tables eating here. He only refilled my water once and asked to check if our food was okay once. The only pro was that the food came out fairly fast. And they gave a large cup for my boyfriends soda. However, it’s probably because there was barely any people here during a Monday an hour before closing. You would think that the prices would mean better quality food but that was not the case here. $ 13 for salty eggs Benedict? No thank you. We only came here for the buy 1 get 1 free coupon otherwise we wouldn’t have came. I ordered the eggs Benedict with«fresh» fruit and my boyfriend ordered the breakfast quesadilla. My fruit was warm(odd) and soft. Clearly not fresh. Who likes soft watermelon anyway? I think the chef had a heavy hand on the salt because my Canadian bacon and breakfast quesadilla was salty!!! I ended up just eating the poached eggs and some of the English muffin. I did actually enjoy the hollandaise sauce on top though.

Came here for breakfast. This place was okay. Food was just average. Nothing special. Good thing we got here before the mad crowds came. We walked in and were greeted right away and was seated at a booth. I ordered a water with no ice since I have a sore throat. I decided to go with the California burrito. It came with rice and beans. The burrito was filled with eggs, avocado, potatoes, and came with a salsa on the side. The burrito was pretty bland. The beans were cold and the rice was flavorful and cold. I was not impressed with the food. Maybe I should have gotten pancakes. Service was excellent. The waitress kept coming by checking up on us but never refilled our waters. My daughter’s birthday is tomorrow, December 29, so we mentioned it to the waitress and she gave her a biscuit with strawberry jam, chocolate sauce and whipped cream on top with a candle on it. No charge. How nice! Parking is located up front. It gets full fast so get here early.

I would of gave it 1 star or no star at all, but the food was good and the guy that gave us our drinks was nice and attentive to us. Our waiter was just not a good waiter to us. He helped the table next to us way more then our table. My husband needed more water and was really thirsty and of course our waiter has to pass us to get to them so when he refilled that tables drinks he just passed us like nothing and it passed us twice to refill the other persons drink, knowing my husbands glass is empty and in plain sight. He took my husband a couple of minutes just to flag someone down to get us to refill my husbands WATER. Ridiculous!!! Now I know why this place is only 2 ½ stars but of course we don’t judge it by the reviews and just went anyways just to judge ourselves but I guess I should of listened!!!

BADSERVICEALLAROUND!!! Waitress toke a long time to take our order. After taking our order we had to ask for our daughters juice, like she had forgotten. When the food came out it was cold and the coffee tastes burnt. We complained to the waitress and she took off one of the meals from the final bill. When we paid we were asked«was everything ok» and I said no. The attendant seemed surprised that I said that. She asked me what went wrong and I told her. Her excuse was the kitchen is really busy. Her demeanor was that of someone who didn’t care and was just asking how everything was because its routine. For the prices they charge I would definitely not recommend this Broken Yolk.

What a horrible experience. The Eastlake Broken yolk struck out again. I m not one to give bad reviews but I really like broken yolk and I would rather go to IHOP in eastlake than here. Our server was oblivious to what happened. I got a coffee from the hostess and coffee refills from a busser and a hostess who happened to stop to help. When our server did show up it was the only time I saw her til she dropped off our check just after the hostess refilled my coffee. The food was hash browns were browned and completely undercooked, my grandmothers bacon was so burned that it was inedible while her toast never came. We couldn’t ask our server for it because we never saw her until she brought the check and told us there was no hurry and have a nice day. I did have a nice day thank you but it wasn’t for having had breakfast there

Broken yoke café is basically like IHOP or Denny’s… Just a bit pricier. I ordered the California Benedict, which was decent. Eggs 30 seconds underdone(whites were still a little runny and I’m a poach egg fanatic so I know how they should be done). Other than that, bacon cooked nicely, but too much hot sauce on top. Disappointed with my burnt hash browns. Maybe I should lay off the starches anyhow haha… Good service. Clean restrooms. Patio smells like pet urine though. I know it’s pet friendly but someone needs to clean up a bit more. :/ I don’t come here often but would come again if with friends.

This is a very busy location but the service is on point as my family would say. Our server was amazing and quick to take care of all of our meal needs. Not once did I have to worry about refilling my water. Another server was constantly running around to make sure people always had their drinks filled. Maybe next time I will try their twelve egg omelet challenge!

RUDERECEPTIONIST. So I know I came here on Mother’s Day. I know it’s gonna be busy. I checked in and was told that the wait is 15 mins. It took longer because obviously it’s packed on Mother’s Day. I went back inside to ask to ask how much longer the wait is. I told the receptionist that it has been almost an hour and I just want to know. She had the nerve to tell me itms only been 50 mins! So I once again asked how long? She said another 15 mins! I don’t need her sassing me correcting me that I have only been here for 50 mins instead of an hour.

We came on a Sunday, THE busiest It gets too considering they are a brunch spot! This was also our first time trying BYC. The wait wasn’t so bad, we waited a good 10−15min around 1130a. We were served promptly as well, I think the wait for our food took the longest? But that is a given since it IS Sunday. Our servers were really friendly and quick and did ask us if everything was ok, we had no problems with customer service. We ordered The stuffed french toast and John Wayne! It was a large amount that was served so of course we took the other half home! The menu made the food look and sound delicious but the food seemed as if we could’ve just made it at home so our order wasn’t all that great in the end. The orange was actually really good and I was thinking they should have mimosas, guess what? They do! I didn’t order it so *maybe* next time? Best part was the 10% OFF when checking into the Unilocal app! The worst was maybe the parking since it is shared within the plaza. Overall, I liked it but it’s the food that makes you think that since you paid so much only to know you should’ve just cooked it yourself!

Best Reastraunt breakfast me & my family have had in awhile. My kids love it they actually eat all there good! Best omelets in SD hands down! Even there coffee taste good. My fav is the Cisco Kid omelette & the John Wayne. The service is very friendly especially at the door/register & there pretty fast as well only waited bout 10 min to get our good once we ordered. And there very generous with there portions love that. This place has ruin IHop for my family, we’ll never go to Ihop again for breakfast we’ll stick to Broken Yolk. There OJ is actually freshly squeezed & very good.
