We love Borios! I’ve had both my baby shower and daughter’s Baptism there and have nothing but wonderful things to say. The food is great (everyone has been raving about the vodka sauce), the service is excellent, they have incredible views, and the prices are totally reasonable. If we didn’t live so far away we would probably be regulars there

What can I say – Borio’s, a central NY landmark, has an awesome family atmosphere with a «second to none» view and fantastic food and service! Love the perch. Thanks Marty, Amy, chuck and staff for a wonderful evening.!!

My daughter and son in law’s flight back to California was cancelled so before we headed back to Ft Drum we looked on Unilocal for a good place for dinner. We like locally owned places and boy did we pick the right spot! The prices were great, large portions of food, and the service couldn’t be beat. My husband and I will gladly drive back any time we want some good seafood, which is almost nonexistent in the Watertown area. Thanks for a great dining experience, I can’t wait to come back when we can sit out on the deck.

Beautiful view. Great service. Food is okay, but you can still sit there and enjoy the view, so the food is secondary. We had a great server.

Fantastic. The service couldn’t have been better. The food was on point. Some of the best calamari I’ve ever had. Very quick turn around in the kitchen. Everything came out as it should. The appetizer was on the table when returning from the salad bar. The entrees arrived as we finished our salads. The prices were very reasonable. Although we weren’t able to sit on the deck we still enjoyed a fantastic view. Borio’s is what I expect from an on the water restaurant. The salad bar was small but good. You will not be disappointed!

We have eaten here a couple times in the past and have been pleased. The meal and view from deck wonderful. My husband made a reservation for Mother’s Day, he was never told it was a buffet. I wanted to leave but we decided to try the $ 24 «brunch «. The food was awful and not fresh. Most of the food tasted like it was frozen and just reheated.

Went here on a Thursday night around 7ish. Got seated right as we walked through the door. Amazing view of the water! I ordered a glass of moscato that was very good! My friend ordered another white wine that she also complimented. We ordered our food and headed to the salad boat. Got our salads and within 15 mins our food was on the table! Great ticket times! I ordered the NY strip steak and she ordered the Mahi Mahi. She said her meal was very very good. Mine however, was not. The steak was ordered medium rare, it was well done and a grayish brownish color. I had maybe two bites of it, and couldn’t even chew it. It looks like the steak was previously frozen. It most definitely was not an $ 18.99 steak. The waitress came over to take our food and noticed I hadn’t touched the steak she immediately said «you didn’t like it did you?» And I explained to her that it was not cooked to order. She took everything away, asked if she would get me something else, I politely declined and she came back with the check. She took of my steak off the check.
The only reason this got 3 stars is because of the waitress. She was well trained, personable, and very friendly! I tipped her well over the 20% because she deserved it. I just hope Borios can get it together for the summer months because this is a place I love to go to and sit outside.

My friends and I come here often and have celebrated the past five or so New Years here with dinner. Food is always delicious– especially the baked brie. Service is sometimes slow and we always have to wait for a table even with a reservation but the food and local wine make up for it.

Just got back from Borio’s.can’t say enough good about this restaurant and staff. After being told there was at least an hour and a half wait for our party of 12. we were quietly debating on going elsewhere. The host and servers were so accommodating, they sat us in 10 short minutes. We were celebrating a very special occasion, so it meant a lot to us. Our appetizers and food were delicious. The server refilled drinks as quickly as we drank them. Everything was wonderful from start to finish.

My wife and I hosted an Anniversary party for 50 people at Borio’s on Saturday May 17. The function started at 6:30. There was a function in our room, The Sunset Room, prior to ours. We had some concern for turning the room over in time, however not to worry the room was ready at 6:30. There also was a function upstairs for 200. That concerned me as far as the kitchen being able to handle both functions. They pulled it off without a problem! The Sunset Room is on the lower level of Borio’s and has a beautiful patio that overlooks Oneida Lake. The room could seat approximately 200 so we had plenty of space. The tables were set with white linens with navy blue napkins. The tables were set with the appropriate flatware in place for the meal. The bar staff did a great job in serving our guests. There were two bartenders on and I did feel that only one was needed however the Borio’s are focused on customer service and they exceeded my expectations. One of the bartenders worked the floor during dinner to make sure our guests had wine or other beverages during service. When we arrived we had a cheese, vegetable, and fruit assortment. There was plenty and the fresh fruit was served with cream. Very nice! We started with a passed salad platter that was fresh with mixed greens including mesclun mix and fresh garnishes. Salad dressings were served family style with a choice of Ranch or Italian. Dinner was a plated choice of Prime Rib, Cape Cod Haddock, or Chicken Parmesan. A baked potato and a sauté of fresh vegetables accompanied the plate. The servers did a great job serving our guests given the three choices. I asked for an end cut for a guest at our table and that was handled efficiently. Everything on the plate was hot, many times attending banquets you get lukewarm vegetables, a cold potato, or the entrée’s over cooked. Not the case at Borio’s, my Haddock was served perfectly cooked, the potato and the vegetables were still hot from the pan! A couple guests did think the vegetables were a little short of al dente and I would agree although I would rather have them a touch under cooked than over cooked. The Prime Rib was cooked properly, medium rare to medium, the Chicken Parmesan was enjoyed, and the Cape Cod Haddock was very good. We did check with our guests and everyone enjoyed their meal. Service was attentive with the servers checking during dinner to make sure our entrees were cooked properly. This is a small step often missed in banquet service. The room was cleared quickly when we were finished. We brought in our own cake which was sliced and served by the staff. Coffee service was efficient for those who wanted. The only criticism I would have would be the flatware used is one step above disposable. Although it is metal, it is very inexpensive and does not fit the other standards at Borio’s. I worked with Marty to book the party and with Chuck the night of the function. All in all a great setting for a function thanks to the fine service and great food!

We went there for late lunch/​early dinner on Sunday. First time visiting and friend of ours who lives in Cicero said its a nice place to grab a beer and lunch. So we did and it was delicious. I was a little skeptical because of the reviews here, but i am glad we tried this place. For an appetizer we got stuffed shrimp with mozzarella and they were delicious! the only drawback was that they give you 5 not-​that-​big shrimps for $ 9, but they were worth to try. For an entrée i got baked and stuffed haddock plate which was delicious, my boyfriend got a regular burger and he was happy with it as well. The portions were pretty big too.
The inside of the restaurant is not the greatest, however when u sit on the porch u dont really care because the view of the lake is beautiful and that’s what you look at. Love this place, great to have a beer, lunch and relax. If we move/​visit Syracuse area again we would definitely come back! and i am sure it is packed during the summer/​warm weather.

I have been a long time Borios customer. Its an awesome setting, good food, very nice people. Its a great place to go to on a summer night. Thursdays they have live entertainment, and the place is packed, with a beautiful setting.

I have to give this restaurant 1 star. I tried twice to have dinner here. We were told an hour wait both times and ended up waiting 3 hours before finally leaving. Honestly… it was not that busy. To top it all off, the owner/​host was incredibly rude. I will never attempt to dine at Borio’s again. They obviously do not value customers.

I went here because it was #1 on the list of best places to eat outside in the Post-​Standard. I can’t say a whole lot about the food because I just had a club sandwich, but surprisingly, it’s not a great place to sit outside. About ¼ of the outside tables are actually in the sun, the rest are under a permanent awning.
I got the club sandwich because the place had two big strikes against it upon walking in (all of the clients were old people and they have off-​brand ketchup) so I figured I’d go with something impossible to screw up. It was not screwed up, so I guess that’s good. Girlfriend got the fish sandwich, which was surprisingly decent.
If it’s blazingly hot and you want to sit outside in the shade, this is a great spot. If it’s a really nice day and you want some sun, probably skip it.

Great food, good service, great view, long wait to be seated.
Try calling ahead and ask to be put on call ahead list (up to 45 min ahead). Alternative is when weather is nice is to order take out and eat on the lawn but while officially not allowed when you have an 1−½ wait to be seated you do what you have to.
Best during summers on Thursday when they have live entertainment on lawn overlooking lake but crowded — see take out tip above :)

To be honest the food was really disappointing but a nice location on the lake. Better to go there for lunch in the summer/​winter months to enjoy the view. Popular for wedding functions. Good service.
