DG’S Family Restaurant

Had a lovely meal here on a recent trip back home to CNY. I forgot how great this place is. Also was blown away by the $ 6 for a glass of wine. I have been living in a big city too long. That price made me feel like I was committing a crime!
The food here is good. Like having dinner at a relative’s home. Super comfortable and the staff takes care of you. I really like the prices and think their specials are really impressive. My mom has a $ 10 NY strip dinner!
Oh and don’t get anything but the house made dressing. It’s delicious. Wish I could have bought a bottle to bring back home with me.

Was traveling thru central square today and decided to stop by Dgs restaurant for lunch. They recently changed ownership and was curious to see if things had improved. Ate at the bar with Erica as my bartender, great food, fast service and did I mention Erica was my bar tender nuff said ! Will definitely return soon.

This was the first time that I have eaten here. Unfortunately the food was not good and two of the three meals came out not even hot! The sauce was not that good either… kind of soupy and reminded me of something out of a can. I will definitely not eat there again. The waitress was nice and friendly.

Long time goer of this place since I was a kid. But my last visit was okay. The new menu is cut down to 2 pages. Plus there’s alot of space on those pages. My favorite was the eggplant parm. It’s gone now. They don’t even have chicken riggis? What theme are they going for? This last visit will be my last. Due to the new limited selection of meals. Thanks for the memories DGS

I’ve had good luck here, food and service have always been pretty good. Just love the soups and there Italian dishes. They have become a little pricey but the taste and portion size are good

This is our favorite restaurant to go too. I don’t care that once in awhile we may have something go wrong, like anywhere else you go, but it’s how they handle it afterwards. Never had a bad meal, never had bad service, never needed to complain about anything because it’s always great! Food is top notch! Many people only post when they have a negative experience, not me! How can you go somewhere for 25 years and now complain because you had 1 bad service? Maybe she was having a really bad day? Maybe she just needed you to appreciate her and understand that a waitresses job isn’t easy. I don’t know… Try this place, it’s awesome! And if you like it as much as i do, as we do… Then write a review! Enjoy. ;)

An OK restaurant but loads of better choices nearby. The food was mediocre at best, scallops were cooked correctly but were drowned in wine, couldn’t taste anything but wine. NE clam chowder was disgusting, cambells condensed soup taste better than what they called chowder, chowder shouldn’t be brown and should use real clams. At almost $ 6 a bowl should have been better. Food was very overpriced for the low quality.

Very good restaurant, great portion sizes. Cannot complain about the food.

I brought my wife and another couple to our anniversary dinner out together. We ordered two appetizers first one was coconut shrimp but it was brought with instead of the raspberry sauce it was brought with barbecue sauce. The waiters and waitresses are obscure so in order to find one you had to wait. Finally, we were able to distract one of the waitresses and she came over and told our waitress that we needed her but she was too busy to come so another waitress came. By the time we received the dressing for the coconut shrimp coconut shrimp was now cold. When we finally received our meals the steak I ordered medium rare was well done. The Haddack Florentine had an overabundance of spinach covering up a small piece of fish. The waitress did offer to redo a steak but we did not want to wait and have a separate meal for one person. She then offered a free dessert in its place. One of the items on the dessert menu was a coconut cream pie however it was not the usual coconut cream and it was not very good. We had to travel about 45 to 50 minutes to get to this restaurant and doubt we will go back again

DG’s presents a very rich menu and sets high expectations. We stopped here for a road trip lunch. The meal was OK. French fries are excellent and the service was fast and professional. The burgers were OK. Unfortunately the portabello flat bread sandwich arrived with a couple of regular baby mushrooms inside; as we have learned the chef was new and did not know the difference (!!!). The replacement dish was very good. Your mileage may vary.

Best eggplant sandwich I ever did eat. Sub marinara for meat sauce of course.

Went here for the first time and loved it! They were so accommodating with me being vegetarian and made me a special veggie wrap which was so good. Our waiter was fabulous and so helpful. Will definitely come back!
