I’m sorry to say that my experience with Boone Fabrics has been horrible! I wish I had read the reviews before I ever called the store. On June 2nd, I ordered plain, white cotton duck fabric for slip covers for my sofa and loveseat. I paid for the fabric and was told it would come in two weeks. After three weeks, I hadn’t heard anything so I called to see where the fabric was. Carol said the fabric hadn’t been shipped yet but she would contact the vendor and it would definitely be in by the next Tuesday. I was told I would then receive a call from Betty, who sews the slipcovers, when the fabric is in. Two weeks later, no phone call from anyone. I called Boone Fabrics once again but no one answered the phone during business hours. I called several times and no one answered and no voice mail picked up to leave a message. I sent an email through their website, cancelling the order but never received a response. Another week went by and I tried calling again. Finally I spoke with someone who told me they ALWAYS have the answering machine on and they ALWAYS answer the phone. Carol also said she never received an email from me. Why would I lie about this? It was now mid-July and I told them to cancel the order. Carol told me the $ 600 worth of fabric was nonreturnable. Then I was told the fabric came in but that it would have to be pre-washed due to possible shrinkage. They told me I would have to cut the fabric in 10 ft increments and wash it myself. Betty took a swatch home and washed it. It shrank 30%. Apparently, the vendor sent the wrong fabric. I told them that was unacceptable. They offered to order the«correct» fabric. It is now August 17th and I still haven’t heard from anyone, nor do I have any slipcovers. Summer is over, my plans to use the slipcovers for an event has passed, and I can’t cancel the order for the fabric that I paid for in advance. What an atrocious way to run a business! If I could have given them negative stars, I would have.

On July 23, I went to Boone’s fabric to inquire about getting curtains made from fabric that I owned. The lady that helped me determine sizes for the shade that I wanted. She told me it would take 4 weeks to make the curtain. I paid for half of the price as a down payment. I called to check on my curtain 5 weeks later as I had not heard from anyone. I left a message on the answering machine about my inquiry. I didn’t receive a phone call back a week later, so I called back. The person told me that my curtain would be in the following Saturday. I called on the Saturday that I was to pick it up to make sure that it was in. I was told that my curtain was still in the warehouse as the person was too busy to pick it up through the week and that she would not be able to pick it up until the middle of the following week. When I voiced my displeasure about the customer service that I was receiving throughout the whole process, the manager told me that she was training many new people and that she needed to train them on following up and how important that was. She apologized that I was lost in the shuffle. I do not have the curtains yet, so I cannot speak to the quality.
