Curries in this location has been closed. However i had Awesome experience with Curries in the north. buffet at lunch is great. Feels like a true Indian restaurant which I was missing for a really long time. Great Experience.

Living in UPA nearby, I went twice with friends and haven’t been back. Each time I got the lunch buffet. The first time I went there I noticed a bug buzzing around and flying by the buffet area. I only got two small plates and am glad I did. Or else I would be eating nothing but pepto bismuth tablets for a day or two.

This place is delicious! We ordered it late last night for delivery. The food was great, especially for the price!!! We paid $ 43 for… Pakora appetizers: Very good but different than I am used to. A lot more onion and batter than others I have had. Sweet corn soup: This was really good! I love that there were whole kernels of corn, and some purée as well. Great flavor. Rasum soup: The menu said it was a lentil soup… the flavor was good, but the texture was not what we expected. It was really liquidy… the consistency of broth. Normally, with lentil soups, they are thicker. There were large tomato chunks, which I didn’t care for. This is the one thing we ordered that we probably wouldn’t get again. Chicken tikka masala: Delicious and rich flavors! You get A LOT of chicken. More pieces than you get from other Indian delivery in the area. Tandoori chicken: The chicken was perfectly spicy and very moist! Great grilled flavor to it, Chicken curry: We have had better chicken curry, but was still pretty good. Same as the other chicken dish, you get a lot of chicken, which is a major plus! ALLTHATFOR $ 43?! YES, PLEASE! I wanted to see how their Indian food was before trying the Indian Chinese fusion dishes. But the Indian dishes were great, so I can’t wait to try more! I also love that they wrapped everything in our order with saran wrap! Kept everything secure. Shows they care about customer satisfaction. Also notable, the man who took our order was extremely nice… the only down side is the order took quite a bit to get here, which eh told us it would… he said 45 mintues, it was closer to an hour. I thought it was pretty late for 8pm on a Tuesday night. But they could have been busy, who knows!

More like a 3.5. Wanted to like this place more– service at Deep India has been going downhill. We’ve had– Springs rolls, tikka masala, saag paneer, garlic potatoes and garlic naan. All was pretty good, but nothing exceptional. Except the service– easiest delivery order I’ve ever made and each container was plastic wrapped for added security. Great touch! Will come back… But may try other menu items.

I can’t stress enough– this is the best Indian in Clifton. No questions asked. I know that Deep and Krishna are the sexy choices, but let’s be real here– they both have substantial flaws. Curries has the quality of food that both Deep and Krishna do, while actually having customer service(unlike Deep), and actually having room to sit(unlike Krishna)… Plus they deliver. My girlfriend and I have been sick as hell for the last few days, and today we hit the pinnacle of sick-ness, much like the Disturbed song. She can’t get out of bed, and I have no desire or energy to cook. Enter Curries. Within 40 minutes, a giant pile of saag choley and gobhi manchurian were entering my face. I ate all of it. I hate myself.

This is the closest to actual Indian food in Cincinnati, period! We go there every other weekend for the lunch buffet and it never fails to impress. At $ 8, it is great value for money with quite a lot of options for both vegetarians and non vegetarians. Also, we get food delivered from there every once in a while on weekdays. Really good stuff! Most of the Indian restaurants around Clifton Americanize the food a lot by adding a lot of cream and butter. This is the real deal! Try it out and you will not be disappointed. I would suggest you to go for the lunch buffet so that you can try out different kinds of food from their menu. But make sure you get there around 12−1pm because that is when the food is really fresh! Sometimes it’s not very crowded and if you go towards the end of the buffet, the food has been sitting for a few hours and it is not that great. Get there early and I’m sure thay you would love it!

I haven’t tried the buffet yet but the Indo Chinese fare hits it right out of the park. No stale flavor, great hospitality and great food livens up the gastronomic scene around the Clifton area. Looking forward to come back again.

This review is for the lunch buffet: We have a lot of Indian lunch buffets in New Jersey. We have a lot of great Indian food. But for a $ 7 Indian lunch buffet, I have not seen better than Curries. During my stay in Cincinnati, I would come here at least once a week. Here are some reasons why: — they’re open on Sundays, and a lot of my other spots to eat are closed — their buffet is the SAME price on the weekend! — quality to price ratio is excellent! Best deal for food I’ve had in all my time in Cincinnati! — among their excellent dishes, they have dal, bhindi masala, and I’ve been told they’ll be starting up dosas during their buffet as well. Awesome. — they are good for vegans. There is always too much food for me, and they often make me an extra dish without dairy if they feel I don’t have enough options. This restaurant saved me from(Indian food) desperation during my isolation in the Midwest. I wish them further success… I will miss my lovely visits here.

I have continually given this restaurant chance after chance. It’s a rarity to have an Indian place that delivers to our area and I’m saddened that shoddy customer service has led me to no longer patronize such a convenience. On multiple occasions my food order has been severely late. I am at most an 8 minute drive from the restaurant, but today I had to wait A FULLHOURAND A HALF for the food to arrive. Unacceptable by any legitimate delivery standard. My partner and I ordered our two standby dishes and were extremely dissatisfied by the quality. The chicken tikka masala contained five large chunks of chicken floating in orange sauce. I guess the chef couldn’t have been bothered to shred the chicken like every other Indian restaurant in the city. Makes sharing a little more difficult. I don’t know what exactly was wrong with the saag paneer, but there was absolutely nothing right. The spinach tasted old and overcooked and the paneer also tasted gross. Can’t really describe how it was bad, just that it was indeed bad. I know this place is under new ownership from the days of Mr. India, but clearly they still don’t have their act together. You’d be better off eating at Krishna or Deep.

Pros: Great paneer dishes(I had the Shahi Paneer $ 10 and Shahi Nan) Price — a few dollars less than most of the Indian restaurants in Clifton BYO — bring a great bottle of wine or beer to drink alongside their yummy food. TV’s playing ESPN classic shows. Cons: ambiance isn’t the best, but carryout and enjoy the food at Burnett Woods or at home. Service was a little relaxed for my taste, but wasn’t bad, just not as attentive as I am used to. Bonus: use their BearCash coupon for 10% off 2 entrées. My girlfriend and I were stuffed as we left the place. 1 entrée might be enough for 2 people.

I took Lunch buffet on a Sunday afternoon. I was looking forward to a nice heavy indian cuisine, but on trying a few dishes I would rather prefer to cook self. Paneer was aweful. Goat and Chicken Tikka were way out of what they are expected to taste like. Tikka being very dry in the inside, I needed water to get it inside me. Custard was good with Bhindi, that is all i ate for lunch. Would not recommend a friend, not visiting ever again. Good Day! — — — — — — — — — — — — — I gave it another try and I found it a lot better than my 1st experience. On a weekday lunch buffet, the food was delicious and spicy as expected in Indian cuisine. Its a nice place for Indian food in Cincinnati.

I got take out from this place before and wasn’t incredibly impressed with the place. it’s laid out kinda weird, it’s not dirty but it’s not nice either(for example, there are handwritten signs on the walls) and the food was priced the same as some better Indian food joints. That being said, I may have judged it unfairly. I had commented before that perhaps it’s a good thing they advertise about their buffet more than anything else(it’s colorfully advertised on their windows) and I think, so long as they keep their prices the same($ 7.99) for their lunch buffet, it’s actually a pretty good deal. I hadn’t been inclined to go again but I was working nearby and I had a long lunch so I though, what the heck, why not. The day I was there, there were 3 vegetarian curries and 3 – 4 meat curries, tadoori chicken, lots of naan, vegetarian and chicken indian fried rice and a small salad bar. It’s all made pretty well and I think for the price, it’s worth it and better than some of the other Indian buffets that are nearby. Situated across the street from the Univ of Cincinnati undergrad campus, lord, I would’ve eaten here ALL the time as an undergrad — I could do some serious damage and put away food back then. I was surprised more college kids weren’t all crowded in here — there were maybe 3 – 4 groups dining in addition to myself. Now improvements — they don’t have samosas. I really wish they had samosa’s. They’ve got some sort of strange pakora thing that’s deep fried but i’d much prefer their delightful potato-filled dumpling relatives. Moreover, the space is just a little bit drab and has that awkward too-quiet ambience(play some Indian music or have the TV tuned to the sports channel at least — otherwise it’s just unintentional eavesdropping on other diners and the clink-clink of silverware on plates and bowls. While the curries were all pretty good, they were a LITTLE under-spiced and came up a touch bland and in need of a little salt during the cooking process(salting it afterwards just tastes… bad). One pet peeve I have with the meat curries is that they were all chicken. The fried rice was chicken, the chicken curry was naturally chicken, the tikka masala was chicken and tandoori was chicken. It would’ve been nice to see a lamb or fish curry for some contrast. In essence, it’s good food at a good price and what it lacks in unique character it makes up for in volume given the buffet-style dining; you really can’t complain too much for $ 8. But if you’re the proprietor and you’re reading this, I would challenge you not to just offer what every other Indian buffet is offering but be a little more original, I think you’ll find some of the Krishna, Deep India, Ambar clientele poking their head in around lunch time with a little more effort on your part

Came here with a friend on a Tuesday night and the place was pretty empty. I had heard this place had good service, and wasn’t disappointed — right from the start our server was super nice(like nicer than most servers I’ve seen) but in a very genuine way. The menu is huge so we asked the waiter for some suggestions — We ended up sharing the assorted meat platter and the Chicken methi malai, as well as an order of garlic naan. We snacked on some kind of thin chips and some spicy dipping sauces while we waited for our food. The meat platter came out first on an impressive sizzling plate, a trio of chicken, beef, and lamb with onions and peppers. It looked and smelled as good as it tasted! No complaints about the chicken dish — The waiter told us that most other restaurants don’t even know how to make it. The garlic naan looked like a page out of a foodie magazine — however it wasn’t as hearty and filling as the naan I’ve gotten at other places. The décor isn’t very nice :(but the whole place is a huge step up from papa Dino’s. I hope it’s here to stay! Supposedly they have a dinner buffet on Tuesdays and Wednesdays now which I’ll definitely be checking out soon.

I went here with my girlfriend with a Groupon. The menu is like no restaurant I’ve been to before. There is a regular curry menu, a Southern Indian menu featuring dosa(crispy rice and lentil crepes), and an Indo-Chinese menu with Chinese-style food with Indian spices. We got the Szechuan noodles with chicken. The chicken was not quite perfect, but the noodles were so flavorful with the perfect spice level. We wanted to split one other dish, and we asked the waiter if there were nuts in anything because my girlfriend has a nut allergy. He left to check with the kitchen to find out which dishes would be okay, and when he returned, he told us many of the tomato-based dishes had ground nuts in them, but if we’d wait a little bit, the chef would recreate them without nuts. He was so, so nice, and he gave us a ton of time and help with our questions. We settled on the shahi paneer, which the waiter told us the chef would cook without nuts and with coconut to sweeten it instead of raisins because the raisins may contain traces of nuts. It was delicious. Incredibly rich(a lot of cream), but a really perfect flavor. We also got the garlic naan, and it was the best I’ve ever had. It definitely trumped Deep India’s. I have to say, I LOVE Deep India, and although the chicken tikka saag remains my favorite thing ever, Curries brings something completely different to the table, and it is absolutely worth checking out.

We went here for dinner and I have to say that the food tastes very good! The server was also very nice and was happy to recommend dishes, that may also not be as popular. So for the taste and service, I would give 4 – 4.5 stars… However, I would probably just come back for the lunch buffet($ 6.99, although I would pay more for a buffet), as I thought the dinner prices were a bit pricey for the amount of food(other than rice and sauce) we got. I personally thought that $ 10 for a plate with barely any meat or veggies but lots of sauce and rice was a little too much. $ 6.99 — $ 7.99 would be more appropriate, or maybe add more meat/veggies and I’m happy to pay the price. I am guessing that’s why it was so empty?(We were nearly alone…) The décor was also very basic and casual, so it’s a very relaxed atmosphere :) FYI: They also deliver… but are not open on Sundays.

Best Indian food in Cincinnati. Spice level @ 6 is true to authenticate Indian spice. Chicken tikka and kadai chicken were scrumptious — fresh naan is perfectly flaky. Definitely coming back!

This place is absolutely wonderful. I’ve gone a handful of times since they’ve opened and it’s been consistently terrific. First of all, the food is sooo good. They strive to keep their menu authentic and steer away from Americanized versions of Indian dishes. I’ve had the chicken tikka masala, chicken saag, lamb curry, and saag paneer and they’re all fantastic. The naan is also spectacular compared to what I’ve had in the past. The garlic naan is great but the one with nuts and raisins is crazy good. Most recently, I took the waiter’s suggestion to get the shahi paneer and despite my doubts it was out of this world! Totally my new favorite, especially paired with the nut an raisin naan. He later told me that it means«royal cheese» and that historically, only royalty were allowed to eat it. Makes perfect sense, as it is totally a dish fit for kings! This all brings me to my next point: the service. The staff at Curries is amazing. I can’t say enough good things about them. They’re courteous, attentive, so friendly, and really seem to truly care about giving you a great experience. At most Indian restaurants, you get your water filled and your order taken. At Curries, they chit chat with you, they tell you about the menu and make recommendations, and they check back to make sure your food is to your liking and at the right level of spice. To make a long story short, this is my absolute favorite Indian restaurant. Give it a try and I seriously doubt you could possibly be disappointed.

This was my first time here and the food is quite good. The food isn’t heavy but it is tasty. I am going to venture out into dishes I haven’t tried before. Parking is easy now that there is a garage nearby.
