The subway of sushi! All their ingredients are super fresh and delicious. First pick between a seaweed or soy wrap and then white or brown rice. They offer ‘proteins’(fish, seasoned tofu, crab, and even chicken and steak for the less adventurous) then you can pick whatever veggies(or cream cheese) you’d like. I did seaweed and brown rice with smoked salmon-cream cheese-asparagus and tuna-cream cheese-cucumber. Their citrus chili sauce is fantastic and they don’t do soda. Instead they offer sweet tea, agave lemonade, and seasonal drinks: agave gingerade(ginger lemonade), and lavender lemonade. The gingerade was sooooo good.

It’s been said before but I will echo… this is Chipotle meets grocery store sushi. I had the chef collaboration roll and it was ok but I was a hair concerned about the raw fish being out in the air just sitting in pans. It seems like a subway-esque cover would make it more palatable or keeping the fish differently somehow. The gingerade and lemonade both made with agave were so-so…not sweet, or even half sweet. If you are desperate enough that you would eat grocery store sushi(and hey we have all been there) then this place is a step up but if there is a different authentic option… go with that

Nice place to have some sushi in Cinci OH downtown! Liked the concept and customer service. The food is definitely worth trying if you in the area. Try the traditionL sea weed wrap! Its delicious!

I’m absolutely obsessed with Fusian. The rolls are huge and a great price. They have something for everyone — I can go and get my vegan tofu rolls and even my friends who don’t like sushi like Fusian because they have chicken and soy paper rolls. I recently called on a Saturday morning to see if they could put together a couple catering trays for that night — I assumed it was a long shot with such short notice, but they happily obliged and it worked out perfectly for my party.

Aside from one employee heckling me for being a Steelers fan, service was great, but more importantly, the rolls were great. I got a shrimp roll and a tuna roll, which turned out to be way too much for just me. It all tasted very fresh and I liked the choice of sauces as well. If you like ginger, try the agave gingerade. Yum!

I have mixed feelings about this place. It’s a cool concept(make your own sushi) but their fish options are limited. It’s very Americanized, which is fine, you just need to know that going in. They have some suggested rolls, I got the surf and turf roll which had steak and crab salad. It was surprisingly delicious. This place wouldn’t satisfy my normal sushi craving(since I love an assortment of fish) but it is very good!

One of my favorite quick takeout restaurants in downtown! The concept behind Fusian is make your own sushi, similar to a Chipotle or Piada. First you pick a seaweed or soy wrap and then brown or white rice. Next up is your ‘protein’ they have smoked salmon, salmon, crab mix, tuna, chicken, and tofu. They have an assortment of veggies to pick from and typically always have; green onions, asparagus, carrots, avocado, cream cheese, cucumber, jalapeño, and one rotating veggie depending on what they can get locally that’s in season. Spicy mayo and sweet soy are my go-to sauces to put on top but they have others available; along with crunchy flakes, sesame seeds, and of course ginger and wasabi. My roll is always very big in size and typically get about 8 big pieces in one roll which is only $ 7.00, hard to beat! They also have sides available like edamame and miso soup. The drinks that they make in store are amazing and my personal favorite is the agave gingerade. I have been several times and everytime I go I always have a wonderful experience!

Went to Fusian to try something new. My 19 year old son thought it was good and a unique way to serve Sushi. Very convenient for the average person to pick their own ingredients with variety. I on the other hand thought it was average at best and the proteins were not extremely fresh! Good luck!

Just tried for the first time today. Cool place with nice vibe. Clean location, employees were helpful and nice. One roll enough for lunch. Easy to get through the first time. Wasabi was very hot. Try it. This franchise is going to explode!

This chipotle style sushi was 100% interesting. I was intrigued with the process of me picking out my own sushi, but also lost. I had the advantage of knowing what to put on my sushi from working in a sushi restaurant through college, but my friend who I was with had no clue where to begin. Although the idea had my attention, the confusion did not. I ordered the shrimp(tempura style) in a seaweed wrap with avocado, carrots, cucumber, and spicy mayo on top. Although all the individual ingredients were delicious, I felt as though put together it did not taste like authentic sushi. PS* I could have eaten more than one roll.

Basically a sushi version of chipotle/subway which makes it awesome for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. They need to open some of these in Indianapolis so I can frequent more often! They also have unique healthy options for their soft drinks such as agave lemonade, agave gingerade, cucumber lemon and of course green tea. Highly recommend if you’re looking for sushi without the sushi price.

It is good for what it is as a «hipster» sushi place. Was not what I expected when I went in though. I was intrigued by being able to make my own roll but the choices were slim. They also don’t have any actual pieces of sushi. I built my own tuna roll and got a spicy salmon which where both good. I was actually looking to get some eel though. At 7 – 8 dollars a roll though it is good value. I think each roll is 10 pieces. It is a good spot for a quick healthy lunch but do not expect a large selection.

The staff we’re very very cool about telling me about all the differences in their sushi line up. Nick and Matt did a great job explaining it all to me and I had a great first time sushi experience. The food absolutely fresh and clean, I’ve been three days in a row already… lol keep up the great work Fusion.

Love this place! It’s a little overwhelming the first time you go– because you have to pick all of your sushi ingredients– but, once you learn what you like, or are comfortable with trying new combinations it’s great! The sushi is the best sushi in town. Side note: I tried Mr. Sushi(close by) and it’s good, but Fusian has them beat, hands down.

I loved my sushi that I got here. The very nice guy behind the counter was very encouraging to «branch out and get creative», but I ended up getting one of the menu options. I felt it was reasonably priced, considering it is real, mostly raw food.

I can have whatever I want on my sushi? What a great concept! Fusian has been described to me as Chipotle for sushi, but it’s definitely more like Subway for sushi. A choose your own adventure for sushi made easy. I deeply enjoyed my sushi concoction, the only thing to be desired was Barbecue Eel. A missed opportunity not having that. Peaches was the vegetable of the month. That didn’t make any sense and I had no idea how to combine that with sushi and make it good, so that seemed a pointless choice. I also thought it strange that they had run out of ginger. What’s next, no Frostys at Wendy’s? No fries as McDonald’s? No BURGERS at BURGER King? I mean c’mon, ginger is integral to sushi; it’s practically on the sign. Someone failed somewhere up the daisy chain. Speaking of daisies, I tried the mint melon tea. It had all the joyful taste of liquefied lawn clippings. That is to say that it was tragic, don’t bother. I suffered through it for the better part of 2 – 3 hours before chucking it. If you’ve never been here before it’s a little intimidating. I wasn’t sure where to get soy sauce or if they gave that to me, like how they were supposed to give me ginger and wasabi. I grabbed packets by the beverages only to learn that they had some at the table and that some soy had leaked out of the packets making them sticky and awful. Despite this, I will most definitely be back again.

After multiple attempts to enjoy this place, I have come to the conclusion that friends don’t let friends go to Fusian. I like the concept of the place, but after multiple gross experiences at this particular location, I highly recommend taking a pass on it. Anyway, Mr. Sushi is like right down the street. Different idea, but they probably won’t serve you something that makes you feel like chewing food forever is your new normal. Bleh. I shudder at the mere memory of eating at Fusian. Maybe I went on off nights, but the ingredients didn’t seem fresh at all, and that’s really not something you want to think about when you think about sushi. Or, you know, putting food in the olé crap factory and hoping it all churns out all right. And now I think I’ve said enough.

After deciding to give this place another try for lunch today, I am changing my mind on Fusian. I think they’ve expanded their menu from before and now there are tons of fresh options to choose from. I am not sure if they’re still doing this but before they were putting beef in their sushi(I guess to help introduce newbies to the concept of sushi). They do not seem to be doing this anymore which, to me, is a good thing. I’ve been back several times recently and have had a great experience. As a side note, I usually get two rolls at a normal sushi restaurant. Prrrrrrrrrobably not the best idea here. I can put some food down, and I was about ready to explode about half way through my second roll. :-P

I think Fusian is fine, but it’s never going to blow you away. I actually eat here a couple times per month for lunch during the week. If there’s ever more than 10 people in line, I opt for the generic turkey sandwich at any local shop. I’ve only had a couple experiences where it’s less than average, and in both circumstances the fish didn’t taste super fresh. Also, the restaurant decided to eliminate fountain drinks from their offerings, instead opting for lemonade and tea. They are still willing to charge a couple bucks for a small glass bottle of coke or diet coke. I’d also say that this place is a bit overpriced, but I don’t think it’s outlandish. As I said in my first sentence, it’s just fine… Nothing more.

Don’t go if you actually like the taste of sushi. This place is designed to appeal to stereotypically unadventurous American palettes. It’s fast-food, assembly-line style, with sauces and alternative ingredients that hold your hand through whatever complicated flavor is left from it’s Asian beginnings. Is the taste of seaweed too much for you? Then have your«sushi» rolled with a tasteless soy wrap instead! Can’t stand the taste of raw fish? Don’t worry, we marinate ours in a sweet chili sauce so that you have no hope of actually tasting it! Think that’s still too risky? Try having CHICKEN in your«sushi» instead! My entire meal of one roll, a cup of miso, a side salad, and a drink was over 16 dollars; far more expensive than any other fast food meal I’ve had, and only a few dollars less than actually sitting down at a real sushi bar. The only«raw» fish they had were salmon and tuna, and they were sitting in tubs of sweet chili marinade.(This wasn’t indicated on any menu, rather I asked what the weird liquid was that the fish was sitting in; they thought I was concerned because of allergies.) Your other«raw» choice is smoked salmon, which is what I went with. The roll was ok, but it made me crave actual sushi even more rather than satisfying the craving I had going in. The miso soup was the blandest I’d ever tasted; the one piece of seaweed in it was completely brown and gross looking, like it was overcooked. The ginger carrot salad did not have the super-delicious dressing any real Asian place would have, but rather tasted like a sugary grocery store knock-off; also, they’re stored too cold. The first one I got had a top layer of frozen lettuce that hurt to bite into, and the second one was still so cold that I couldn’t taste it. I would much rather have spent a few more dollars for a real sushi meal with tasty miso, a fresh salad, and a real selection of sashimi-style raw fish. The counter staff was nice and rolled their maki well, but that’s the only good thing I can say about the place.

This is located on Vine across from El Coyote near Fountain Square. I usually go to the Fusian in Hyde Park. My husband and I wanted a quick bite before the Cincy Winter Beerfest. You walk up and order(like the chipotle restuarant). You create your own sushi. First you choose your wrap. Seawood wrap or Soy Wrap. You can order inside and out or seaweed out. You have your choices of brown or white rice. Second, add your protein. Your choices are: Tuna, Chicken, Shrimp, Salmon, Crab Mix, Steak, Smoked Salmon, Salmon, Crabstick, Tofu, or Yellow Tail. What I like about this place is you can do half and half. I got my usual– Smoked Salmon and Tofu(which is smoked and firm) on inside and out seaweed roll. Delish!!! Third you select your veggies: Asparagus, Avocado, Carrots, Green Onions, Jalapeño, Cucumber, or Cream Cheese(yes!!!). Then you top it off with your choices of: Spicy Mayo, Wasabi Mayo, Sriracha, Sweet Chili, Sweet Soy, Yakisoba, Crab Mix, Sesame Seeds, Masago, or Tempura Crunch. All that you get a low calorie, quick and cheap meal. Makes 10 pieces. Pricing(depending what type of protein you get) only $ 6.95– $ 8.00. If you want sides with your Sushi they have many to choose from. Cucumber Salad, Seaweed Salad, Spice Edamame, and Edamame. I tried the seaweed salad and Edamame. You get a small cup and pricing is reasonable. I noticed that this location does not sell alcohol. Restaurant very clean, Dine in is spacious. Staff very friendly and quick.

Sushi version of Chipotle. I went on a weekday at lunchtime and it was packed. The custom sushi line was very quick. I had a seaweed wrap with salmon, avocado and cucumber. It was really good and lite. The miso soup wasn’t good. It tasted like something from a can. The edamame was fine but not as good as other sushi restaurants. The interior is similar to Chipotle in that it’s simple, industrial and modern. Overall, this restaurant is A-OK.
