So I have to admit that I’m pretty new to the sushi world but as far as I can tell, this place is the bomb! I’ve eaten there probably a dozen times and have not once been disappointed. The last time my fiancé and I ate at Mr. Sushi we sat at the bar and chatted with one of the employees. He was so nice and was amazing at rolling sushi!(I’ve tried it myself a few times… Not so easy!) He even gave us a free sample of something AMAZING… I can’t even tell you what it was but it was delish! It was completely unexpected but a super cool gesture as he was pretty dang busy but took the time to make us some free yummies! Our experience at Mr. Sushi is always exceptional and the fact that all rolls are half off after 4pm is amazing. Great food, great prices. What more could you ask for?! Oh yeah, don’t forget to order a salad with house dressing to start your dinner off… It’s to die for!

Mr. Sushi is always spot on good. I do not eat fish but I do eat vegetable rolls. They have a good variety of vegetable rolls. Even will make vegetable rolls not on the menu. The have really good sake too. The service is always spot on but I usually go there during dinner /off hours. I heard lunch can be busy. The only reason I took a star away is the price. I do feel the menu is a bit over priced but I do still go back.

Was not impressed with this sushi. It was a tad bit warm. I like my sushi served cold. The wait was long, and the waiter seemed uninterested in making our experience a good one. The appetizers came out with the meal which is a huge pet peeve of mine. The food took a while to come out and the overall experience let me down.

A for effort but you gotta be really bad to mess up inari and tamago! And the prices are not worth it.

For the second time here for having decent food, I had some good kind here and mostly the foods here was so great and nice deal with fantastic qualified service. It was delicious and the price was also affordable too. Perhaps I will come back to the place.

Well well well, Cincinatti, your sushi game is ONPOINT! I needed to fulfill a sushi craving during a brief trip, Mr. Sushi came up on Unilocal because it was a block from my hotel, so off I went. 50% off if you dine-in, 20% off if you take-out. FRESH, DELICIOUS, AMAZING. I got the seafood salad appetizer which was PACKEDPACKEDPACKED with fresh sashimi and shrimp, the spicy tuna over crispy rice(totally bomb), and a few pieces of sashimi. $ 37 later and I was filled to the gills, pun intended. The service is great too. I walked in to do a carry out order and the employees were really friendly and attentive, not to mention my food was ready in less than 10 minutes.

We have come here a couple of times before Reds games, and we have always sat at the sushi bar. The sushi chef is friendly and always provides us with complimentary hand rolls. We have always had good service — prompt and waters kept filled. Sushi has been good. Nice change of pace before a ball game.

This is my favorite sushi place in Cincinnati. The staff is always friendly and very welcoming. The restaurant is always clean and the food is always fresh. The chefs are very creative and their presentation matches the tastiness of the food. I am here quite often as it is close to my office.

I love this place. They have some delicious rolls, the quality is pretty consistent n matter who the sushi chef is at the time and the best part is ½ price sushi after 5pm all week!!! They have had some under-staffing issues a few of the times we have been there, but they warn you ahead of time so that if you are in a rush you can go elsewhere before you commit. Our current favorites are the Volcano roll, the Airforce roll and the Dragon roll. They are the spine of any meal we have here and are usually complemented by some delicious Veggie Tempura(all kinds of veggies, like sweet potato, pepper, onion and zucchini). Their gyoza are also quite good(the steamed dumplings are also nice, but you can’t beat fried stuff ;)) Sad part is that they only carry Pepsi and I am decidedly a Coke girl.

Quick update for Mr Sushi They already have great sushi(must try Playboy roll) at half price after 4; already have great location to walk everywhere downtown, even Cylones or Cincy Shakespeare. Guess what… They also have a great selection of craft beers. I go with Rhinegeist cougar or 6 West lemongrass. Enjoy.

They do a pretty good job here and outside of the sushi, they also provide some nice bento boxes and other dishes. The staff always seems pretty friendly and you can get in and out within an hour.

The taste for fresh fish comes in the nigiri. Got a few pieces of the salmon and I wasn’t disappointed in the quality and quantity(esp for half price!) Who doesn’t like the half price deals? I ordered the Philly roll(staple) and a roll with spicy tuna and topped with scallops. I’d go back for a quick fix and try their other selections.

This place has pretty good sushi. I came here for lunch, but we didn’t order off the lunch special menus since nothing caught our eye. The sushi here are huge! I split 3 rolls with my boyfriend, and we ended up only eating 2. We had to take the last roll home. Price wise, I think each roll goes for around $ 10, not too bad. I’ve had better sushi, but if you’re in the downtown area looking for some quick sushi, this place isn’t too bad.

Been there twice — once for dinner and once for a lunch. Both times were excellent. Service was very good and consistent. Food was very tasty — had spicy tuna roll, spider roll, salmon teriyaki, and chicken teriyaki(not all at once — between the two meals and with others). And they have one of my favorite beers — Kirin Light. I will be back.

Went there today with a friend. The server didn’t know much and said he’d call someone else to explain what was inside the rolls(because their paper menu doesn’t have any descriptions of rolls); waited 10 minutes for someone to come explain it. That person went inside to check what the prices for adding inari to a roll would be. That person also said they don’t have sweet potato rolls(although that’s what I’ve always had there in the past, and they’ve tasted pretty good). Kept waiting. No one came for another 15 minutes. Saw a party who came after us being served. We just left after we saw that. No one followed us or anything either. 25 minutes wasted! At least we got water in the beginning, I guess, so there’s something good. The location in Clifton is not affiliated with this downtown location though. Go there instead of here.

Half price Sushi! Is such a Cincy thing, so when my girlfriend came into town for the weekend this was a MUST for her. We were already down at the square so Mr Sushi for the bill. The space is huge and would be very accommodating for large parties. We were seated on a Sunday night immediately. The Rolls were priced full price – why they do this I have no idea considering the sushi is ALWAYS half off, but whatever. We ordered the tofu appetizer — fried tofu with teriyaki which came out freshly fried and drizzled with teriyaki sauce, and some beers. Despite the fact they do not have draft beer they DO have a wide variety of drink – it’s not just saki bombs here! The sushi ordering process was standard, which was fine, one gripe I have is that they have descriptions of their specialty rolls but not their basic list. I get what’s in the normal California and spicy tuna rolls but I felt bad I had to ask the server what the green river, hot mama and whatever entailed. I just don’t like doing that since they all vary slightly. Not a major deal. The sushi came out how we expected, our server was attentive and we were in and out. If you’re looking for cheap sushi and a bill to match, this’ll do it. They do offer dishes like dolsot, fried rice and what not but I didn’t venture that way.

Came in for lunch last month and it was OK. Got a nice sized portion of my order which was a salmon based roll. We split edamame and got drinks. It’s all self serve and it was clean and run by hippie kids, no Asians. So whatever, if you are looking for Asian food or real sushi, Mr. What’s His Name is probably not even close. But if you need a fast, healthy lunch near your office, this is a fast, safe bet. I think I will go back, but it’s been about 6 weeks and it’s not in rotation. ..

I accidently ordered from this location instead of the one in McMillan, but I found out that they deliver to Short Vine from downtown. I actually prefer Cloud 9 sushi the most, but props to Mr. Sushi for delivering. My favorite roll is the Spicy Tuna here. My boyfriend and I ordered three rolls of Spicy Tuna, one roll of Philly, and a bowl of Miso soup. The delivery itself took exactly one hour, so if you want to order, do it way ahead. Surprisingly, the soup was still warm when I got it, so that’s good. Initially, when I tried to call, no one answered. It seems like this place is busy until it closes. However, when I did call to check my online order went through, they confirmed, and when I called on the hour, service was still friendly. Thanks Unilocal for the delivery options – you guys never fail me! tl;dr delivery takes a really long time, but this is one of the few sushi delivery places in town. Food is good(spicy tuna).

This restaurant is better than most sushi in the area. You can tell the sushi chefs put a lot of effort into the ingredients, tastes and presentation. The sushi was great. I was most surprised by the House Special Salad. It tasted amazing! Not sure what made it so great but it truly stood out. The service was standard for a sushi place. My server was polite, attentive and quick. It’s a little pricey but worth the extra cost.
