Friendly staff. Terrific lattes. Ordered two medium Carmel lattes, and a side shot of espresso. The espresso was very fresh and tasty. Would highly recommend!

Cool little spot. I could have talked to the girl working there for hours. Good little latte. Reese’s Pieces cookies are so yummy!

I love this little coffee shop! Their iced Caramello is delicious(if you are like me and like your coffee pale and sweet). They also carry their own beans, whole or freshly ground and in a variety of flavors. I love the smell of brewing coffee and all the choices(something for everyone). I will say that they fall short on consistency. Depending on who is making the coffee you might get it a little too sweet or a little too bitter, but since they are a small business and not a corporate chain they get a bit of leeway. Don’t forget to get a punch card and start working your way to a free drink! Such a good deal!

Good coffee. Joe’s has free wifi, a few tables and a couch for seating. Also, there’s quite a bit of outdoor seating. Joe’s tends to be open later than many of the other non-Starbucks shops around town, especially on the weekends. For that reason I often end up here, enjoying coffee and studying.

Very random. I was a visitor in Cincy and was looking for coffee near my hotel(21C). I really didn’t want to go to starbucks so I pulled out my Unilocal app and found Lookout Joe Coffee. It was a little strange of a location, but I found it easily enough. I had an iced Americano with extra ice and I gotta say my brew was strong and did not disappoint!

Lookout Joe Coffee Roasters is a solid place to grab your espresso drinks. I grab the regular Latte and mix it up from time-to-time and am never disappointed. My only wish would be that I desire a stronger espresso taste with my drink. It’s not far from being off, and I definitely watch them put the appropriate amount of shots in, so it must be just the type of product they use. In addition to the product being solid, I will say that the service is always attentive, friendly, and I never have to wait very long like I do in some places. It seems like when I go into national chains these days, the staff can’t help themselves but carry-on full fledge conversations amongst themselves about their personal life, and the lines move so slowly. You experience the opposite here.

Great little coffee place! They made my favorite, carmel hazlenut mocha, no problem. I also got a ham and cheese croissant. Delish! Large selection of drip coffee, as well as whole bean coffee. The staff was super friendly as well! :-)

Great third space for gathering, sofas, chairs, living room vibe around a roaster cozy in winter, a little loud for writing or study.

Today I visited Lookout Joe on Seventh Street. I got he Sumatra Italian roast. Nice bold flavor, low acidity. It goes down smoothly. At this place, they give customers background information on the self-serve drip coffee so you have a better understanding of what you’re drinking. I appreciate that. There are snacks and other knickknacks throughout the store. This place also makes sandwiches. But I only got the coffee this morning. I’ll be back.

Not a fan of this tiny coffee shop but I’m informed by my co-workers, it’ll do when it’s the closest one. I got hot chocolate and it literally tasted like it was Swiss Miss. They don’t have a big selection of items in there but the service does come with a smile and I know know that does mean a lot. Another thing I don’t like is you have to have a minimum purchase to use a credit/debit card. My advice, stick with Starbucks!

Falling between a 4 and a 5 star rating, I was pleasantly surprised by this joint. Although not a fair judgment call with my other reviews for cafes/coffeehouses because it’s located downtown in a small segment of the Macy’s building, it’s not really a place for sitting down and getting work done anyway. It’s more of a grab-and-go kind of place. They do have a couple tables inside and outside, but definitely uninviting unless for a simple 30 minute lunch break or small talk over coffee. However, I want to give Lookout Joe a thorough review because I feel as if the others have used inadequate words to describe its presence in the line of Cincinnati coffee providers. I’ve tried my fair share of coffee around the OTR and downtown areas and this place offers some [more] affordable drinks and food on their menu. Yes, lattes can still be $ 3, but at least it’s not a ridiculous $ 4 like at Coffee Empo. Also, I particularly noticed that a salad was less than $ 5. That’s impressive(unless quality really sucks). Their bread and pastry display looked appealing, so I can assume they do a good job with those(as also mentioned in other reviews). I did try a spinach and feta croissant(which they heat up for you) before at a different location, and that was delightful. They had about five different roasts/flavors of coffee available, and I tried the Mexican. I bit bolder than I had liked but still smooth. I was impressed by the lineup of choices, and the baristas have a wall of syrup behind them– kind of a cool and trendy way to showcase coffee as a replica of handcrafted alcoholic drinks. Some coffee houses are sketch with food, but for some reason, my heart goes out to their menu. I would come back if I could to grab a cup of hot coffee and a croissant.

Great coffee, excellent service. The friendly staff and the great coffee make this one of the best places to grab a cup or one of their snacks… try the ham and cheese or blueberry croissant…

Lookout Joe serves flavorful coffee from a handful of amazing, knowledgable baristas. I go in at least 4 times a week. The cashiers know my order, and always have a smile — no matter how long the line is. The service is excellent, and the staff couldn’t be nicer. What makes this place even better than some of the other coffee houses in town is that they regularly have 6 – 8 different coffees to choose from. Flavors include Tiramisu, Highlander Grogg, French Roast and Caramel Crunch — and those are just the ones I remember. All of them are delicious ways to start your day. If you’re ever downtown early in the morning and need a quick boost to your day, stop into Lookout Joe!

This place is a great place to grab a cup of joe(pun intended) if you’re downtown Monday to Friday, because it’s open very limited hours. pretty much only to serve the 9 – 5’ers crowd before work. I think they might be open a few hours Sat AM, but not sure. They have a great selection of various drinks, the typical coffee-only stuff and also quite a menu of creative lattes. That tends to be the category I go for, something sweet but not too heavy… and that’s their thing! They also have pastries, which I’ve never tried but sure look good! The baristas are always friendly and polite. I’ve always gone a bit later in the morning so if there’s a busy time, I’ve always missed it.

Lookout Joe is a great place to get coffee downtown! I avoid visiting places like starbucks as much as possible, and Lookout Joe’s is a wonderful alternative. The baristas are funny, nice and very skilled. The coffee is delicious and they always have a selection of a darker roast and a lighter roast. They also carry a good selection of bagels(the pumpernickel is amazing with egg and cheese) and pastries. The pastries are standard coffee shop fare but the bagels are delicious! I enjoy going in there before work every day, and if you’re downtown on a weekday(or early saturday) I reccomend getting your caffeine fix here!

Good local alternative to your homogenized Starbucks. Friendly and very very nice servers, and above average Joe. I’ve had better coffee but still this is good and got the job done and hey, let’s support the local guys!

Let me start by saying I’m not a coffee drinker, never have been, never will be. The smell of the bean makes me nauseous. Oh, but I am a big tea drinker, and this place delivers in spades. So, I work around the corner from this place and you’d miss it if you didn’t know it was there. It’s located next to the lobby of the Macy building downtown, right across the street from Rockin’ Robins on W 7th Street. Anyway, back to my wonderful review of this place. Isn’t it nice to know when you walk into a place and the person behind the counter remembers exactly what you ordered the last time you were in? I love that. So, yeah, this wonderful woman remembered that I ordered a soy chai latte, sweetened with honey and it was only the second time I’d been in the joint. That put a smile on face, and made me want to come back. It reminded me of a time gone by, when the old man working at D&S pony keg used to look forward to counting out 25 pieces of penny candy for me, and ask, «How’s your mom and dad these days, Dale?» That kind of stuff never happens anymore. I can’t imagine how many people walk through the door of that place on a daily basis, and I wonder just how many people’s drinks she remembers. So, cheers to you Miss Barista, you rock. Order the Soy Chai Latte sweetened with honey, you won’t regret it, and your taste buds will thank you in return.
