Men’s Wearhouse and Tux

All in all they were okay. The first time I went with my now-​husband to get fitted, the guy working quoted everyone the wrong prices, guarenteed us a color that didn’t exist, and didn’t correctly log anything, so all the fittings were lost. When we went back, that man had been fired. The were very apologetic and granted the price he had erroneously granted us. We unforunately still couldn’t get the color we needed though. When it came time for the wedding, they had everything there and correct.

If you are looking to purchase $ 300 suits for an entire wedding party and 2 fathers (13 suits total) stay far away. I couldn’t believe how horrible the customer service we experienced was considering how much money we spent there. It is a miracle that we ended up getting all the suits on time for the wedding day. The suit we selected was very nice and the groomsmen and our fathers really like them, but the process of actually getting the suits in the right sizes was a total nightmare. Even after getting measurements taken, the suits for many of the guys came in the wrong sizes, forcing us to return the suits and get the correct size and more alterations. They told my brother, who lived in another city and had to travel in for the wedding, that his suit wouldn’t be ready until a week after the wedding date. They apparently didn’t seem to know that he needed it by a certain date for a wedding, and the only reason it was even cutting it so close is because after he was measured, the suit they ordered him didn’t even remotely fit, so he had to send it back. Each of the groomsmen were very frustrated with the number of times they had to go to the store. It doesn’t seem like they have a very good system going on with communication between locations. My husband had to call them multiple times a week every week leading up to the wedding and it was so stressful. I’d recommend you look anywhere else but here.

Horrendous customer service — rude, short tempered, and slow. The alterations to my suit were finished late despite multiple follow-​ups to check to make sure they would be done on time. You can’t trust these people.

I have to say I’m very disappointed in my recent experience with this store. On Tuesday, ³⁄₂₂ I visited the store to get fitted for a suit. I found two that I greatly liked within my budget, and we had the suits pinned for alterations. I told the sales rep who fitted me I would be back in on Saturday the 26^th to make the purchase. I had intended on buying two suits, a few shirts, and a tie — a reasonably substantial purchase, and certainly nothing for a sales rep to sneeze at.
I entered the store today as discussed on Tuesday to meet with the same rep. He brushed me off several times, always saying he was too busy. I waited in the store for an hour without getting any help. Being a CRM, I definitely understand that it can be difficult to juggle multiple clients. However, no customer should have to wait an hour to not be helped.
I needed the suit for an upcoming wedding. If reasonable accommodations can’t be made for a customer trying to make a purchase, it is with sadness that I will not be shopping at this location again.

I had a really great experience here buying a suit for my upcoming wedding. Our sales associate was Mike, who happens to be the manager of the store. He really knows his stuff! We spent about 4 hours in the store, but I’m not complaining because it was a one stop shop for me. I got my suit, shirt, belt, tie, shoes, lapel pin, and alterations. The selection is fabulous. I’m very picky about suits, because I like a slim suit that appears custom based on the fitting. This isn’t the cheapest store, but it isn’t the most expensive either. There are added perks like free alterations for the life of the suit. If my waste or size changes, I can bring it back in for alterations even years later. Plus they have a rewards program. I spent a lot of money in the store, so it’s nice to get some kickback in the form of store credit for a future purchase. My suit is currently being altered, so I can’t speak for the execution, but Mike assured me the alterations specialist is top notch. I did meet her as she took my measurements and pinned my suit and pants while I tried it on. If everything goes as planned, I’ll be back for future professional attire for work.

I’ve been here before, mostly for tux rental – especially since my own tuxedo shrunk. (That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.) I’ve also purchased a nice overcoat for the winter and semi-​formal/​formal events. I love it and I got it at a great price. In fact, if you catch the right sale event, the otherwise rather pricey items can be gotten at a relative steal. That’s the good news.
Unfortunately, the service can be spotty. Everyone is always friendly and helpful – when the get to you, but they seem to be perpetually «understaffed» and over patronized. I get it. Stuff happens. But when it happens this often, I think it’s time to make changes. Hire more employees or create a better system for seeing customers. On my last visit, it was no different. We waited a good ten or 15 minutes just to see someone about a simple exchange. My first visit ended in a poorly altered tuxedo that I got too late to make changes before the night’s event. Now, I have to admit that once we were helped, each time, everything went really smoothly. So, they do know how to treat a customer right. And that counts for a lot in my book.
For now, they’re A-​OK.

AVOID. Not worth the $ 20 savings over the other big box local place. We waited and waited and waited to order a prom tux. Got a new guy that had no clue and had to ask for someone else. Finally ordered after catching an overcharge. Came back to pick it up and waited some more. Pants and shirt were… waaaaay too big. Like the kid was wearing his dad’s suit playing dressup. Got someone to get him smaller sizes and mark them for altering. They were swamped. We were told «well it IS prom season». Like that makes it ok. Came back after dinnner to try on and pick up. Waited and waited waited again. Seems they release alot of their staff 30 mins before they close. Which is a mistake, in my opinion, at prom season. But i digress. So, here we still sit… waiting. At least he has a dressing room now to try it all on. Let’s hope the tux holds up for saturday.

Yes, this place can be pricey if you are purchasing the well known names brands. But causal pants, shirts, and dress shoes are average price.
The customer service here was unbelievable! Every one was helpful. We were waited on hand and foot… really…to include loosening shoe laces and a lesson on how to tie a tie (multiple times).
Men, if you want to look good, go here! These people know what they are doing!

This place is so confusing. First the advertise all of these inexpensive prices on TV and then you get in the store and it is the opposite. Secondly, One time when I went in there a salesman greeted my cousin at the door trying to measure is neck and then was trying to hard to get him to buy 3 or 4 things when we only went in for one. We ended up leaving with nothing that day then we back a few weeks later and had to hunt for someone to help us. So if they can get their customer service in-​between those two I think that would be great. Over all they do have some nice looking suits and you will love the way you look lol

I needed suit pants to go with my suit jacket and I was in a hurry, so I figured I’d try here. I’d heard at least somewhat decent things, so I called to see if they could match a suit jacket to suit pants.
«I don’t know, we can try,» the guy on the other end of the phone said. «But you may just want to buy a full new suit.»
What? No. I figured I’d give them a shot since I was in the area. I walked in and was greeted by a salesman who actually helped me through the entire process. He matched my pants no problem and then it was buy one, get one, so we got another pair of pants. Great. Except he kept trying to sell me on other things too — shirts, socks, shoes, etc. I didn’t need any of it and kept telling him that, but he persisted none the less. Ah well.
Got my pants, quick tailor, good to go.
I had a little issue at the end of the day. They were having a sale on ties and I brought it up with the rep. I just assumed the price would be taken off since the sale was going on. Turns out you needed to actually had them the coupon that you printed out for them to scan, so I paid full price even though I had the coupon and had brought it up, Just frustrating.
Then it was a strange when I went to pick stuff up. Without someone to greet me that time, I stood by the counter and waited forever. I could see staff members walking by but no one came over to help. I was clearly there to pick up and not buy so their mind was not on me. When I finally got someone’s attention, I got my pants no problem, quick and easy. But it was frustrating leading up to it.
Bottom line is, they’re looking for the bottom line. The service is ok, but they’ll steer you to what’s most expensive. Check price tags and find what’s right for you.

I don’t get a lot of tuxedos, a few for proms, a few for other weddings, but I would like to think that I am knowledgeable enough to know how a tuxedo is supposed to fit… it’s just supposed to fit. Men’s Wearhouse (in Kenwood at least) obviously has other opinions.
I first went into Men’s Wearhouse about 3 months ago, 3 months before the wedding date. When I walked in I wasn’t greeted or helped or really even looked at. I had to make an effort myself to go and find someone to help me get fitted for a Tux. When I finally found someone, I was passed off 3 – 4 times to another employee, all of whom didn’t seem to know what they were doing. I was finally fitted by a younger lady who seemed nice enough. As she was doing the fitting though I noticed she wasn’t really being all that precise and was routinely saying «eh, that looks close enough» which is not what I wanted to hear but since I am too nice I let it go. I was able to pay either a $ 20 deposit or the full $ 140 (not the cheapest, especially for the service, as you’ll read) for the tux which was nice to have the choice.
The date of the wedding rolls around and I get an email saying that my tux was available to pick up at my convenience, which again was nice to have that reminder (not that I’d forget…). As I walk in to the storefront again, I am again not greeted and I am AGAIN forced to fetch out an employee which when I found one AGAIN passed me off to 3 – 4 other employees when finally the same girl who fitted me grabbed me and told me she would help me out. I went into the changing room to try on the tux and sure enough almost nothing fit on me. I came out and with my girlfriends second opinion we came to the consensus that the tux didn’t fit at all. Apparently this was a trending experience with my brother’s bachelor party as when I got to the wedding all the groomsmen complained of items not fitting and terrible customer service.
The shirt I was given was a 17 neck, which was actually correct (I have a big neck, don’t make fun) but the problem came when I, and the other groomsmen, were informed that they didn’t have fitted shirts available to them. This means that my 17 neck is getting an XXL shirt… I am 5’10 and weigh 175 pounds, I don’t wear an XXL shirt. The employees solution «well, once you put on the vest, it will cover it up». Sure, except for the huge arms, baggy tail, and sleeves that I could fit three of my arms into. The pants, same problem. I have a bigger waist but am not the same height or weight as a typical 36 waist, the result was a parachute set of pants that barley touched my ankles Another trending problem with the groomsmen.
Lastly, and certainly not least, three groomsmen were given the wrong color tuxedos. Two had the wrong color vest, and one had a completely wrong jacket. The guys that had the wrong vests were actually told they would have to pay the overnight shipping charge if they wanted it by the wedding day. When they said no, the store reluctantly complied. The person with the wrong jacket? Well, they just pulled one off of a mannequin that looked «close enough» to the ones we had. When my brother, the groom, called in they offered him a %10 coupon which he didn’t want, he just wanted his groomsmen to have the correct attire for his wedding. They apologized but still didn’t nothing spectacular to make up for their errors and negligent service.
I know that tux fittings shouldn’t be this difficult, especially for a wedding where they are there to make everything possible as easy as possible for the groom and wedding party. I just didn’t see anything that made me think they really ever cared. If a customer has a concern and voices that concern to you, your response shouldn’t be «well, the vest will cover it up» or «Tux’s are supposed to be big» or «you’ll have to pay for the overnight shipping if you want it by Saturday».
I don’t know if all other Men’s Wearhouses are run this terribly but I have been told Tri-​County is really good. Maybe they need to bring in some people from that location because the staff that is there now might possibly be the worst set of individuals I have ever seen try to work together. And this isn’t just my opinion either… the manager that took my returns voiced it to me as well when he cursed multiple times in front of me and other customers about his staff (really?). Just another nail in the coffin as far as I am concerned for this Men’s Wearhouse location. Sorry guys.

We used Men’s Warehouse for tux rentals for our wedding in 2008. I really liked how we could get our measurements in any location across the country and have them sent into this location for preparation. Also the tuxes can be returned to any location as well. Makes for easy wedding planning.

You’ve all seen the commercials. The ones with the older, bearded guy who’s a bit on the creepy side and tells us guys how we’re gonna end up liking the way we look. Never really seen a guy so excited about clothes. Of course, given how much they charge, I can see why.
Located in Sycamore Plaza across the street from Kenwood Mall, Mens Warehouse is in a little strip-​mall kind of building that is surprisingly bare. Johnny Rockets is on the other side, so there’s that. Walking in you see all the well-​dressed men and women circling the store eyeing the customers; like hungry sharks circling chum. They’re polite and professional and all, but yeah, they’re on you the moment you walk in trying to sell you as much as they can.
Now you can get pretty much get whatever you need. Suits, shirts, ties, pants, shoes, socks, cuff links, even some small luggage. The employees aren’t going to show you anything that’s going to save you money, but rather they’re going to push the most expensive options they have. So if you want to save money, you’re going to have to do the hunting on your own. Even then, things are a bit pricey.
Quality of clothes are okay. Although I must admit I’m not very pleased with the fact that I paid $ 100 for a pair of shoes that started falling apart after about three months. Sales people are polite enough, although they can be a little aggressive. I’ve bought two suits and a number of pants and shirts from this place. They’re all holding up well enough.
Still not happy about the shoes though.
