Paolo’s shop is in the same neighborhood I grew up in. As a kid, I would pass by the window and put my face up to the glass and«ohh» and«ah» at the beautiful pieces of jewelry in the window. I always knew that when it came time for me to get engaged, that was the place I was going to get my ring. Well, the time finally came in February, and of course I went to Paolo and the experience was more than I could have hoped for. My mother and I went in together and he made us feel right at home with a glass of Pino Grigio and proceeded to show us all of our ring options and designs. He had great ideas of how to craft the ring and he was wonderful about working within our budget. His patience during the decision making process was stellar! I am so excited about our purchase and so glad to be wearing a Paolo piece as my engagement ring.

I love Paolo! His jewelry designs are elegant and sleek. Customer service is wonderful, and he allows you to take your time looking around the store. Paolo also has a beautiful estate collection, which is where my fiancé found my engagement ring. Whatever you get from Paolo’s it is sure to be unique and top quality.

Paolo is an artist, plain and simple. If you are looking for a standard piece of jewelry that you can get anywhere, well Paolo can get it for you but his specialty is creating works of art. He has designed several pieces for me and they are my favorites. I have a custom made birthstone ring as well as a special custom gift for my mother. If there is a design that you can’t find anywhere or a piece that you have been dreaming about but don’t know who can make it for you, Paolo is the jeweler for you. Stop in and look at his designs and let him create the perfect piece of custom jewelry for you.

Next door and actually connected to Tink’s Café(you can walk back and forth from inside) is a high quality modern jeweler called Paolo. Paolo is run by owner and lead designer Paolo Salamone and, according to its website, was formed in 1992. Their showroom is very spacious(see photo), thanks to its second specialty in modern interior space design for home, office, and business space. As far as their jewelry goes, it is unique and classy, but of course expensive. My friend who I was with was handed a business card/$ 25 gift card, which pretty much shows their price level. You don’t go handing out $ 25 gift cards unless your stuff is expensive. Either way, it is high quality jewelry, so I guess you get what you pay for. I noticed a sign in the store that said they were the number one place around for wedding rings, which is probably what their website is referring to when it says«Best of City — Cincinnati Magazine.» I also noticed a small selection of watches, in addition to the traditional jewelry. Overall, Paolo is a very good store with top of the line modern jewelry, «including platinum, 18k colored gold, diamond and gemstone jewelry.» The employee who greeted/attended to us was extremely nice too.

How do these tchotschkerias stay in business? Paolo featured ultramodern gizmo’s like clocks, and pens, and mobiles, and business card cases, and carafes, and lamps, and so forth. To me it was a cut-rate Atys, which is a much better example of the breed.
