Steak ‘n Shake

Food sat in serving window with no waitress in sight. Waitress then brought shakes and forgot chocolate chips in one. Almost finished shakes when meals were finally served. So much mustard on burgers it was dripping out of buns. Disgusting. Menu didn’t even say mustard was on sandwiches. Fries were cold. People waiting to pay while only waitress seen was putting napkins on tables and would not stop to seat people or ring people out. Several times noticed wait staff huddled in back talking. Most tables empty by this time. When we went to pay no one would come take our money for several minutes. Never again will we go to this location. Ridiculous.

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. First off our waitress yelled at me and my friends! She was extremely rude and on top of that she messed up some orders. We waited for almost an hour and within that hour every table around us was dirty. Bad customer service and extremely dirty.

I love the food but the shakes are not that good. The main reason I have stopped going here is because the service is the worse. Rude workers and the food takes years. Waiting to get a seat forever then waiting for someone to help you is even worse. Even when the place is empty. The drive thru… Forget about it. You better off standing on the street and getting a burger faster than here. Stay away.

I don’t know why I even bother coming here anymore. The service is terrible every single time. If you order a milkshake, good luck. Ours didn’t arrive until we were finished eating our meal. They are always short staffed when it comes to servers, but the kitchen was full of people laughing and goofing off. When we went up to pay our bill I made eye contact with four different people in the kitchen and none of them said a word to me. We waited at the counter for 5 minutes before a waitress who had been chatting with someone in the kitchen the entire time said, «I’ll be there in a second,» in a very annoyed tone, as if we were bothering her. Unless you’re helping another customer or somebody in the kitchen, there is no excuse to leave somebody waiting at the counter, just so you can finish your conversation. So rude. I actually hate it here and I am considering contacting corporate. It’s not just me, read all of the other reviews on here and you’ll see how horrible this place is.

A total joke. Go someplace else to eat. The service was appalling. Our entire table waited 56 minutes just for menus which two waitstaff had promised to bring over, but forgot… twice. Only half the table got drinks. The food portions were tiny, the seasoning on the fries tastes like plastic, and our drinks were never refilled. The interior was dirty with a layer of grime. Will not be eating at Steak n Shake again.

We love Steak & Shake. Our meal tonight came out quickly but the fries were old and cold and we couldn’t get our servers attention. Finally, after we finished our burgers he came back around and replaced our fries. Looks like this location needs a little help from corporate based on their overall rating!

Urg, I’m getting to the point where I just hate all Steak ‘n Shakes. The service is always garbage, and that was especially true at this location. It took FOREVER, like at least 10 minutes for them to even acknowledge we were standing there waiting to be seated. The dining area had maybe 3 tables with patrons sitting in them and it was around 7:00pm on a Saturday night. The waitress was basically MIA the entire meal and was very hard to flag down, especially considering that the place was basically empty.
However, the food arrived very, very fast and was exactly what we ordered and how we had ordered it. So this was a pretty redeeming factor. Otherwise, the restaurant was clean and the prices are super reasonable. I just wish the service was better.

SAD — must be the SLOWEST possible drive thru on the planet — horribly managed, although plenty of staff, the are simply clueless in how to run lunch — I’ll never go back and I like steak & shake food… if you can get it

Awful! Will never go back. Worst service and the place is filthy. Management literally does not care either. No one seems to work and you wait forever for sub par food and your order is wrong at that. It’s too bad because our family loves steak and shake…

Worst service imagine able. Painfully slow, simple orders messed up, We waited twenty minutes for our server when we arrived and then 15 more for water.
Horrible, and this is the second time. We will never come back.
How are they still in business???

I don’t know how theses people still in business! There is like more than 10 employees in the kitchen and it takes forever to order a shake.

We dined in at 2 am on July 5^th. There was one other table occupied when we arrived and they left shortly after that. Only two other people came in while we were there. Our server was very nice and he apologized that they were short staffed and it was only him and one other person working. We ordered milkshakes and our food at the same time. After 10 – 15 minutes, he brought one plate of food and a few minutes later the other. There was no mention of the shakes.
He went outside after he brought our food and was gone the whole time we were there until we were ready to check out. The other person working followed him outside too! A fryer was beeping and the phone was ringing but all employees were outside! I ordered grilled cheese with pickle, it arrived with a hamburger on it and no pickle! We never got the milkshakes! Although the server was nice and apologized and it was the middle of the night, this was still a terrible experience and we will not be back.

We came in for a late dinner. There were only 3 people working, a cook, 1 waitress and a manager. When we first got there we were 1 of 4 tables. About 10 minutes later people started filling the place. We ordered our food and and it took a long time! The fries were stale and the milkshake started off. After I ate I watched the cook walk out of the kitchen talk to the waitress and then, with gloved hands touch the wall in 3 different places and then start cooking again. We watch about 4 tables walk out during the rush and someone said that its always that bad and that slow at that Steak in Shake no matter when you come in. We will not be going back to that one again.

2 stars only because our burgers were good.
Extremely slow service– only 1 server who was running around but 3 tables left without ordering while we were there. The table next to us came in about the same time as us and didn’t get to even order their drinks by the time we had our food.
The fries were cold and stale so we left them uneaten.

This Steak ‘n Shake used to be a nice place to eat, but lately it’s been abysmal. I attempted to order through the drive-​thru on Friday, May 8^th at 7 p.m. and no one bothered to help me. After waiting 5 minutes I decided to check the window. A couple minutes later I looked up the phone number and called, asking for someone to take my order at the window. The lady that answered the phone told me they weren’t taking orders through the drive-​thru. No reason, no «I’m sorry you sat there for almost 10 minutes.» I left and ate elsewhere.
There have been other problems like them not honoring my coupon because the order got rung up incorrectly and overall shoddiness but the drive-​thru issue had me so mad that it got me to leave this review.
My friends and I used to stop here after every Reds game we’d attend but we’re going to find somewhere else. The lazy idiots that work here only care about themselves.

Quite possibly the slowest Steak ‘n Shake on the planet, both dining in and at the drive thru (x3 as long at night). Usually understaffed on the floor and in the kitchen. I’ve heard the kitchen guys openly complain and yell at each other and the manager on several occasions. Frankly it just makes for a bad vibe. I’ve had some decent dine in experiences here but the bad outnumber the good. This is the most convenient SnS location for me but today I decided to post this review and will no longer being my business to this location. Ownership and management need to address some serious issues here.
As I write this, we’ve been seated for 30 mins without having our food served. There is one waitress who has 8 tables (and she is doing her best with a smile no less). The guy who might be the manager has yelled at the one cook and waitress twice with several patrons awkwardly looking at each other due to the vibe. I’ve seen 4 or 5 separate groups stand around without being greeted and ultimately leave after 5 mins. Train wreck for a Sunday morning breakfast crowd.

This is the worst place every, not only is the staff nasty the kitchen is dirty, I would not recommend any human eat food prepared in this buliding, will post pics. The staff walked past me for 20min, never asking me if I wanted to dine in or carry out, when I asked if someone could take my order, the lady said yeah and walked away. It’s was about another 5min later, when I hear the people standing in the front say that no one had spoken to them and they were there when I can in. Don’t go there in short!

Every time and I mean every time I come here this place leaves me with complaints. I love the food but the service is absolutely terrible. Drive thru is almost always closed, the kitchen was blatantly talking poorly about the customers when I went in to order my burger, which I watched sit on the counter for five minutes before being put together and bagged. Hands down worst customer service and absolutely awful presentation for the customers. I would rather drive the any other location than give this one another chance.

It seems this place is staffed by the scum of the earth. It takes forever to get an order! The staff is laying around on the customer counter acting entirely unprofessional towards the customers.
It seems they hire staff that makes significantly less than minimum wage — I don’t know where else you could find this crew.

I love the food for the money at Steak n Shake, if I’m looking for a quick greasy burger it’s the best option out there for the price. This location is the slowest and dirtiest I have been to. The staff all mill about like a bunch of zombies, I half expect Carl and Rick to come rushing from the back and start hacking heads at any moment. It takes forever to get seated in an empty restaurant, half of that problem is because most of the tables are always dirty the other half is that I don’t think they have a single employee that actually gives a crap.
Once you actually twist someone’s arm hard enough to take your order you better not think your food will be coming in a timely fashion. Timely isn’t in these people’s vocabulary.
I just walked out without being seated and opted to go across the street to Subway, and I hate Subway. So take that for what it’s worth to you.
