I had found out about this place based on there special sundae milkshakes speciality drinks and was anxious to try it, but once I got there I was told that the those speciality drinks are only sold during hours of 12 – 4. I was a little disappointed but the bartender made up for it and made us some special drinks. It a cool looking place and the drinks are different but good. I am hoping I will soon get to try those speciality milkshake drinks I just got get down there during those hours

Love this place. Every time I come here I’m never disappointed. Delicious drinks. Knowledgeable staff. Jack concocted my new favorite drink– the Irish morning(Jameson, 1215 cold press, egg white and chocolate bitters). Highly recommend. The band playing tonight is an excellent addition. A must see to all Cincy visitors and residents. Two thumbs way, way up!

Love the«speakeasy» vibe of Sundry and Vice. Was here with a large group for a birthday party and they reserved a corner of the place for us and were super accommodating to our group– making suggestions and letting our hosts bring in snacks for everyone as well :) They have cocktails on tap and a good selection of draft beers, and their bartenders know what they are doing– mixologists for sure! A swanky yet retro kind of place, a great post-work hangout or a Saturday night date for your pre-dinner cocktails.

This is a Great place! The Staff was amazing and made me feel very comfortable. The bartender suggested an amazing drink which was made from all fresh ingredients. You can even bring your pups. Will definitely be back!

Super cool vibe in this place. Bartenders are super informative and knowledgeable and have never given me a bad recommendation. These are high quality cocktails so be prepared to pay high quality prices. If you’re only going to stop in once at least go on Sunday’s between noon and four and get a booze milkshake. They are handcrafted experimental booze milkshakes that change weekly… They are ummmmm… AMAZING. Also they let me bring my dog in so that always get’s some extra love for me. GOHERE!

The one thing we’ve been missing desperately since we moved down to Lexington is a speakeasy style bar, a replacement for our favorite bars in NY and CT. So when we decided to take a day trip to eat and drink our way around Cincinnati, I was thrilled to find Sundry & Vice on Unilocal. It looked like the perfect place to grab a couple of cocktails while we waited an insanely long time for a table in the super popular OTR neighborhood. I’m so glad we had that several hour wait because S&V is everything I’ve been looking for. The bar is gorgeous and perfectly themed even sporting a sign outside that simply reads«Elixirs.» It gets even better inside when you’re transported back in time, or at least to a hipsters dream of the prohibition era. So far we’ve had the Night Cure, Rhubarb Pimm’s Cup, Draft Old Fashioned, and New York Sour; all of which were fantastic. I’d order any one of them again if I weren’t so set on drinking my way through the entire delicious menu. The bartenders, while not super friendly, are really great at what they do. And I can deal with some surliness from my bartender when he’s serving up some incredible drinks. If anything, it just kind of adds to the atmosphere. After two visits I’m pretty sure that this is my new favorite bar, I only wish it was slightly closer!

Went here late one night while I was visiting Cincinnati. It was a great way to end the night. It wasn’t too crowded, and their house cocktails are delicious. I would love to back at an earlier time so I can enjoy the atmosphere more when I am not so tired.

If you drink fireball, do not come here. They will turn you away. That is in part why I enjoy Sundry and Vice so much. These bartenders seriously know what they are doing and take a lot of pride in their craft. All the cocktails I’ve had here are spectacular. Yes, they will cost around $ 10 but considering each drink takes about 3 – 5 minutes to make, I believe that it is worth the cost. My favorite cocktail, their delicious Bloody Mary, is only available on the weekends, and is a perfect hangover cure or just a great drink in itself. The 1920’s apothecary atmosphere is simply icing on the cake. Definitely one of my favorite spots for a quiet drink.

The best things come from inventors who have resources at their disposal. Let’s take a quick look back at history: Light bulbs. Washable markers. That was a very short look back at history. But I think I’ve proven my point. The competent and well-equipped crew at Sundry and Vice are the inventors our children’s children will write cocktail cookbooks about. I don’t even order off the menu anymore, I ask what new things they are cooking up. In fact, I’m so excited about asking what’s in their heads, I forget to check-in. Each craftsperson behind the bar(read: bartender) has their own secret menu, like an In ‘n’ Out Burger of alcohol. Except, you won’t want to go out because the ambiance is perfect for sitting and enjoying the deliciousness. Be sure to invest some time scoping out the décor, as it’s all very intentional and entertaining. I appreciate the uniqueness of this bar, and it stands out amongst the throngs of other craft cocktail places, as it holds a special purpose for my evenings out: When I want to try something new, not just new to me, but new to the world.

My favorite cocktail bar in Cincinnati! This is the only bar I have never ordered a beer at. They have beer… and I love beer… but their selection of cocktails and liquors is fantastic. They have cocktails that are light or strong, sweet or herbal, just right or over the top. One of my favorite cocktails is the Penicillin which is a semisweet Scotch based cocktail with a large ice cube spritzed with a peaty Islay whiskey giving you a nose of smokiness with each sip. I also really liked one of the creamy egg white cocktails. On weekends they serve boozy ice cream floats because what makes a Sunday Funday better than ice cream and booze. Additionally they have a few cocktails on tap if you don’t feel like waiting for standards such as an Old Fashioned or a Pimm’s cup. They also have a nice selection of liquors for those that enjoy sipping them neat or on the rocks. I often enjoy the Hakushu Japanese whiskey they keep in stock. The apothecary theme is noticeable in all the cool old medicine bottles and assorted items in the window cases. Sitting on the bar is a glass jar filled with candies. A speak easy vibe floats through the air with the dark atmosphere lit by small table lamps and even a street lamp. Even the glassware that all the drinks are served in matches perfectly with the old-fashioned theme.

This is definitely a lovely place to get a high quality cocktail and/or bring classy friends. The bar staff is totally well versed in all kinds of cocktails, not just the ones on their menu. For example, I had the a fantastic New York Sour here(recommended). This is not something most bars can say, even ones that call themselves cocktail bars. The bartenders are dressed really well, have all been very thoroughly trained, they all make each cocktail the exact same, even with the exact same mannerisms, almost robot like, but it a cool and entertaining way. The prices are pretty steep so don’t plan to spend too much time here. IF you can grab a booth, it would be a really nice pre– or post-date spot to stop and get a drink and have a conversation, the lighting, service and décor is romantic. However, depending on many factors such as day of the week, time of the night, season, etc., this place could be completely packed with no room to even stand, in which case I would suggest you pop over to Vestry, next to Music Hall for your beverage needs. Summary: If you fancy a great cocktail, check it out!

A coworker recommended this place and it was a solid choice for a pre-dinner drink and conversation. I can’t remember the name of my drink but it was a take on a Pisco Sour which I had the opportunity to devour on a trip to Chile a few years ago– this was just as good if not better. Remarkably, they actually had ran out of their stock of pisco but were able to deliver the drink just as well with gin. Super refreshing and couldn’t reco it enough. The bartender was pretty friendly– made great conversation with recommending nearby restaurants and of course, providing insight into their drinks. You can tell they take quite a bit of time handcrafting their cocktails and pay close attention to the delivery. Super glad to have been only one of two patrons at the bar at the time; not sure what the wait would be like at a peak time but I can say it would be worth it! The bar theme and attention to detail aren’t to be missed.

Gotta love a good cocktail bar! We ended up here to close the night on a recent trip to Cincinnati. This is a perfect spot to sip a craft cocktail and make conversation with friends. Each cocktail on the menu is made with finesse and care. It is clear that Sundry and Vice views cocktails as art and they do a very nice job of displaying that to their customers. This isn’t a huge spot, but there was enough seating for everyone the night that we were there. The bartender was friendly and we had a really nice time. Sunday and Vice would be a go to spot for me if I lived in Cincy!

What a seriously cool bar! Great atmosphere(trendy without trying too hard, dark without being pitch black). The décor is unique with wall art and curios reflecting old pharmacy products. And those bartenders know their stuff! I actually had one of their draft cocktails, a Manhattan, and I was very, very impressed. Seating can be quite hard to find on a busy weekend night, but with some patience you can acquire one(and then don’t leave!).

A really great cocktail lounge that puts a lot of pride and TLC into everything they create. The booths offer a little privacy from the crowd, if you’re lucky enough to snag one. The music isn’t overly loud, but in such a small space, people attempting to talk over one another increases the noise level quickly. I appreciate that this isn’t one of those lounges that turns into a club-type atmosphere later in the evening. It remains chill and sophisticated. Everything is delicious, but I really recommend you consider the cocktails with egg white. It offers the perfect foam on top which creates a really smooth texture. My personal favorite it the High Road. It’s one of those cocktails I could order over and over again.

The bartenders at Sundry and Vice really know what they’re doing. There are plenty of great places in OTR to get cocktails, but S&V make it more interesting by having a unique cocktail menu, cocktails on tap, great craft beer selections on tap, AND good service. Really, this place has it all. The décor at S&V is dark and intimate, with small booths and tables along the wall. I would recommend coming here for after-dinner drinks or for a date, but I would probably try to avoid if you have a huge group because it can get a little crowded. There’s no waitress service, and you just order at the bar, which I think makes service run smoother and easier. The bartenders walked us through the menu(even though they were busy), and offered a few suggestions. They really know what they were talking about, and it showed when they put together my cocktail… They tasted it before serving it to me, and put extra special care into each ingredient. Yes, the cocktails are pricey($ 9-$ 11), but you get what you pay for. Overall, a great place to come when I want a cocktail and my husband wants a good craft beer selection… the best of both worlds!

I checked out Sundry and Vice this past Friday before heading to dinner. While the drinks are expensive, they are handmade and taste delicious. I ordered a drink(I believe the name is…“From the road of Cusco /Machu Cusco”, or something to that affect), that was a play on the traditional Peruvian Pisco Sour. While in Peru, I had the opportunity to taste multiple kinds of pisco and Pisco Sours, and I believe Sundry and Vice’s version was the closest to the authentic version! It was sweet and delicious, definitely reminding me of my time in Peru. Additionally, the décor and atmosphere of this place is outstanding. When I arrived, my boyfriend and I quickly snagged a booth to share in the slightly empty bar, but by the time we left, the place was filled with fans. If you are looking to check out a new and unique bar in OTR — I highly recommend stopping by Sundry and Vice.

I’ve visited on three separate occasions, all very different– saturday afternoon, a weekday evening, and late on a saturday, and every time Sundry and Vice has had amazing service and maintained a cool vibe. The saturday afternoon visit was on the birthday of one of the bartenders who was making these absurd milkshakes that were as impressive as they were delicious, but they have coke floats on their weekend menu all the time. These are definitely worth a try. At night the bar can get a bit busy but there are usually large booths free and standing room for a small group. The bar itself can get busy but the bartenders are efficient. The drinks here are pricey but you can find some rare beers on tap and the cocktails are unique and large with fresh ingredients. I tried the Dr. Shiloh’s System Vitalizer last weekend and it had a strong ginger kick but was delicious. This place is great to take out of town guests or for a cool break from the park. Its also a little more low key than most of OTR so its good for a change of pace.

This is my jam! Gentlemen wearing bow ties, stirring up classic cocktails in beakers with substantial square ice cubes, to the swinging, bluesy sounds of yesteryear. High quality liquor choices and an open, swanky atmosphere. It’s not huge, it’s loud, and it takes a long time to get a drink. These are all positives. And you get your bill in an old book.

What a cool cocktail lounge! I have to say that as a pharmacist, I cannot not love this place’s décor. So many apothecary bottles, beautiful window glass cases with all sorts of little potions and concoctions, medical jars and not be missed: wallpaper made of authentic prescriptions with recipes for opium, cocaine and medical marijuana among others :) The wooden bar, vintage lamps, elegant bartenders, lovely sink in front of restrooms, it all calls for applause! The names of cocktails are also pharma-related and really cute(‘Penicillin’ was my favorite). I have to say I enjoyed my time in this place a lot, the atmosphere and décor make it a wonderful place for a good drink in style. What is really great about the spot: it is very very cosy, but not girlie, finally some lounge that gentlemen will surely enjoy as much as ladies. Now about the cocktails themselves: good, but not the best. Since it’s a new place, the list of cocktails is quite compact and most of them are based on bourbon/whiskey with bitters, which is not what Ladies would choose(or is it?). I find the idea of not having sweet/fruity cocktails on the menu quite brave, since this is what I believe most of women would order(just my feeling). I hope over a time, the list of mixes will be extended and the flavors will be the biggest magnet in this highly competitive OTR area. Definitely place to visit, 4 stars from me. Would love to give 5th when the cocktails are more fabulous :)
