As weird as this sounds, at this restaurant the rosemary potatoes stole the show for me. I ordered the pretzel, mustard, chicken(sandwich) on a pretzel bun and it was fairly good – though I’m not a fan of any restaurant that uses iceberg lettuce in any way. The sandwich had a little bite from jalapeños and the chicken was cooked well. I couldn’t stop going back to the potatoes though. They are enough to get me back to try something else on the menu.

Embarrassing service and an outdated menu. We came in the Wednesday night before Christmas for some drinks after dinner. We arrived shortly after 10:00. A waiter approached us and asked if we were here for some drinks, to which we said yes. He replied«Well, good. Because the kitchen is closed. Just so you know», in a surprisingly snotty tone. It was embarrassing as we were the ones who had suggested Tellers as a good spot for our out of town friends and family. Although the website lists Wednesday night closing time as 1AM, by 11PM, the place had pretty much cleared out. It was our table of 5 and one other table of two. Our waiter could not have been more obvious that he was trying to get us to leave. At one point we asked if he wanted us to move to the bar and order our remaining drinks from the bartender. He said no, but I wish he had said yes. He kept ignoring us, and at one point actually walked away from the table after we asked to order another round of drinks, and literally shot us a dirty look as he walked to the bar. It’s not like we were a group of rowdy drunks. It was awkward. At midnight, he called last call and finished running us out. I understand that Hyde Park Square is not the center of late night action, but if you are going to say you are open until 1AM and I base my decision to come there based on that, please don’t act like I am the one putting you out. Although the bad service was the most noticeable downside of the evening, I was also surprised at how stale the offerings were on the drink list. It seems like some of the same beers have been on tap at this place since they opened 20 years ago. Don’t bother checking the website for their beer list either. Less than half of what is on the site is actually available in the restaurant. It’s time to change it up at this place.

I went there with a large group, and a pre-selected menu. They had a very good beer menu. The décor was also very nice. I was definitely let down by the food, though. The descriptions on the menu were not very descriptive — for example, my duck came on a pizza, and I am sure there was no pizza listed on the menu provided. Others were startled that the chicken was in sandwich form. This may not be an issue on the main menu, but I was disappointed in the menu provided.

We came here on a Saturday night with my in laws while visiting Cincinnati. I would agree with most Unilocalers that Teller’s deserves 3.5 stars. We ordered 2 orders of the buffalo egg rolls to share between 8 adults since Unilocalers raved about these. We all agreed they were super tasty and well done. My husband and I ordered the cajun pasta and burger to split. Both were decently done but neither stood out to us. The burger was just a typical burger and the pasta was fine without being great. It got pretty crowded around 7 so reservations are recommended. We most likely won’t be back to Teller’s with the other restaurant options in Hype park that we would like to try.

We had some friends coming into town the night before thanksgiving so we decided to all get together for dinner at Tellers. I called and made a reservation early in the day. Later on, I had to call to change the number of people and call again to change the time due to our friends hitting traffic on their way in town. The host and manager were very understanding and super helpful with everything. Once we got there, they had 2 bottles of champagne chilled and waiting for us. The service was fantastic along with the food. We will definitely be back for more buffalo chicken egg rolls and scallop tocino!

In from Cleveland, was very impressed with this place. –Cool setting, very trendy, maybe even a little hipster. –Parking is not the easiest to find –Food, portion size seems to be good, prices are fair, $ 10 – 13 for brunch –Service was good i’d eat here again

We finally made it to the bank! My boyfriend and I had a nice, quiet brunch here this weekend. Brunch on Saturdays here starts at 11AM, so there was already a small line when we right arrived as the clock struck 11. The restaurant is spacious, so we had no trouble getting a table. With a location right on Hyde Park Square, I thought it would get crowded as time went on, but it stayed half full. Most people came to enjoy the breakfast cocktails at the bar, so people were in and out. My boyfriend ordered the goetta hot brown with smashed potatoes, which was really tasty. I ordered the banana fosters French toast. While this satisfied my sweet tooth, the goetta hot brown definitely won out. The portions at Tellers are HUGE. I didn’t make it halfway through the French toast, and my boyfriend still had a few bites left of his plate. The service was prompt, and the coffee smooth. I really appreciated the 80s throwback music(Phil Collins, anyone?). The prices were also fair – French toast was $ 10 while the hot brown was $ 11. If you are in the Hyde Park area and want a quick, filling brunch, stop by Tellers.

Unbelievably bland food, which was disappointing because the menu sounded at least moderately interesting(though very limited). Small portions. Expensive. Servers were irritable. Just did not have a good experience here. The setup is very cool. I like the old bank appearance but that’s all it really had going for it.

I just wanted to add something to my previous review to make sure everyone knows about Teller’s stellar(rhyme unintentional) outdoor patio/bar area. I feel stupid for saying this, but I have been to Teller’s twice previously and had never check out the patio area for some reason. I recently had dinner out there and it was a perfect setting. Away from the hustle and bustle of the street, kind of like a little oasis. So if you’ve been to Teller’s and didn’t experience the outdoor area, I highly recommend it before the summer ends!

I’ve been to Tellers twice now for brunch and both times have been very impressed. The food is soo good that I had a hell of time trying to decide what to have! The service is top notch, especially Laura, my sever, she was very helpful with questions I had of menu items and also was very patient since it took me a minute to decide on something! The space is beautiful as it used to be a old bank, lots of room and even a outside patio. Highly recommended! :)

Some friends and I decided to come here for brunch, there was about 12 of us and they were able to accommodate all of us which was great. I ordered the cowboy up which included pulled pork, beans, breakfast potatoes and a texas today. Not your typical brunch but wanted to try something different. It was definitely different but good. The breakfast potatoe was a crossover between a potatoe salad and mash potatoe I didn’t like it as much but still aye it. The waitress was very attentive and was always there to refill our drinks. The atmosphere was great we sat at the top and had a great view of the farmers market That was going on outside.

Sat on the outdoor patio for my first dinner at Teller’s tonight and had a lovely experience. My friend and I were there during happy hour, which had great drink discounts. Per several Unilocal reviews, we tried the Buffalo Chicken Egg Roll appetizer, which didn’t disappoint. I got the Strawberry & Goat Cheese salad as my entrée, which featured a generous portion of pecan crusted goat cheese. For a cheese aficionado like me, it was heaven! For my next trip, I plan on stopping by for brunch! Definitely a go to Hyde Park restaurant.

Let me start be Tellering you something. See what I did there? Moving on… Tellers has become somewhat of a date spot for us, and we stop in every few weeks, always ordering the bbq chicken pizza and the club. I’m a huge pizza fan, and have eaten at pretty much every pizza joint in town, and I can honestly say, Tellers is in my top 5 in the pizza department. The club is also always delicious. For an appetizer we do the hummus, which is yummy and fresh every time. Service wise is mostly pretty awesome, sitting in the vault sounds cool in theory but made me feel like I was eating dinner in my mom’s closet. The upstairs is always a favorite. Tellers seems to be a later dinner crowd, but I’d suggest always going w a reservation. All in all its a good spot and we definitely keep it a regular on our rotation.

The upstairs patio is perfect for a spring Sunday brunch. My girlfriends and I decided to mix it up and go with the blood orange mimosas which turned out to be a great choice. They were each served with a mini bottle of champagne and extra juice or the equivalent of 2 mimosas anywhere else. Choosing a meal proved to be a little more difficult. I ended up choosing the breakfast pizza and was not disappointed. The best part had to be the lemon infused goat cheese which added a little brightness to very rich meal. The pizza is big enough to share or take home for leftovers.

I do LOVE those buffalo chicken egg rolls, but the rest of their food is just not doing it for me. We only went back because we had a gift card, we did not try the pizzas again(see issue detailed in previous review), we got entrees. Short rib grilled cheese sounds good right? Well this one was flavorless. We also tried the special fish and chips, they gave a huge portion, and the fries were all soggy. I am sure I can’t stay away from the buffalo chicken egg rolls forever but I don’t really want to go back.

From the first time I was exposed to this place I was a fan. Its right on Hyde Park square located in an old bank. You can actually eat in the vault. They have an upper level and a nice rooftop patio. I have eaten here many times over the years and it is always a pleasant experience. They have a good selection of appetizers, the dinner menu is nice, and they have an excellent brunch. They seem to have made that lean towards a pub with a heavy focus on beer. I was disappointed to see this transition happen over the last few years. They are surrounded by pubs. They, in my opinion, were unique. Some of that uniqueness has faded for me. They have a great selection of beers though. About 20 taps and a good size selection of bottles. The wine list is not what it used to be but is still good. They also have a full bar. I think this will always be a place I will consider whenever in the area, I just miss the old Tellers.

The environment alone is a reason you should visit at least once. It is a neat idea that you are eating in a bank. You can even eat in the vault! It is on Erie in a cute neighborhood so you can walk around if you have a wait. However, I have never had to wait. I have come for brunch on a weekend and for lunch on a weekend. Both times I did not have to wait. They have TV’s so you can watch sports. The food was average. I had a salad and the bananas foster french toast. I like bananas, but the taste was a bit off. I will say that all of the food was fresh though, which is always nice. It was a bit overpriced for the average food. I do not have any complaints about the service. I will say they took their time though bringing the check. They were all friendly though and helpful with menu suggestions. There is street parking out front and a nearby parking lot that you pay a few dollars for.

I haven’t been to Teller’s in a few years, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I ended up there last night because another restaurant was closed. The menu is a little over-priced, in my opinion. But I ended up going with the pork belly lettuce wraps– and wow! You get 5, so it’s enough for an entrée, and they were delicious! They come in a soy sauce with some peppers and sprouts, and were so good I can’t wait to try to re-create them at home.

Teller’s of Hyde Park is a great place to go for a weekend brunch. Their brunch is both Saturday and Sunday. When we went they had recently changed their brunch menu. I’m not sure if their other menus changed also. It was clear that all the food was fresh. At Teller’s they aren’t reheating frozen food. Flecks of real banana were in the banana cream for the Banana’s Foster French toast. The Foster sauce was a bold punch of flavor. I wish I had ordered it. My chicken and waffles were good. The chicken was nice and crisp. The waffle was crisp on the outside and soft inside. My husband said his asiago burger was good. He had wanted to try the blueberry crème brûlée pancakes, but they were no longer on the menu. The weakest dish(if it could be called that,) was the Boston Cream pie pancakes. They tasted like standard pancakes(though fluffy,) with some custard and chocolate sauce. My son loved them, and had no complaints. There is no kids menu, so my children ordered off the adults menu. As we were leaving, the kids started talking about«the next time we come here.» Service was great. Our waitress was friendly without being overly so. Parking is metered on the street. Make sure you bring quarters.

I didn’t even know about Teller’s until I moved to the Hyde Park area, and it’s been my dining staple ever since. The interior has a lot more character than a lot of restaurants since the building used to be a bank(hence the name, Teller’s). There’s even a vault inside that you can eat in! I love the rooftop patio too, but beware: they don’t accept reservations for the patio — it’s first come, first serve. On a nice day, it’s a hot commodity, so make sure to plan accordingly. I am obsessed with the buffalo chicken eggrolls and refuse to eat at Teller’s without getting them! Also a huge fan of the Cajun Farfelle, and you can’t go wrong with one of their pizza(the Florentine is my favorite). It can be a little pricey, but totally worth it. Definitely recommend! Remember to check LivingSocial before you go. They almost always have a $ 40 for $ 20 coupon available. UPDATE: My gals and I just went for brunch recently and went ga-ga over the blood orange mimosas. While $ 9 seems like a bit much for a mimosa — have no fear, because it’s actually two full glasses worth(they bring our your own mini bottle of champagne with some extra juice to mix after you’ve finished your first). However, this begs the question: Why not make them bottomless?
