Found this place through Unilocal. Not sure what the hours were I called to find out the brunch hours and was told til 230pm. Once we got there hostess asked what time our reservation was. I told her I just called and wasn’t told I needed a reservation. She seemed frustrated by this. Didn’t really know what the big deal was anyways there were only a couple of tables occupied and it never got any busier while we were there. We started by getting coffee from the coffee bar which was not very hot and bar could have been cleaned up a bit. We ordered breakfast egg rolls which turned out to be the best item ordered. We both complimented the deco cool pictures of Cincinnati. The staff could have used fresh uniforms or invest in aprons everyone I seen had dirty clothes and looked frazzled. Maybe there was a morning rush, but really think they were yesterday’s clothes. For brunch we order eggs with corn beef hash and a breakfast special explained to be southwestern eggs with a steak. Eggs were good but corn beef hash and potatoes tasted like they were put in deep fryer. You could taste the oil as well as see it on the plate. The southwest special was not much to talk about. Presentation was a crêpe like egg covered in some type of tasteless green sauce the steak was completely covered with this sauce and topped offed with a corn tomato salsa and huge chunks of green peppers, along with tortilla straws. Juice was mixing in with the sauce and half way through completely looked inedible. Steak was cooked OK but I ask for it to be medium well and was told the chef cooks them medium… Who’s eating the steak me or the chef??? Found waitress to be rude or at least overly fake friendly. No organization in the place had at least 3 or 4 people come to the table… Who do I leave the tip to? So $ 60.later for breakfast for 2 was a disappointment. We checked out the sandwiches and they did sound interesting to try. Ask to see a dinner menu and was given one with 2 huge grease spots. I get they have a seasonal menu, but jeez at least throw away a cheap paper menu if it gets dirty. No parking and outside and back of building looked like a dump. Don’t think I give this place another chance. Food quality does not match up and definitely not for the price. Thinking the plaques on the wall are probably more for the food truck that sits outback not the restaurant.

Food was good. Service was terrible. The hostess immediately got defensive when we told her when we called for a reservation but no record of it The coffee on the bar was completely out for a long time After seated, we waited at least 15 mins just to get menus After food was delivered, the server never returned. I had an empty water glass the majority of the meal When asked about separate checks, the server got an almost disgusted look on her face and announced they did not do that.(Seriously how hard is it to split checks in 2016?) Again, food was good, but lots of places have good food. I won’t return.

My complaints: 1. With the ouside temperature about 35 degrees the inside of the restaurant was about 60 degrees. When we inquired about raising the heat, we were told that the building is old and that’s the way it is. However, when the heat did kick on(infrequently), it was much more comfortable. 2. We had the chef’s surprise. Cost is $ 25 for salad, entrée, and dessert. The chef decides the choices and you don’t know what you get till its served. Food was ok, nothing special. The server never explained to us that the courses are smaller than what is served when ordering off the menu. The big surprise is when the bill comes. The charges are calculated as if you ordered off the menu and tax is added on this full rate, then a 20% tip is calculated on the full price of the food AND tax, then the difference between full price and discounted price is subtracted. So, if you do want to try this place, I recommend going in the warm weather. If its hot outside, you may want to find out if it has air conditioning!

I’m a fan. We stopped for brunch on a Sunday and had a great time. There was only one other table, most likely because a food festival was going on down the street. The owner was our server and she was very engaging and great. I appreciated that she spent time chatting with us, rather than just hanging out in the back(as servers sometimes do). The Dutch Apple Egg Roll was delicious and a great way to begin the meal. The award-winning French Toast was pretty, different, and delicious. The Cincinnati Flying Pig Breakfast was well-cooked and satisfying.

Very under appreciated Westside Gem! Chef is fantastic though service is okay. It’s also BYOB so bring you own and splurge on the chefs choice options. Their brunch is fantastic as well but make reservations on the weekend.

This review was hard to write. I’m a huge west side lover and wanted my experience to be a verified 5 star for the best side of Cincinnati. With my love for the westside I decided to have my annual birthday celebration, a brunch at Vitor’s. I love introducing my friends to new places that show off where I live. A few weeks before the big day I scheduled a reservation for 11 with no problem. The food was great, I had the California omelet and a side of their fantastic french toast. I enjoyed all of it, especially, the signature donut appetizer and their great self serve coffee bar. They had to have over 10 different types of coffee, once I spotted the the pecan praline flavored coffee I knew I was going to have a good morning. The only downside was the service. The ladies were very nice but the service was slow. I had to pass out the menus and continual try to get the servers attention when things were low or empty. Processing all the credit cards took a little long than expected as well. With bringing in a large group for a special celebration, I was hoping for a more attentive experience.

Being from L.A. I have been to many awesome places and this place tops it here for sure. I have been here for many occasions. Once for brunch with kids and husband, a bridal shower and for a girls night. Its a cool place very unbelievable cozy gem of a place. Makes me love Cheviot.

Recently went here on a Sunday morning for a friend’s birthday brunch. We were one of two tables in the restaurant, but you would have thought our servers were so far in the weeds considering how slowly we were given water, additional drinks, menus, etc. I got a standard breakfast platter, which was good but nothing worthy of the $ 12 price point. We got a few orders of the crème brûlée french toast for the table. SOSOSO good, but I could only eat a few bites. Super rich, but I can see why it is raved about. The best part was the overall décor + coffee bar. I had at least three cups of Highlander Grog which is always deserving of high marks in my book. Overall, I was content with my breakfast, but with so many other excellent places to get breakfast on the west side, I would probably pass in the future.

Lets start off with the assumption that every restaurant is five star until you experience it. At that point they either hold on two a five star rating or lose stars. We went there to eat Sushi as many people are raving about it. Sign at entrance states that«Sushi is available till 12AM», inside a chalkboard at hostess table with colorful crayon states«Sushi bar open!» We were so excited. When asked the waitress if there is a sushi menu, she answers«Oh we don’t serve sushi today.» What !!! Later found out, reading the website that there is no Sushi on the day we visited. Sushi Bar Hours: Wednesday, Thursday, 5:30 p.m. — 10:00 p.m. Sunday 5:30 p.m.-9:00 p.m. So I’m confused, why are the signs at the restaurant? The restaurant has two tables occupied, we were the third. Shortly the other guest left and we were alone in the restaurant. Its kind of strange sitting in a restaurant alone, strangely quiet. It was Saturday evening. Where is everyone if this restaurant is sooo great?
We noticed on menu that there is a $ 10 corking fee per bottle! We love wine with our dinner, so brought two bottles, one actually screw on, one corked. Therefore we already started with a $ 20 bill… omg… We’ve been restaurants that have corking fee, we really haven’t seen $ 10 corking fee per bottle. Well, may be in Manhattan or Seattle. This is Cheviot Ohio. When you pay such a high corking fee, we expected at least to have the waitress pour the first glass, but she just unscrewed the bottle and placed in on the table and walked away. hmmmm… want to be classy, than be classy, please pour at least the first glass of the wine you just opened. Oh, — one more thing. We’re asked what type of wine we brought, red or white, because they would like to provide the appropriate glassware. We said one of us drink the red, and the other will drink white. Waitress quickly came back with two glasses, two identical glasses. :-) One less star. Regarding the food. Very good. I really can’t say anything than it is fantastic. One of us ordered the 5 course«surprise» menu item. This is $ 55, as it states, five courses; soup, salad, appetizer, main course and dessert. For these courses, the chef decides what he will prepare. Everything was exciting and excellent. The other person ordered soup and a main course. Than we got the bill. Automatic 20% gratuity added. Hmmm. Menu states that group of eight or more will receive 20% gratuity added. I usually add 20% percent, so it wasn’t that I had to pay the 20%, but don’t like to be forced. Now I’m wondering, — was there tax and 20% tip on the corking fee? Leaving the restaurant, — the restaurant exits with small steps down into a short ally-way. After sunset, there is absolute darkness at the exit door. There is not one working light outside. Pitch dark. I managed to fall down on the steps. Nothing broke, just shaken. Bottom line. I understand Chef Vitor has a impressive resume. I went there with the intention of eating sushi because it was on most people’s review. While the food we received was superior, the staff was super nice, the small above described nuances kept bugging me. We had an over $ 130 bill for two with us bringing the wine. That is a lot

This is one of the gems of the west side of Cincinnati. BYOB and I always get the course meals. The French toast is out of this world! …But it comes as the dessert course. Chef Vitor comes to the table and really makes you feel welcomed. I had a birthday party here and we go for sushi occasionally. It’s a great place for groups. I’d recommend brunch with the family or out of town guest. There’s seating outside and from the outside doesn’t even look like much but once inside it turns into a fine dining experience. It’s my go to place for a quality meal and a fair price without having to go down town or to the east side. I’d recommend this for anyone looking for a different fine dining experience.

We celebrated our 5 yr anniversary at Vitor’s last night. We went with the 5 course chef’s choice and we’re not disappointed. Excellent food. Quaint atmosphere. Friendly staff. And personable, engaged chef. Definitely recommend.

Only one word can describe this place, AMAZING! From the food to the people it is great to be around this place. Vitor and his wife are two of the nicest and down to earth restaurant owners I’ve ever encounter. He makes you feel at home and will talk to you about the menu and options he has. The food is fantastic! Every bite is a delight. There sushi is very creative and has the right ratio of rice to filling. There meats are always super tender and who can say no to french toast for dessert?! If you want to eat something good and different I would totally recommned this place!

If i could give it 6 stars i would. My family had an amazing dinner at Vitor’s. We arrived thinking we were having sushi & although sadly the chef was sick the host boy convinced us to stay indicating that i could have French Toast for dessert! Who is going to reject that offer! We did & indeed had a delicious dinner. My mom ordered the Avocado Club Sandwich with Parmesan Garlic fries. The Avocado spread was perfectly smooth & not overpowering & the fries where so deliciously crunchy on the outside soft on the inside that my 3yr old almost ate them all. I ordered the Cuban Sandwhich & you will think that is just like any cuban sandwich but it was not & that is extremely exiting to an island girl in Cincinnati like me. It had this little spicy kick that made it very different & the port was slow roasted to melt on your mouth. They also used the RIGHT bread. One that was crunchy on the outside & softer on the inside. I paired it with Truffles Oil & Bacon fries that my 3yr old almost ate by herself too!!! We finished everything with a delicious French Toast alongside with Vitor & his wife Heather themselves! It was a fantastic evening, fantastic food & we will be coming back next week to try their sushi. We cant wait for the Food Truck to show up downtown next month!

Well, we had been wanting to try this place out for a while. The West side doesn’t really have what anyone would call«fine dining», so we wanted to give it a go. We went in on a Sunday for dinner and we were the only two there… It still took a while to seat us, get us water and menus. No one offered us anything to drink, no waiters came by, the sushi chef was really the only one who interacted with us throughout the meal.

My favorite meal of Anniversary Weekend would have to be brunch at Vitor’s. And we had The Precinct the night before, so that’s how good it was. I know. It was only our second anniversary and we really made a big deal out of it. But we originally planned on going out of town, so we decided that we would stay in town and simply make a weekend of it. And that we did! Saturday started off with Vitor’s, which I had heard so many great things about. We made reservations for noon, but after waking up early Saturday morning, we decided to head in and cancel our reservation. The restaurant was not crowded at all around 9:30am, and we decided on having the coffee bar. It was there I got to speak to who I presume was the owner, and who was extremely friendly. Our server was great, too, and when we sat back down, he suggested we try the Fresh Hot Donuts with crème brulee dipping sauce. Yes and yes! We followed our fantastic starter with His and Hers breakfast dishes: Unforgettable French Toast(two pieces of Texas Toast drenched in vanilla cocoa bean batter rolled in Frosted Flakes®. Topped with a Crème Brulee pastry cream, bananas, and whipped cream) and Breakfast Lasagna(Sausage, bacon, eggs, peppers, onions, ricotta mozzarella cheeses layered between fried pasta sheets topped with spicy hollandaise) respectively. We split a side of goetta, too, and it was good, but we could have easily gone without. Thoughts? The French Toast was amazing. Truly Unforgettable, as it lived up to its namesake. The Breakfast Lasagna was outstanding, too, and it even reheated well! I was extremely impressed with our dining experience at Vitor’s and, even though it wasn’t cheap, it was entirely worth it. And upon doing a lot of raving about the food to some friends, two people I know went the next day. They both loved it, too!

After perusing the online menus, I figured that brunch was my best bet as a vegetarian. After placing our order, we were directed to «help ourselves to the coffee bar.» We normally would not have ordered coffee, but we decided to sample a couple of flavors at what we thought was a complimentary bar after this decidedly ambiguous statement. Of course, the bill later revealed that there was a charge of $ 3+ per person. That clouded our experience a little bit, as I would think that the servers should state this more clearly. I at first thought it was a nice little perk to offer a complimentary coffee bar, but oh, well. I had heard good things about the Fresh Hot Donuts, so we started with them. They pair perfectly with the crème brûlée dipping sauce. I had also heard good things about the Unforgettable French Toast, so I had to try that. My husband had the Mediterranean Frittata. The food was good, but I feel like it was over-priced and I probably wouldn’t return. I was just perusing their menu online, and I also see that there is a Split Plate Fee of $ 1.95. This is one of my biggest pet peeves — I find it ridiculous when restaurants charge a fee for you to share your food. This didn’t personally impact me during this visit, but it’s another pricing/business practice I don’t love

Absolutely delicious. Personal visit from the chef who has good stories. I recommend the Dutch Apple egg rolls, the risotto and absolutely the fried Mac and cheese with crab reduction. The service was a little lax but the restaurant was slow.
