I have been here multiple times. I didn’t know about this place until I received a 50% off full order coupon in the mail. Ended up liking Mizuki a lot. The prices of the rolls are the best I’ve come across compared to other nearby sushi places. The staff is nice, good music, comfortable seating options.

Stuffed mushrooms were prefect. Ask for extra sauce it’s delicious. Rolls were good. The deep fried ones are pretty crispy. They have a great selection. Waitress was super friendly but we waited a little longer then we wanted for our check.

The best sushi place in greater sacramento area. Superb rolls for the price!!! Great staff. Clean place. Not too crowded, not too noisy. Been going here since opening. Rolls are comparable to famous local Mikuni restaurants, but are half the price!!! Totally worth it. Hope they keep it up

Quick service and inexpensive lunch special($ 5 for rice bowl with chicken) is why I gave 3 stars. Terriyaki sauce was sweet yet bland. Also ordered a deep fried CA roll… wasabi and ginger were flavorless and roll was less than satisfying. Portion size was good for the price but not impressed with the food. Server was attentive but not enough for me to make a return visit.

Very pleased with this Sushi restaurant. The sushi rolls were very good quality and even though we were the last customers of the day and came in shortly before close our waitress gave us great service. This was my first time here and will not be my last

The only sushi place I’ll go to! I’m very picky when it comes to sushi and seafood restaurants in general. Mizuki has never disappointed me and my picky ways. One of the things I love about Mizuki is that although it’s all about sushi, it doesn’t smell like fish and is always super super clean. The sushi is amazing and has been consistently delicious since the restaurant opened. The staff is friendly and attentive. The only negative thing I can say about Mizuki, is that it can be extremely cold inside, I feel like the AC is always on blast! Though a few warm sakes can take care of that ;) If you’re planning on a leisurely visit of GREAT sushi, I would recommend bringing a sweater.

We were in the mood for some late night Sushi, and this place is both open late and Sushi so it met both qualities for our mood. Decision making at its finest. Their selection of vegetarian rolls was sad. But their service was good. I ordered a boring vegetarian roll. My wife ordered a roll that was very fun looking — lots of sauces, stuff on top, stuff inside, crisped, etc. I wanted something like that. Since the service was nice, I asked them if they could create a roll that was basically a vegetarian version of that roll. It was complicated. We had to take a boring roll and add a lot of ingredients. I can’t remember which one we started with, but I believe it was a traditional veggie roll, then added tempura asparagus, then black rice, then avocado, then a few other ingredients, then baked, then more avocado on top, then special sauce. Basically we created a roll from scratch like a Subway Sandwich. It looked amazing. Visually it was the most impressive veggie roll I’ve ever seen, because most vegetarian sushi rolls are the visual equivalent of a white sock. In taste, it was good, not great, but then again there was no science behind it to make sure the flavors complemented each other. It was basically«what do you have? Okay put literally everything in it or on it.» But I would still order it again over any of the rolls on the menu, because honestly most sushi places need more interesting veggie rolls. Their spicy edamame though was legit. I could eat that all day. Overall it ended up being a much better experience than I anticipated, and I’m glad they went out of their way to accommodate me. I do wish they had more options on their menu, but most places don’t so this was the next best thing.

My favorite sushi place in the area. I have been there at least a dozen times, and every time it exceeds my expectations. Staff are always polite and quick. The rolls are incredibly low-priced; average roll is probably around $ 7. There is a great variety of rolls, all delicious. Great ambience and experience. Good for taking a date!

Amazing sushi. Love the black rice! So glad I found this place. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because I’ve only been twice and only tried a couple rolls, and the edamame so I can’t review everything. First time I ate at the bar and second time I got to-go. I will say I have been very impressed and can’t wait to go back! Friendly service so far!

Upon entering this establishment it smelled a tad odd! Being beyond hungry I shrugged it off and continued my pursuit of sushi and beer. The food overall was decent. The numerous rolls I ordered all received a thumbs up from me. Our waitress was prompt and quick with filling up our waters.

Really good sushi! And affordable prices. Good service. We were here with my husband and this is the best sushi that we have so far in Sacramento.

Came in for an early dinner this evening & was more than pleasantly surprised! I originally bookmarked this place because my husband & I always seem to want sushi late at night… & yay for us, this restaurant is open super late!!! We walked in & were greeted by a smiling hostess, who was also our waitress. She got our drinks out & appetizer out very quickly & made sure to fill our drinks w/out us needing to ask. Our pan fried gyoza was delicious! Even better than Mikuni’s & I love their gyoza! Even my little one had some, which she usually holds off on. I ordered the freestyle roll & a few different pieces of nigiri. The rolls were a good size & the fish/veggies were very fresh! The presentation was pretty & appetizing to look at! My hubby got a couple different rolls… One was spicy w/jalapeño & the other deep fried(which I didn’t try cause I don’t like cream cheese in my sushi) he really liked them both & ate all his food. The munchkin had a bento box & ate most of it(I ate the rest of her California roll cause they were yummy & I can eat… A lot… sometimes lol). I think they have really yummy food & was overall very happy with our dining experience! Anytime I eat more than I should at a restaurant, that usually tells me I like the food :)

My family and I cone here all the time for sushi. Usually everything about this place is great; from the service to the food to the ambiance. However, my most recent visit was far from wonderful. It was disappointing to see so many things go wrong since this is our favorite sushi restaurant. We were immediately seated and had our drink orders taken, but after that we had a different waitress and everything went down hill from there. Once we got our food and drinks no one checked on us, not once. We ordered a bento box(for a non sushi loving diner), spicy edamame, stuffed jalapenos, and the lotus roll. The spicy edamame was about the only good part of the visit. The stuffed jalapenos, which we usually LOVE, was not spicy at all and had very little jalapeño. In fact, a few pieces had no trace of jalapeño at all which is odd since it is the main ingredient. The lotus roll has three chili peppers next to it and there was no spice, or any taste whatsoever. It was BLAND. In addition, the texture was pure mush. I am a big texture person when I am judging food and the rice didn’t feel like rice at all, but rather baby food. We had to ask her to take it back and remove it from our bill. At the end, we had to flag the waitress over(since she was checking on us), ask for our bill and a box for the edamame. Once we got the bill she did not come get it from us and we instead had to to the counter and stand to get her attention. She never even brought us the to go box and so we just left the food there. Because we usually have a great experience I will be coming back to see if maybe this was just an off night. I really hope I never have this experience here again.

Hubs and I decided to mix it up a little and try a new sushi joint rather than going to our usual place. I was a little reluctant since I know what I like and I want what I like. However, I’m glad we tried Mizuki because now we have another sushi place we can go to! + Tsunami roll + Black and White roll + Chinggis These were the rolls we tried. I really wanted to try one of their black rice rolls because it looked really interesting. I think out of the 3 rolls the Black and White was my favorite. It had a flavor I never experienced before in a sushi roll. The other rolls were good too. I like that they make their rolls unique unlike some places where all the rolls taste the same.

This sushi restaurant is quite expensive for their small portions that they give. BF& I ordered Togo and we got the sushi burrito and jalapeño poppers. Now when I think of a sushi burrito, I imagine a sushi that’s in an average sized burrito. Kinda like wrap n roll — but it was not even close to how I imagined it. It was just literally only 4 pieces shaped like an eggroll. They should change the name to sushi spring rolls instead of a burrito. Very deceiving. Definitely not worth $ 11 !! The jalapeño poppers were good. Tasted like any other jalapeño poppers, nothing really special. This is the second time this place has been a disappointment. Nothing really special or different about their items for it to be overpriced. I just really like how they are open late and nearby if I’m craving for some sushi.

It’s Memorial Day and I’m glad they’re open but I got there 20 min before they open at 11:30am. The door was opened and the hostess/waitress was setting up the chairs. I walked in and inquired when they open? She said she thinks now then returned and said 11:30am. As the door was opened I just sat down at the waiting area. I asked to peruse a menu and she handed me one. She left. I sat there til 11:30am and she came back to the hostess station saying nothing. I asked if I could sit down? She said sure. Umm I guess I seat myself. I saw no one there except for one sushi chef and her. I asked her if there are no wait staff? She said it’s only her for a few hours and whenever her manager decides to roll in to help. Wow, that’s one way to bring down a business. If she has any proper customer service training she should have offered me a seat and taken a drink order while I waited for the restaurant to open. Instead, I spent my waiting time calling around multiple restaurants if they were open. Lucky for Mizuki they were all closed by the time 11:30am rolled around and i seated myself. Before coming here I read countless recent reviews about bad service but thought well, since I’m first what chance will I have the same experience? Unfortunately it’s the lack of proper customer service training and mentality that is lacking here. I wonder if the owner has the same lackadaisical attitude. If not they hired the wrong people to run their business. Now for the food, although I was the first and only customer, it took the kitchen 15 min. I ordered: 3 item bento — chicken teriyaki, gyoza, tempura $ 11 lunch. The chicken teriyaki glaze is pretty weak in flavor! It seemed to be Water based. Gyoza had this frozen taste. Now what does frozen taste like you say? Imagine something like all the flavors your Arm N Hammer baking soda absorbed from your freezer. The tempura was the only saving grace from this bento box. The fryer must have been the first thing they turned on since it was hot enough to fry the tempura nicely without it being greasy. The dressing on the iceberg lettuce salad was too much mayo and not enough miso on flavor and grossly thick as if I was eating straight mayo. Kamikaze Roll $ 9(half off from $ 18) — I got my roll about 20 min later. They probably had to wait for the kitchen to supply them the shrimp tempura. It was spicy, ok, nothing memorable however. In the end, the only real service I got was the waitress bringing my food and water order. Everything else I had to ask for, menu, seat, and even the bill. That’s almost as bad as it gets.
