The phở is amazing here! Great customer service and they always refill your cup. You don’t have to hunt them down to get more water. Food is great and always tastes fresh.

The phở here was really good. Service was quick and friendly. The price for an extra large bowl is pretty good as well. Fried rice was good too, which I don’t say too often when it comes to phở places.

I’ve been here two times. Both times were good. I usually always get the rare steak with meatballs. The broth was flavorful and not too salty. Service was prompt as there weren’t very many other tables both nights. The restaurant was clean and the utensils were as well. This is very important to me at Vietnamese restaurants because sometimes the chopstick holders and tables are filthy. Would come back again. Especially if Phở Viet down the street is crowded as usual.

We eat here all the time, food is always fresh, meat is tender, vegetables are fresh and crispy. My boyfriend loves the Phở soup, I love the chicken fried rice and the filet mignon. The waitress is always and the restaurant is very clean. Highly recommend this place!

Good phở in the Sac area! Not the best I’ve ever had but it does the trick when I’m craving phở. Also have had the chow fun and it was good too.

Pretty good. Stopped by on my long way home with my family. They are super picky about food and they all complimented on the taste of their dishes. Definitely a good lunch spot!

Friendly staff, food was fine but nothing incredible. Would return if it was convenient. Had the fried egg rolls and medium bowl of phở.

Food was good enough and wait time was average I guess. The language barrier was like out of a sitcom, the waitress just couldn’t understand us and we sure couldn’t understand her. But for a cheap hole in the wall phở places they’re doing just fine!

I’ve been to this restaurant multiple times for dining in and for take-away. My favorite is their Phở soup. It’s absolutely delicious! The broth is well spiced, the food and vegetables taste fresh. Some other restaurants seem to fill the bowl with a ton of broth but not enough vegetables and noodles… not at this place! It’s as good as it gets. Tonight I tried their Hot & Sour soup for the first time and I was actually very surprised with the quality, especially in comparison to local Chinese places that make it. I’ve ordered it at a few Chinese places recently and the broth had so much corn starch in it(used to do the egg drop portion) that it was the consistency of gravy. Which is disgusting. *DONOTWANT!* Phở 54 doesn’t use too much corn starch in the broth… so it is a nice consistency. The flavor is really great, and there is plenty of heat(perhaps not enough sour for my taste… but for the most part they nailed it.) The staff is very quick to seat, serve, and they are friendly. I never have to wait a long time for my check. Parking is always available and never a problem. The prices are definitely reasonable for the quality and serving size(I always leave with leftovers anyways!) Definitely my favorite local place for Vietnamese which never disappoints. I only wish they offered some Banh Mi! Maybe someday it will be added to the menu, but this is my go-to spot when I’ve had a crappy day.

This place is really good! My favorite Phở spot used to be Phở Xe Lua out in the south area but this place is better! This is a must try spot!

Absolutely thrilled to find this place! Fresh ingredients, clean facilities and they even have Chinese food on the menu! Ordered a Thai iced tea with boba and I loved how fresh and soft their boba was. Must get more! Definitely coming back for more, this place has my business for life! I’ve already taken two locals here for their first meal and they loved it as much as I did. I can’t wait to bring my family here when they visit from out of town.

Briefly, good iced coffee with condensed milk, full flavor. Tasty grilled pork chop, nice tiny beef phở, great dipping sauce, crisp side salad, good white steamed rice, and eggroll included. Flavors on the dot. Will come back and explore other dishes and phở. Banh mi not on the menu. Did not give it five stars because I do that for originality, upscale ambience, excellent service and super fresh ingredients. Phở 54 would get them just for the nice flavors.

Great service, good food. Also offer Chinese food, which is a nice bonus. Bathrooms could use some updating and improvement(scraped my leg on the faucet thing in the bathroom stall). Will definitely be back since it is close by.

The last 3 times we’ve been here, it has slowly been declining in quality. I wonder if there has been a change in management or something. Our favorite waitress is no longer there and since she’s been gone, the service quality had dropped and the quality of the food had dropped as well. Today for example, I found our basil leaves to be infested with black insect eggs. When I asked for replacement basil, and showed her the eggs on the leaves, she just said ok and brought me new leaves. That made me think she was aware the leaves weren’t clean but brought them anyway. The second plate of basil she brought me actually had live bugs on it that was crawling around. I don’t know if we will be going back to this place or not, which makes me sad. :(

The weather has been a little odd for a sacramento summer and it has altered my food cravings. I have been leaning towards soups and flavorful broths, so I scoured Unilocal to feed my appetite. That is how I stumbled upon Phở 54. I tried Phở once before and it wasn’t a very positive experience. I remember the broth being very plain and not understanding why so many of my friends were in the Phở fanclub. Although my previous experience postponed my desire to experience phở again, the weather had some sort an affect on me and decided to give phở another shot. I am so very happy that i stumbled upon this place! The restaurant itself is plain, not much to talk about in décor, but who cares as long as the food is desirable? I ordered the Bun bo hue in a small bowl and asked it to be spicy. My fiancé ordered the rice plate with thinly sliced pork. We also split the shrimp and pork spring rolls. The appetizer came out quickly and although the flavor in the spring roll was fresh, the peanut sauce is a bit flat. Definitely need to revamp that, but all in all a decent dish. When my Phở came out I was excited and so delighted at the flavorful broth. Much better than the first time I had Phở! Although my broth was a little spicy, I would ask for it to be extra spicy next time because I am a little bit of a fire nut and enjoy breaking a little sweat on a chilly day. My fiancé very much enjoyed the flavor of the pork but the portion on the meat was a little bit on the small side. Still a very enjoyable meal for the both of us. After this experience I await a fall evening where I can go order another bowl of extra spicy phở and break a happy little sweat!

This place was just fine as far as phở goes. We’d spent the day tubing on the river and just needed an inordinate amount of salt. This definitely did the trick. However, the beef in the phở thai was overdone, and the broth was meh. The add-ins, though – the sprouts, lime, basil – were plentiful and heaping. And beware of the coffee – it is both strong and bitter. If you like milky coffee, be prepared to have the sweetness of the condensed milk kick you in the teeth. The good: easy to be seated at 5:30 on a Sunday. The bad: not a ton of vegetarian options.

After reading fellow reviews on how amazing the Bun Bo Hue broth was… I knew I had to try it. I generally do not order BBH at Phở restuarants only because I suspect that they all use the same broth for Phở, Hu Tieu, and Bun Bo Hue… but considering that so many people raved about this, that’s what I ordered. When it came out, the broth looked decent; it wasn’t as red as I was expecting it to be and it lacked the beefy flavor. It tasted more like a chicken broth, light tasting. Overall it was decent. Not something that I would order again. I would stick to regular phở. My brother also ordered the rice plates, and it didn’t look like there was much meat on there, even though he ordered the pork rice plate with shrimp cake.
