Was on a trip out west in Portland with my girlfriend. We were having a fun time and decided to buy her something special to commemorate the trip. Portland was awesome BTW. We stopped in LaRog and had a blast talking to the owners. They were awesome. Very helpful. My girl was very happy with her major score on some fine Jewelry. Price was fair for the gold and diamonds we bought. The staff made the experience memorable. If i lived in Portland and was diving into marriage I would definitely be going here for an engagement ring after that visit.

Another terrific experience here. A repair they did a year ago had some more problems(not same thing from a year ago, different) they repaired my wife’s ring at no charge. I told them it wasn’t their fault due to the age of the ring, they wouldn’t take my credit card. This is the type of service that brings me back to a local store that cares about the customer.

I don’t usually take the time to write reviews, let alone sign up for a service just to do so. I was in to LaRog’s Eastside location on June 11 at 10:05. I went there to sell a platinum ring, after reading they buy diamonds too. We’ll I entered the store which had no customers and 4 employees. I was in the store for 5 minutes with not even a greeting. Another employee came in and walked past me. We’ll out I went. Sitting in my truck to Google the next place to go. The last employee that came in came out to my truck and apologized for not being helped, and asked if he could do anything. I accepted his apologies and went back in. He was given the ring and offered me scrap value for the platinum, as the diamonds were to smaller then they purchase.W.T.F. Now I know that my little ring pales in comparison to what is in their cases, but really. I know what I paid for it, and I realize it’s not what they pay, but you scrap the platinum and keep the diamonds 228.00 for my ring. I wish I could attach a picture, this ring is art deco and beautiful. So I am VERYDISSATISFIED especially after reading their website, driving to the location, and being seriously disappointed on how they actually treat you. If your wearing carharts and a t shirt… not the place for you.

Absolutely love these guys! My wife and I have been coming here for years for all of our jewelry needs. Their prices are fair, the staff is both knowledgable and friendly, and the atmosphere is second to none. We would both highly recommend LaRog Jewelers to anyone looking for diamonds, engagement rings, and more. We’ve been to all the jewelers in Portland and there’s a reason LaRog has been around the longest!

I took in some estate gold jewelery I wanted to sell. The saleswoman looked at it, weighed it quickly and gave me a price they would pay in under 2 minutes, I have never sold any gold or jewelery before and this made me really uncomfortable. I declined the offer and took it to another store in downtown Portland that specializes in vintage and estate jewelery. That experience was comfortable. They took the time to look at the items carefully and made an offer that was almost 40 percent more then what LaRog’s offered me! I’m going to be in the market to buy wedding rings in the next year or two and I would never ever go here to shop after the way I was treated on this occasion. How could I ever trust them? They were out to rip me off pure and simple. Please don’t trust their assessment of any gold jewelery you want to sell.

I have been in LaRogs many times and trust them completely. My mother had a ring that was so thin from 50+ years of wear, that she needed to have it repaired. She didnt trust anyone with her precious ring until I told her who owned it. They took her ring, reshanked it and got it back to her in perfect condition. It made an old woman very happy. She had tears in her eyes when I gave the ring back to her. I would use Larogs in a heartbeat for anything jewelry related, They are honest and fair.

HORRIBLE This place is a rip off. I went to sell gold. She quoted me 250 $ so I mentioned their online coupon that says they will add 50 $ to the total for your gold. The lady told me she already included the 50 $ in the 250 $ quote. Well, if she already included it then it really isn’t a 50 $ bonus. They are misleading and dishonest. DON“T TAKEYOURGOLDTHERE.

We came here looking for an engagement ring. Upon entering we were greeted by an older woman, probably in her 40’s, I don’t remember her name, but I wish I did. After telling her we were in the market for an engagement ring of $ 400 to $ 600 value, we were immediately shown $ 1000 to $ 2000 rings. I guess with all of their GIA certified diamonds they don’t have rings in the $ 400 to $ 600 range? Get this, as my wife was trying on a $ 6000 ring, the old hag actually implied that if I don’t buy this ring, my wife, then fiancé’, might leave me. My wife and I were shocked. She knowingly forced my wife into trying on this expensive ring, knowing we had a budget, and attempted an old sellers scare tactic on us. Here’s a 40 something year old hag, with a boyfriend in the«military» working at a jewelry store; no wonder shes not married. Seriously though, if you want to sell a ring don’t try to sell two college students a $ 6000 ring with a $ 600 budget. We sold gold here one time and were undersold by almost $ 120, we made a mistake that time, but didn’t with the ring. Go elsewhere.

didn’t realize we’d been ripped off until I saw the reviews on here. Thought what we got for my husband’s mother’s gold was pretty good, but now that I think about it, if we had gone to a pawn shop, the shear NUMBER of pieces they got was worth much more than $ 500. We also bought a new setting here for a diamond I already had, and not only did they«forget» to size it for me when they made it, they tried to charge us $ 200 more than I was quoted over the phone. I told them what I was quoted and fortunately for me, they agreed to honor that price.

Please, oh please, DONOT sell your gold to Larog. They offered me $ 695(WITH a $ 50 coupon) for some gold that a pawn shop offered me $ 1000 on the very next day. I knew it sounded low when they quoted it, and so i walked out. I felt terrible for the man in front of me who sold back a ring that had to have been worth $ 1000(in diamonds, alone!) if he sold it on eBay or to a consignment shop, but instead they gave him $ 265. Do your research before selling gold, and get at least three quotes – but avoid this place all together. They are a total rip.

my fiancé and I went here after hearing all the great things on the radio about them. I thought it would be a great place to get(something very meaningful to us both) my engagement ring. Turns out I could not have been more wrong. I really wish I would have remembered to look that the ladies name tag, we walk in and I asked about hand engraved filigree rings, I let her know that I have already found a stone to use and would not want any diamonds. from that point on it’s like she did not want our business. she brought out a «prototype» ring and during a short conversation she mentioned three times that the entire ring was fake, I understood her the first time not sure why she repeated her self. She pulled out a catalogue book and flipped it open to the hand engraved rings, the engravings were not visible at all and I asked if she knew what they actually look like she replied«well if you are going to be that picky, we can order one in. But if it is ordered you would need to purchase it» Im sorry what, this is going to be my ring forever… and asking what the engraving is like is not at all picky. My fiancé and I left that store and went to the town center where we spoke to Joe Kasaab of Joe Kasaab Jewelers and he CUSTOM designed a ring for me at half of what the catalog rings were going for. and I could not be more happy with it. so don’t waste your time with poor customer service where there are other family run businesses who want your money

Ms. K. and I were ring shopping last weekend(for me – we already have hers) and were pointed in this direction by some friends who had also patronized this business. Earlier in the day we had stopped at Carl Greve downtown by Pioneer Square(ask for David, btw) to peruse their selection. They had some cool stuff, but the one we found that we liked(a 6 mm, hammered platinum band) was more than we wanted to spend. So we continued our search, which brought us to LaRog Brothers down by Clackamas Town Center. Kerri was the salesperson and immediately pointed us to some great-looking rings. Long story short, we found a ring that I love(7mm(or 8 mm?), hammered tungsten band) for 10%(literally *1/10th*) of what Carl Greve was asking. Now I understand, platinum is much more expensive, blah, blah, blah, but for my purposes and my tastes, I got a ring that I actually liked better than the one that cost 10X more downtown. Good stuff.
