Trader Joe’s

Had the most WONDERFUL experience I have ever had at Trader Joes. My boyfriend and I were helped out by this amazing woman who works there named Jackie. She was so sweet and kind and attentive to us the whole time she checked us out with our mountain of groceries. We told her we had moved in to a new home and she complimented us with some welcome flowers. Just a beautiful, kind woman! I would absolutely be back to this location and to any Trader Joes thanks to her kindness. She made our day! Thank you, Jackie!

Staff is very friendly and helpful. We were able to find everything we needed despite the heavy Saturday shopping crowd. Parking is always a challenge but lots of spaces further away. Thank you for the Cinnamon brooms and pumpkin bread mix! You never dissapoint.

I like this Trader Joe’s because of it’s location and the parking is much better than the Hollywood district location. But that’s where it ends. They aren’t quite as established, friendly, or solid as the other stores in Portland. They have crabby cashiers that won’t help you one bit. Today, one cashier put his «closed» sign on after I’d already been waiting awhile and he didn’t acknowledge me and the other cashier did not help lift my bags into the cart at all before rushing me to leave and moving on to the next customer. I’ve been here several times, each time the same experience. Whereas at the Hollywood location, the staff are way friendlier and ask every time if I need help with my bags out to my car.
I think it’s a management issue here, otherwise the staff would maybe be a little friendlier and not so protective of their time and energy.

I love trader joes, but the 3 stars is related to the company allowing the kids grocery mini carts in their stores. I just finished shopping here, after getting ran over by someone’s kid pushing their own mini cart. It is a dangerous situation to allow kids running around the store pushing their own cart.

I love Trader Joes’!! I go to this Trader Joe’s at lease once a week. The only thing that is not great is how busy it gets in the parking lot — but that is just how every place in the LA area is. I go early in the day on Tuesday and Wednesday’s and that seems to be the least busy time to go.

The Best Area Trader Joe’s! Fairly newer store, very very clean, well stocked, rarely out of what I like to buy there exclusively. Every day they preview a new food product, cooked fresh in store and provide samples. Once I was there and he had the most delicious food item. I asked for the recipe. he said the normal «demo item» didn’t come in so he made up one of his own with products from the store. amazing! Thanks for always sharing your recipes!

They have so many interesting food items. Some of their prices are incredible. My only complaint is that some of the meat items come from places like Mexico.

I’ve been going to this one for about five years. In general I’ve appreciated Trader Joe’s service because no matter which one I go to, they’re always smiling and nice, knowledgeable and helpful. They must have bad days, but you would never it know it from their attitude. This Trader Joe’s really stands out to me because one time my truck ran out of gas because the gauge was broken, and one of the workers there didn’t hesitate, ran two blocks down to the gas station, and got me two gallons of gas and paid for it, just out of kindness. That’s the kind of care they have for customers.
Food-​wise, they keep their meat good and fresh, they bake their own bread, and they have free-​range chicken. I’m not as into the organic and natural foods that they’re known for, but I never ate frozen meals until I tried theirs. It’s top of the line. And I’ll pay for good food, but their prices are not that high. It’s very reasonably priced.

I often frequent this location because of its convenience. There is always parking and always has what I look for. Love it! :) Great prices on flowers too!

I love this Trader Joes store. The staff are so friendly — and it’s much quieter than the Hollywood location. Go on a weekday and you will be treated like royalty.

This review is more of a 4.5, not quite a 5.
This is one of my favorite Trader Joe’s. It’s never too busy and everyone is so super duper nice. When I have rotations nearby, I often stop by to grab a salad for lunch. And darn it, I always forget to grab a friggin fork! Not an issue though because 10 out of 10 times I’ve forgotten, the kind cashier always asks if I needed one for my salad. It’s an extra step that isn’t necessary, but very appreciated!
They are also my go to place when I want to grab healthy-​ish goodies as goodbye gifts for the clinics. They always like the snacks I get and often tell me they will have to go get some for themselves after work! Sharing is caring…
Only gripe I have is about their produce. I’ve boughten some not so fresh packaged produce unknowingly. It’s always a bummer when you open your goods and get spoiled mush or they go bad too quickly. I avoid it and just stick to non-​produce items (except for the salads for lunch, of course).

I love Trader Joe’s ya’ll.

–Inexpensive and quality fruits and veggies
–Delicious beef for beef stew
–The best frozen snack foods in the whole world
–Little cute baby carts for little kids that I secretly want to use
–Artichoke ravioli and lobster ravioli
–Amazing prices and great quality
I still love Trader Joe’s, ya’ll.

as good as it gets for a TJs.
Love the environment in here and the staff. Good people and good food.
but, it is hard to find a bad Trader Joes, you can find them with a terrible staff with nothing going on but, this one has the fun people and that comes from management letting crew having fun and work.

This Trader Joe’s is on 82^nd Avenue in Clackamas, Oregon.
It has a nice feel to it. You can walk to the nearby Fred Meyer or go to do discount shopping at Goodwill or the Salvation Army. The parking lot is big and they have lots of carts.
I walked in and I was amazed. The have frozen poutine and cherry cider. As usual there is a wide array of products, sometimes for better, sometimes for worse. Trader Joe’s will sell some good products and other suspicious private labels. The price is typically wonderful.
They do sometimes have longer lines than at Fred Meyer, but the prices and selection are often far better.
You never know what you’ll find here and this variety is welcome.
This Trader Joe’s is good for doing weekly grocery shopping.

Every single time I come here, I have a fantastic experience. Even if the customers suck, the staff tries really hard to make up for it. I haven’t met their manager, but can tell they are doing something right since their staff all seems to be really happy and have great work ethic. I always have an easy time finding help or someone to answer my questions.
One time I was leaving and I stupidly had put my wine on the bottom rack of the cart, when a couple bottles fell out and broke, they came running outside to fix the situation before I could even blink! Someone was grabbing my wine to replace it (for free), while someone else swept up my mess. I was on my in less than two minutes after the incident!
My toddler loves this place and everyone there is so friendly and kind to him. That wins over this Mommas heart. They have lots of great Organic options for my little guy and whole family. I love a lot of the prepackaged foods to help give me ideas for meal plans. I am a terrible cook, but TJ’s makes cooking way way easier.
I hate big stores and get overwhelmed easily, but even if this place is raging busy, I doesn’t phase me. I appreciate their big parking lot because it isn’t nearly as scary or dangerous as their other locations. I’m not a fan of 82^nd, but love sneaking over here via Johnson Creek Blvd. It is so conveniently located next to other obnoxious big box stores that are helpful to have close by.
I will say, I’m not always a fan of all TJ’s produce, as I like to go right down the street to Morrow Bothers, but their selection and quality seem much better at this store for some reason.
I love this place and don’t loathe it nearly as much as I do most other stores. Keep up the great work staff. Positive energy is contagious.

I have not written a TJ review because I know words just can’t do it justice. It’s like writing a review for Heaven, or the sky. I keep meaning to start a blog to keep track of all the things I love here-​to add to the hundreds of folks online who have tempted me to try items I may have otherwise skipped. There are even TJ wine review blogs!!! I’d say it’s 97% love, 2% just ok, and 1% dislike. But TJ is great about taking things back you don’t like.
If I listed everything I loved here, Unilocal would cut me off for babbling, so I’ll take that to mean that you guys do not want to hear my list of 2,000 delicious things, and I’ll just get into the greatness.
Trader Joe’s has natural foods, most of them are MUCH cheaper, and better than the grocery store. Many of them are ‘fast’ foods, frozen, etc. but even those are still more natural than you can find anywhere else. I can pretty much trust that there aren’t crazy additives in anything I get there. Even my dog loves their natural food and treats, that are CHEAP!
Their taste testers really do a good job of making most things taste pretty authentic, and often improve upon many recipes.
I didn’t like wine until I tried the many flavors of Trader Joe’s grapey goodness. I’ve had $ 30+ bottles I didn’t like as much as their $ 5 bottles, even if I’m not a fan of 2 buck chuck.
No matter what Trader Joe’s you go to, the customer service is great. They seem to treat their employees well, and they always happily go out of their way to help me. They almost always suggest fantastic wines for my taste, often open up random foods for me to sample when I ask about them, and don’t make me feel like a jerk when I forget my reusable bags. My problem is, I’ll go in for cottage cheese, or one thing-​and of course end up getting a bag or two worth of things. I should know this going in, but my small trip always ends up being a smörgåsbord of deliciousness, courtesy of Trader Joe’s.

This is a pretty great grocery franchise overall with quality products and pretty fair pricing. The goods are made with your health and the environment in mind for the most part and pretty tasty as well.
Thus store is staffed by a pretty good group of people as well. My only gripe us that sometimes the store gets pretty busy and it is pretty small so there is nowhere to go and avoid the crowds like Fred’s or Safeway — but really when you shop here you don’t bulk shop usually so the trips are pretty quick.

I love going here when I have a little extra money to spend. The amount of Organic and Fresh products you can get here are the best. The milk is so much cleaner and fresher then what I can get in the grocery store. The bread selections are tremendous as well. I get brioche and challah bread here for bread pudding and french toast. The one thing I have never tried but would like to are the farm fresh brown eggs. I will go back to pick some of those up sometime.

Seriously, what can someone say bad about Trader Joe’s? They have interesting things, they are usually priced fairly, the people who work there are helpful, and it’s usually healthier fare. They even give you paper bags with handles!
My only complaint is that the selection is limited. One could not do all their grocery shopping there. It’s an «auxiliary» trip.
It’s good that Trader Joe’s came to this corner of the metro area. It appears to have been well-​received. Wow, can you ever tell you’re in Portland. The employees at this Trader Joe’s and the ones in SE PDX look quite a big «different» than do the ones in other places, such as in the Southwest. Talk about local flavor.
I had a funny experience here. I always like to sample what they’re cooking. Usually, it’s a meatless pasta dish or some creative casserole concoction. I got up there, ready to dig in, and after reading the label, I asked the guy «Is this Indian?» He said «Yes.» I put the plastic fork down. I then paused and asked «Did that come across as racist?» He laughed, and said «Yes,» but that he’s heard that comment about food a time or two. I told him I do not like any overly spicy flavors and he nodded. Then I added that if it was Middle Eastern food, such as braised chicken, falafel, or hummus, I would be coming back for seconds. Now that’s not racist.
Ah yes, Ecotopia, where political correctness extends to the local Trader Joe’s. But, truthfully, he was a «good sport» about it and had a sense of humor.
For things like breads, pitas, cheeses, sliced meats, hummus, yogurt, crackers, juices, and things like that, Trader Joe’s is a worthwhile additional pit stop from the mega-​store /​supermarket.
