My friend picked this place out because we both wanted to try somewhere new. We parked in the free parking structure and just walked around the corner. It was pretty busy on a Sunday evening. That’s always a good sign. The interior and the décor was cool and clean. We were seated right away and the friendly waitress took our order. We had the crispy Truffle fries as an appetizer. For our entrée, we ordered variety of tacos. I had the soft shell crab taco. Now that was bomb diggity!!! If you like Asian fusion type of food, come to The Junction! Thanks Rich V for treating me out for my belated birthday!!!

Had lunch with my daughter there today. Food was very good, we had dumplings, tacos, sweet potato fries and I had kimchi fried rice. Wait staff is a little slow when dining outside in back.

There’s not much good asian food in Claremont in my opinion, so I’m just so glad that The Junction exists. Although it is asian fusion, it still hits the spot when I’m craving something remotely asian. — kimchi quesadilla with bulgogi meat: My favorite thing to order, I actually order it every time I go. The tortilla is perfectly crunchy and the dish is very flavorful. You can taste the kimchi very much so if you’re not a fan of kimchi I would suggest to not order this dish. — soft shell crab taco: definitely something you have to get if you like soft shelled crab. I’ve never thought to eat soft shell crab in taco form, but it was honestly surprisingly good and hearty. Plus the soft shell crab had a tempura batter crisp to it. — Bibimbap bowl: I wouldn’t get this again. It was very plain to me and the ingredients weren’t mixed so it was dry and bland to me. I definitely need to go back and try more stuff. But so far, so good!

Had a really bad experience with this restaurant tonight. So bad in fact, I made a Unilocal account for the very purpose of leaving this review. The food tasted good, but we absolutely will not be returning due to abysmal service and will be recommending friends and family stay away from this restaurant. We ordered food for delivery just before 8 pm, it was supposed to arrive at 8:51. We received no call to inform us that the delivery would be late. Around 9:20, the delivery guy called and said which street he was on – he was about two streets over – and asked if I could meet him OUTSIDE of our condo complex because he had another order to deliver. Aside from that request being completely out of line, and the order being 40 minutes late, two of our three boxes were VERY crushed(which caused the food in one of the boxes to get cold). We ordered beef bulgogi bibimbap bowl, a korean BBQ taco, and Korean BBQ burger with bacon. The burger was overcooked & dry, but the flavors were good. Bibimbap bowl had good taste(except the egg was really poor quality and taste) but this was the dish that was very cold because the box had been crushed & the lid was dislodged. Taco was good. We really like supporting local claremont businesses and restaurants, but we just can’t support this restaurant after such a bad experience. We were really bummed out because we had heard from a few people that this place was good, and we had really been looking forward to trying it. It was a huge let down. If you’re looking for a quick, reliable, grab and go bite to eat, order from Petiscos, Tika, Espiaus, or Saca’s instead.

I found this place on Unilocal and have been eating here for about a year now mostly for lunch. Service during lunch hours are the worst… However the food is well cooked and presented and that does compensate for he horrible service. Found myself her last night for dinner and the service on a Saturday night was surprisingly amazing. Waitress checked in about 4 – 5 times to make sure everything was going well with our dinner. I ordered the usually three tacos off the truck menu(grilled shrimp, bulgogi and kalbi) All three cooked to perfection with there house hot sauces. My friend ordered hot green tea and the asian burrito with an egg. The dish was nicely presented and very colorful. However it was drowning in sauce that was over salted. The burrito is big enough for two people to share but not worth taking it home to eat for later. Sorry to say it was a disappointing dish, sometimes less is better. Overall this experience was pleasant and my tacos were perfect as usual.

Claremont is new to me, but the place was painless to find and easy to park nearby. I walked in on a slow hour of the day and it was very enjoyable. Menu was easy to understand and they had many options I want to come back and try! The only negative was the lighting. I came during a sunny day and the place was very dark despite that. I will come back for dinner with friends, but I don’t think I’ll come back for lunch.

I like this place because I love Korean food. I’m excited to come back and visit for their happy hour. Also excited to try some of the other menu items which look good. Will update then!

A play on the«junction» between Mexican, American and Korean fare, and also a testament to its location adjacent to the Claremont junction train station. I get it! Everything is a little«too much» something — lamb shank was too brothy. Lettuce wraps were too saucey. Grilled chicken salad was too sweet. But the service is always solid, the food is healthy, and I always leave satisfied. My «too much» grumblings aren’t enough to dissuade additional visits.

Irish-Korean Nachos… need I say more? But I will, their tacos and lettuce wraps are amazing! Every dish was professionally prepared and plated, the flavor were separate and melded perfectly and very enjoyable. Service was good, they were helpful and scarce, around when you needed them. I am a new fan!

This is an Asian + Mexican fusion type of restaurant which opens late and has a bar. I would highly recommend their Korean BBQ tacos(Bulgolgi or Kalbi). The softshell crab taco is also very good and their crab is fresh. The kimchee quesadilla is very carb heavy. You taste more meat flavor than kimchee flavor. This isn’t a spicy dish. The salad of choice is their Mandarin salad. Happy Hour is about $ 1 — $ 2 off certain dishes. If you’re indecisive, go with the wings.

Awesome flavors! Really an interesting take on Asian and Mexican food and a few things in-between. Honestly the food is all amazing! My favorite dish is the Kimchi fries with either spicy pork or with Bulgogi. Everytime I have gotten it I’m astounded with how just amazing it tastes. This is a must try and great to share! I have been a few times now and am always surprised with how good everything tastes. Another thing that tastes wonderful is the Cuban. This sandwich has a very unique set of flavors that play off each other quite well. Reading through the menu there are so many choices that you will want to try and you should not hesitate to give anything a shot.

What a miserable happy hour. I wanted to check The Junction’s happy hour because they advertised craft beers on tap for $ 4 and wines for $ 6. Their plethora of beverages included Shock Top or Red Trolley Ale for beers, and a red wine blend which tasted like diluted metal, and a white wine, which I did not try. We didn’t order food. Service seemed friendly but a little disoriented when my friends and I entered. At 4pm on a Thursday, the restaurant was almost empty, but the bartenders and waitresses seemed unsure whether it was actually happy hour and what was available. The drinks took about ten minutes to reach our table. On top of that — normally I don’t care about water provided by the establishment — all of our table thought that the iced water tasted strongly of metal. Disappointing happy hour. Maybe I’d come back for the food since The Junction is located conveniently near where I work.

Food was decent. We ordered: — Lamb chops(sharables), cooked to our liking and delicious mint sauce — Kimchi Fried Rice — my favorite — Dates/Figs — served warm, very good — Scallop carpaccio — small portion(not worth buying), but tasted good — Blueberry Sake — very delicious($ 15) — the Junction bowl — very good. **WINGS(honey sririacha) were AWESOME! Highly recommend. This place didn’t blow me away. I would come back for the wings!

I came here to meet up with some friends. The place was empty but with workers having lunch. I thought the sloppy burritos looked good. It’s was asada wrapped in rice and flour tortilla with cheese and jalapeño and a over medium egg on top. I guess I was expecting an explosion of flavor but it wasn’t so grand as I had hoped. The kimchi fried rice was not all that special either but service was good and the place was clean. I dig the bar area and the fish pond. It’s a good place to hang out and get some drinks after a long day at work. They have TV’s for you to watch sports and chill.

Communal eating at its best. This place has a very trendy and hip atmosphere. But somehow it doesn’t swing so far to being pretentious. Maybe it’s because there weren’t a lot of people when we were there at 11:30 a.m. on a Friday so the place wasn’t populated with trendy/hip people, but I enjoyed my surroundings. One fun fact, if you look at the bar, it has a video of koi in a pond projected on it. Pretty neat. One of the t.v.s was showing the cooking channel. Finally a restaurant that understands what I want to see when I eat, not just sports! We started with the Kimchi Super Fries. Amazing. Just order it. It is a huge portion and it comes in a fried taco shell. Really the taco shell might be a bit of overkill, but we all definitely ate some of it. There were three of us and we devoured it. I’m not sure if it was just two of us we would have been able to finish it! The fries are drenched in sauce, meat and kimchi. Definitely a must get. I then got the Avocado Mango salad. Even though it was under shareables, I didn’t really take heed of that. Well, I should have. When it came out, it had tongs and enough food to split with another person. Whoops. You definitely get a lot for your money here. Usually at trendy places, it is the other way around! It was good. I enjoyed the dressing, which is lavender infused balsamic vinegar. My husband got a bulgogi taco and loved it. He said it was very good. I like this place and would definitely recommend it to anyone in the area.

If I had to describe the food at the Junction in one word then it would be, excellent! From the great service to the amazing food. We started with some drink as we walked in at prime time for happy hour 5 pm to close on a Friday night. A glass of red for me and a glass of white for him. For appetizers we tried the kimchi quesadilla, it was phenomenal, it is truly all it’s cracked up to be! Full of flavor and zest! We then tried the wings which were also amazing, the sauce was sweet and spicy, perfectly coating the chicken. Hubby tried the lamb for main and I tried the kimchi fried rice. The kimchi fried rice was also another winner. I cannot wait to go back and try the kimchi fries and so many other things on the menu. This place is a must try and if you haven’t already tried it, then take my word for it and DOIT!

this place is amazing!! From the contemporary ambiance, to the perfect and unique mex/asian fusion, to the staff all being musicians and taking turns to get up on stage and rock, this place has it all! Ambiance offers a not-so-busy, cools décor with big screen TVs everywhere. The bar holds no more than 10 – 12 ppl, but this is the seat to take! no only are you close to your server for immediate service, but also the interactive projection fish tank on top of the counter will keep you entertained for days! I responds to your hand motion to ripple the water and scare the fish. clever… Happy hour menu is till close on weekends; cant beat that! So the food; didn’t disappoint! new ideas, fresh ingredients, spiced to perfection, great portion sizes, cheap for what it is, and creative! we stuffed ourselves to try as much as we could; kimchi quesadilla roll is a must! crispy tortilla shell, spicy meat, and perfected dressing — GOTTATRY! Rosemary rack of lamb: juicy, tender, amazing. Tacos; filling and stuffed. Paired them with a good wine, was a happy customer! Big ups to Cal, our waiter at the bar that made the experience a great one! First time here, def wont be the last!

Pretty empty during happy hour around 5:30pm Tuesday. Turn up on a Tuesday when I have 5 finals tomorrow. Amazing food! I just think it’s overpriced, especially for the portions. My kim chi quesadilla was yummy, cheesey, meaty(I got kalbi), and slightly spicy(I usually can’t eat very spicy). It was very delicious but definitely was not close to filling me up. I tried the jumbo hot wings off the happy hour menu for $ 4. Not very jumbo but so delicious! Ate it too fast to take a pic! Sorry not sorry. The sauce was amazing and it was perfect ratio of crunch to saucey. My friend had the mini bibimbap bowl and that surprisingly wasn’t too small. She’s gotten it before and loves it enough to bring me here. She got the vegetarian meat which I tried and it was pretty darn delicious for something vegetarian. She likes the spicy/sweet sauce that comes with it but I wasn’t a fan, the fake meat was seasoned well enough on it’s own. Sadly I couldn’t try their yummy sounding green tea cheesecake bc they were out. Definitely try this place if you’re in the area and loove kbbq

Fun place for a date or night out with friends! They have a great menu, so many things to try, it’s best to come with a few people to get to sample as much as possible! I like that they have the menu set up with a wide variety of small plates as well as entrees, so you can get a few small items instead of being stuck with one dish. I went with the bibimbap and really enjoyed it, nice portion and tons of flavor. My husband had the philly sandwich, also great quality, nice portion and very cheesy, loved it. We shared the short rib quesadilla as well as a few tacos, all very tasty. Service was very nice and our food came out quickly and was prepared and presented nicely. Prices are a bit high, but given the variety and quality, I think they are fair and The Junction worth checking out!
