I am unsure if I should give a 3 or 4 with this review. Had my rehearsal dinner here about a year and a half ago and I loved it. it was my first time eating at this restaurant. Penne vodka and chicken Parm at the time and nothing but great things to say about it delicious! Went back here today for dinner and was very disappointed that the chicken Parmesan rubbery and there was barely any cheese on it and the tortellini soup was broth filled half way up in a small to go container with two tortellini. Prices are average for a sit down Italian restaurant. So was very upset to spend over 20 $ on a dinner for one that was less than mediocre. I don’t know if it was different staff that day or new owners. Will give it one more try on another day to fully make up my mind about this facility Staff was friendly décor could use some updating

Yum! I am only familiar with the quality of the catering and it is great! My job orders lunch here often and everyone loves it. Good for catered or group weekday lunches

We ordered the house salad with the famous house dressing. It was light and garlicky. The thin crust pizza was fresh and delicious. My son got the plain cheese, my husband had the margarita and I had the Rostada with roasted veggies. All of us enjoyed our pizza — even my picky eater son! We highly recommend this authentic NJ pizzeria!

I always passed by, but never ate here till last night. The reason, my Wife worked next door at Aliperti’s and I felt uncomfortable coming here to eat. Well anyway, Aliperti’s is closed, and I finally tried Tarantellas. Well, let me tell you, very impressed. Large spacious eating area and good parking lot. Out server was pleasant and great. We had a large pizza w/onion and I had the best mussels marinara. The pizza was thin and crispy with red onion, only on half. The mussels were large, no sand with a great spicy sauce to dunk great Italian Bread in. Soft drinks are a little pricey, with no free refills. I will be back to try other dishes.

Had a gift certificate from a Hanukkah party so decided to try it out. No wait on a Sunday night around 7 so that was nice. Atmosphere reminded me of a NJ diner that was serving Italian food lol. Our waitress was very nice and on point thru the entire meal. Started with the calamari w/spicy sauce(which was marinara with crushed red pepper flakes) and mozzarella sticks. Calamari was basic but the sticks made up for them! For main course we had Rigatoni Bolognase which was delicious and Raviolis with meat which was also really good. Both were large portions which left us with a nice amount of leftovers. Decided to skip desert and go 2 Dunkin Donuts. Overall was a good experience, great staff and pretty good Italian food for a fair price… would definitely go back

Very good pizza. I’ve been coming here weekly for a few years now, and over that time Tarantella’s has consistently served up great pizza and great service. These are thin-crust pies, with good crust and flavorful sauce, especially on the Margherita. Some of the house special combinations are really good, with the Genoa, Very Italian and Rostada all being favorites. And a special shout out to Kim, our regular server, who has always provided us with attentive and friendly service! Without exaggerating, I’ve probably been here at least 100 times, and hope to come at least 100 more. ..

Best chicken parm I have had in a long long time. Cheesy and cheese slightly broiled-mmmm Sauce is thick and tasty Portion is generous Pasta cooked to perfection I couldn’t wait to eat the leftovers the next day. Would recommend. 10⁄10. My bf had the chicken florentine. Also tasty and great amount of chicken, spinach, and mushrooms.

I love going here when I’m in the area. Always good Italian food. Their house dressing is excellent(get extra to dip your bread into – wow). I’ve never had Arabella pasta is to die for. I’ve never had better than here. Everything from Chicken Parmesan to Lasagne is homemade and fantastic. You won’t be disappointed. This place the servers have been with the family forever and really know their stuff. Very accommodating and great for a group. A definite must if your ever in the area of Clark and not far off the Parkway if you hit it right and can grab a lunch or dinner here. You will love it. Don’t forget dessert — worth it!

Just an update to this place. since my last review in 2013. I still love it! Food is soo yummy… Consistent at all times. Calamari so good, I can eat this the whole thing! Bolognese with rigatoni pasta is sooo good and meaty. Ultimate chicken sandwich always on point with the macaroni salad. Don’t stop what you guys are doing! We will be back, always!

Excellent food! Large portions and not overpriced at all. Very reasonable. Great value. Service was very good. We Did not wait long for anything and the young lady was very attentive without being over attentive. My only negative is the ambiance. It is horribly outdated. It looks like a diner from 1970. The crowd is very elderly as well. Food knocked it out of the park and I will return.

Tarantellas is a great place I always come to with family for gatherings. Food is always good. They may get packed because its a local favorite in town, But the waits are never to long and they always manage to accommodate parties of all sizes. I particularly like their pizza. Its doughy just enough sauce with a perfect balance of cheese never oily and over salty. For main entrees I have always enjoyed the«pork chop with potatoes peppers and onions» «Chicken Parm» «Grilled Chicken with Broccoli Rabe» they also have nice beer and wine selection. for dessert I always go with the«NY Style Cheesecake» its rich and creamy. They also make a nice cup of espresso. I always make it a double. Staff is always very attentive and pleasant.

Ordered catering for 16 – 20 people and was given about half of that. Fortunately 3 of my 11 guests cancelled or we would have been out of food. Embarrassed, ripped off, and no longer a customer of this greedy business. Don’t order catering, you can do better elsewhere.

I like the food very much. Take out is always good and they are always nice when you go in to pickup your order. I really like their pizza and they always cook the pizza just the way I order it. I like their soups and when I order soup for take out it is always hot I like that.

My train commute home once a week — a call to Tarantella’s with an order for a chicken parm, an eggplant parm, and a mozzarella salad. Maybe a side of meatballs if I’m feeling lucky(sometimes they’re fluffy and delicious and sometimes they’re dense and dry — why?). The salad dressing really is special. I save the extra one they put in the bag and ration it for a week. The red sauce is pretty good. Not as good as my nonna’s, but good enough. I think their version of penne vodka(Sparta) is just ok — needs more of a kick, and more pork. The catering trays are what makes my friends want to make the trek from NYC, and their service is always with a smile. Can’t go wrong. Except sometimes with the meatballs. Why!!!

Always great value. Traditional Italian American dishes in a casual atmosphere. Eggplant parm is good. They also have meatball sliders on garlic knots :)

My family and I decided to eat out at a local restaurant, and settled on this one for some Italian food. Since this has been around for years, we decided to give this one a try. Went in a little after 6pm, and encountered a 15 minute wait, which was reasonable. After that, we were seated promptly with menus. Two minutes later, our friendly and attentive waitress came and took our drink orders, and came back with them and warm bread. Three minutes after our orders were taken, our side house salads(which was good!) arrived. 10 minutes after the orders were taken, our main courses arrived. I had the Chicken Marsala with Penne. The chicken was tender and flavorful, and the sauce itself was really good. My parents had veal and seafood entrees, and they enjoyed them as well. For dessert, we all split the Choco Pistachio Cannoli and Tiramisu among ourselves. The Cannoli was a limited-edition dessert, and although it was really sweet, it tasted good. The Tiramisu was really tasty! Overall, the food was excellent, and the prices were very good. Service was excellent and speedy, which was a HUGE plus for our experience. The owner of the restaurant stood at one spot and overlooked all of the patrons, just to make sure nothing was amiss during their experiences. That was fine. If I get another craving for local Italian food, then I know exactly where to go next time. :) Cheers!
