My boyfriend and I went here for our Valentine’s Day. When you first walk in you notice the warmth of the ambiance. It almost had a 5 start restaurant appeal to it. Very nice! We were seated and our waitress, Jaime, introduced herself. I really liked her. She was personable, but not too friendly were your food gets cold because the server can’t stop talking to you. She was awesome. I had the Octopus for an app and the horseradish salmon for an entrée. My boyfriend had chicken soup and the filet. The octopus was cooked perfectly, not rubbery at all, very good. The chicken soup was homemade. Not better than mine, but it was still good :-). The steak was perfectly cooked and had a good flavor. When my «salmon» came to the table I noticed that it was actually sea bass. No big deal. Mistakes happen. I called Jaime over, she apologized, the owner came over to apologize and they fixed it right away. Then once the meal was complete Jaime handed us the desert menu and said it was on the house. That’s what I appreciate most. Yes, the food was good but the main reason I’ll come back is because of the customer service. I don’t care if the food tastes like rainbows and unicorns, if the service sucks I’m not coming back. Thank you guys for a great experience.

I’m so mad I haven’t tried this place sooner. Wow so good. I had the surf and turf and it was out of this world. Had the crème brûlée for dessert which was also on point. Cannot wait to come back. If you haven’t tried this place yet you are definitely missing out. Don’t forget to unlock the 15% coupon on Unilocal for this place.

Been going to Bistro ever since it started running in Clark. The food is great. King Kong roll is to die for. The ambience is also quite nice.

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Came here with some friends for dinner and we ordered a Spicy tuna roll for myself as an appetizer, the beef satay for my friend and salad for my friend. The sushi was ok, not anything great but then again this isn’t a sushi spot. My friend really enjoyed her satay. The beef was tender and nicely marinated. For entrees, I had the grilled brazino and my friend ordered some chicken and whole wheat pasta dish. We were both really pleased with our entrees. My only complain is that there was just a tad too much garlic on the plate for me. It was used in the sauteed greens and in the sauce that my fish was on. Luckily it was crushed cloves so it was easy for me to pick out. Everything on the menu looked very tempting and since I was pretty please with the food during this visit, I can’t wait to return and try out other dishes!

I have never been disappointed with anything I have tried at this place. Wonderful staff and the most delicious food! If you love sushi you must try the King Kong roll!

I love love this restaurant and have recommended it to all my friends. The food is amazing and the calamari(both buffalo and balsamic) is the best I ever had. The waitresses are personable as well as very knowledgeable and helpful in making your selections. Michael, the owner, was very accommodating and hands on. This is a jewel of a restaurant and can be overlooked because it is tucked away at Raritan Shopping Center. You won’t be disappointed in this eatery. The atmosphere is great and there is no rush for your table as in some places. It is not easy to find a restaurant that is not a chain in my area so discovering Bistro 1051 has been a wonderful gift !

Although I am unfamiliar with the area, I was meeting up with friends coming from out of town, and selected Bistro 1051 based on the Unilocal reviews. The restaurant is tucked into a small shopping center with plenty of parking, and was easy to locate. When I arrived, I was greeted and accommodated immediately. I mentioned that we would have a small child, and was immediately set up with a high chair and crayons, etc. The rest of my party arrived shortly after, and were also attended to immediately. Our server was Jessica, and the service throughout the evening was on point. She and the staff were conscious that we were catching up, and addressed our needs with as few interruptions as possible. We ordered the fried calamari to start which was crispy and tender. Our meal selections ranged from sushi to pasta to short ribs, and what wasn’t eaten onsite was taken home. The owner introduced himself and made us feel welcome, and all in all, we had a great experience at Bistro 1051. I will definitely come back again the next time I am in the area!

First of all, BESTCHICKENMARSALA I’ve ever had and the French Toast Bread pudding is a must have! My sister and I had to throw our other sister a last minute Surprise Bridal shower. So we googled and Bistro 1051 was one of the places we called. From the Minute we spoke over the phone, Michael(the owner) was so helpful and kind. We set an appointment to see the venue 2 days later. Michael treated us like family. He took care of my sister and I and out very hard to please mother. She was so happy with our choice of venue and did I mention BYOB! How can you beat that? We ordered some of the food to try before the bridal shower. AMAZING! Yes, you might wait a little longer than some places for your food but its because once you taste it you taste the freshness and love that they put into every dish. The staff was so friendly and spoke highly of Michael and the restaurant. When your staff loves you, you know you’re doing something right. The day of the bridal shower. The staff was more than helpful. They brought extra tables that we needed last minute. They helped set up everything even when we didn’t ask. The day went so smoothly and EVERYONE couldn’t stop talking about how delicious the food tasted. The surprised bride to be love the venue(and she is very picky). We owe this successful bridal shower to Michael, His restaurant and the staff. THANKYOU! I love this place and I will be back with more of my friends and family.

Very good service. Picked the wrong order and the owner came out and went above and beyond. Gave us a gift card, and dessert. Very very very hospitable and it touched our hearts. Definitely come here because you can’t beat the service.

My wife and I were in the neighborhood paying a condolence call. Where to go for a fast lunch? Bistro 1051 seemed like a good choice. Bottom line? Good but not great. Our server was outstanding. She handled the whole room by herself. Very friendly and efficient. Only lapse was getting the check before we requested it. The food. Bistro burger, rare with fries for me. Linguine-clams, bacon, basil, roasted garlic, white clam sauce for my wife. My burger was merely adequate. The burger wasn’t rare. The bacon was not crisp. The fries were soggy. Some were not cooked through. My wife’s pasta though was outstanding. A five star dish. Bistro 1051 is a nice place. I’m sure I caught them on an off day. Will give the place another try soon.

One of those places I would give 5 stars to because of great customer service, made to order food, and delicious sangria. Love the way the restaurant looked, had a modern vibe to it. And all the dishes I tried were spectacular. I ordered rhe chefs special; bowtoe pasta with broccoli in a garlic butter sauce. It came out hot and I enjoyed every bite of it. It seems like a simple dish to order, but I could tell the ingredients were fresh. I also tried my friends ravioli, and its not hard to mess up ravioli but this was easily one of the best ravioli dishes I had tried in a while To top it off, the sangria was absolute perfection, not too light or strong and a great flavor. I will be coming back here for lunch!

Went with 3 friends. BYOB is great. Service was great as well. Appetizers: we had shrimp and chorizo and balsamic calamari. Both were excellent. Bread dipping in the plate good Dinner: I ordered the spicy marinara seafood linguini. It was a little fishy and some of it was overcooked(like scallops). I’m glad I ate so much bread! Other people ordered the short ribs which I did try, they were good. Pumpkin ravioli I was told was good and then a veal dish. No complaints. Dessert: Nutella crepes and apple crisp. Nutella crepes were great, I wish they would skip the fake strawberry sauce though. 2 people unfortunately got sick. Not sure why or if it can be connected. But overall not worth going back to.

Was disappointed with Bistro 1051. Took a candidate, who was interviewing the next day with us at work, out for dinner there. The bread was a bit dry and uninspiring to start with. The shrimp and chorizo app was the highlight of the evening — it was very good. My veal osso bucco was mediocre — a little dry, which is inexcusable for osso bucco, and kind of bland. The lobster risotto was also mediocre — almost like mac-n-cheese. The candidate’s chicken parm was good, but not great. Interesting menu and the service was good, so I may try again, but 3 stars for me is pretty low. Restaurants worse than that I tend to not even review, since I know I won’t go back again — it’s also pretty rare that I have a really bad meal out to eat, so worse than 3 stars would be unusual for me.

I enjoyed my first visit here. The sashimi was very good and the service was excellent. The miso soup was good; balsamic calamari was a large portion, but just ok. The bread was fresh, but not hot, which would have been better and which I think is what they intend. It is byo which is a major plus. The Sushi/steak/Italian menu takes some getting used to, but makes it good for families and groups with different preferences.

I was surprised that the lunch was so good. I had the tuna Tartar served on thin rice crackers. The tuna was piled high on the small plate appetizer. My friend enjoyed the Sushi special with 2 rolls and miso soup. The other member of the lunch team had the calamari salad not my thing but the grilled calamari was on top of a salad with black sesame seeds. I don’t go out to lunch often but this was a lovely meal.

Identity crisis gone rightttt. This place offers american, italian, and japanese food, it’s kind of amazing. Took a few minutes to get seated, but no problem other than that. BYOB definitely helps and the service was great. The pre-meal bread is good, just need more oil to go with it! we actually asked for a second round of bread. As for the food, everyone else got italian and i took my chances and got some sushi and to my surprise, it was really good. Fish was fresh and hearty. They didn’t skimp out on the fish like some actual japanese restaurants. go figure. My favorite was the spicy tuna hand roll that I got. It wasn’t your typical mashed up tuna mixed in with sauce. It was just flat out a huge chunk of tuna with spicy sauce drizzled on. Not spicy enough for me, but definitely better than most places with the ground up tuna. Everyone else had leftovers of their food, so the portions are pretty big. Staff was really nice and overall service was on point. Would return if im in the area or have a hankering for some amer-ita-nese food.

I was a tad worried that Bistro 1051 had a little bit of an identity crisis(sushi AND Italian food AND steak on the same menu?) but my fears were quickly dissolved. Fresh warm bread upon being seated. Don’t mind if I do! The balsamic calamari was sweet and tangy with a nice, flaky tempura coating. Huge portion and it was just as amazing the next day. Our sushi was presented nicely and it delivered on taste. The deep-fried cheesecake dessert was well worth the calories. They even split the order for us for ease of sharing. I would have eaten the whole damn thing in 7 seconds if the plate was put in between us. Our table was visited often but without being intrusive. Water glasses were readily filled and we appreciated this since we were pretty dehydrated from our day at the beach. And the 15% off Unilocal check-in deal was honored with a smile. If I say nothing else about our experience here, then I must comment on how excellent the waitstaff was. Extra star just for that. Everyone from the hostess to the servers to the manager were fantastic. Our dinner was timed perfectly, and I love places that employ enthusiastic people who have a vested interest in the menu as well as their patron’s experience. I don’t think you can go wrong if you go the sushi or the Italian or the steak route. Go ahead and give this eclectic menu a try tonight!
