Our family of 5 stopped in for lunch while vacationing in nearby Helen, GA. The atmosphere is modern and comfortable. The food was very good. We had a variety of dishes from burgers, to pasta with grilled chicken, to wraps. Everything was fresh and good. The wait staff was also attentive and friendly.

We went here because Helen was covered up with Memorial Day traffic. So glad we did! Wonderful atmosphere, friendly service, and delicious food. This is now going to be a regular dinner spot for us when we vacation in Helen.

Good food and slightly above average prices. The environment of this place is pretty nice though. Especially for the clarkesville area. Service above par too.

Lovely ambiance, decent food, friendly but usually slow staff. As a vegetarian I do wish there were more options(side items even). I’ve been here three times and will likely be back. For me, this is a great lunch spot but there are better places for a nice dinner.

I went with a group to this restaurant for lunch. The restaurant was bitter cold. My feet were numb by the time I left. It took a long time to get served. When the food did come, several people’s food was cold. My food was Ok, everyone who got soup said it was very good. When we got the bill, the waitress told us she added 15% tip because of the group, but when I did the math, she actually added 21%! I don’t know if she punched in the wrong number or was trying to con us out of a bigger tip thinking we might bump it up a few dollars. They did go out of their way to give us plates for a desert that we brought in which is the only reason I’m giving a 3 star instead of 2.

I am glad I revisited the place. Came here 2 years ago and service was slow. It is so different last night. Great menu and service is awesome too. I hope they keep this up.

Atmosphere was very nice, really looked like the inside of an attic. Old antiques pieces, and other homey decorations. Service was pretty good, hot coffee, and refills. My girlfriend was very happy about the rustic look. We split the Buffalo chicken wrap with onion rings and the pineapple chicken salad with honey mustard dressing. Both were very good. Crisp fresh lettuce, perfectly juicy pineapples, the chicken salad on top was also great, not too much mayo flavor, and the dressing was also tasty. The wrap was great, awesome flavors, great buffalo sauce although could have used a little more kick. Onion rings were also very good. Great prices. Bill came to $ 20. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area, or just passing through as we were. I am quite satisfied.

This is my absolute favorite restaurant. My family and I come in often and while I’ve ordered everything on the menu, my favorite dish is the salmon spinach salad. My stepfather and brothers enjoy their stews and especially enjoy that bread bowls are offered as I don’t think any of the other local restaurants offer them. I’ve never had a bad experience here.

So here is the long and short version for you. I hope this helps. Was on the way back from North Georgia and was hungry. My friend and I had been working all day at his lake house. Called ahead because this place is popular. Jay the owner said that they were full all night; however, if we arrived before 5:30 he could have a table for us. We arrived at exactly 5:30 and our table was waiting. However, the best was yet to come. They have changed the menu and it rocks. The icing on the cake was our waitress Annie, she works the weekends. Make sure you ask for her, she keeps you entertained and knows the menu well. She never wrote anything down and what we ordered arrived. Of all the restaurants in Clarksville I consider this the best. I base this on my numerous visit just never taken time to write a review.

I have to commend the wait staff at The Attic for helping us feed our dairy and egg-allergy son without issues. They even brought out the bag of pasta for us to read the ingredients. We enjoy eating out on the patio and have been thankful for the option to give our little man something to eat without fear of allergy issues. However, I will say that the food is just ok. The ribs are amazing and worth the price but everything else that we’ve had is simply ok. I would give a lower score except for the ability to eat out with our son. I’ve seen other reviewers talk about the wait to sit or be waited on by someone, but that hasn’t been a problem for us.

Turned away from a nearby restaurant we decided to give The Attic a try. The décor is romantic homey and I liked the single red rose on each table. We were seated quickly at 6pm on a Friday and our server was very attentive. My mom had the special, the swai fish, and I had the pecan crusted trout. She loved her dish — my crust was a little more cooked than I would have liked but the peach sauce complemented it well. There were several other entrees on the menu that I would try.

Group of 6. Everyone very impressed. Simple pasta and seafood pasta excellent. Seasoning just right. Great service. Dessert fried cheesecake was great and enough for everyone. Johnny spilled his Coke(yes he was drinking Coke) into his wife’s pasta but fortunately she was already full and just smiled sweetly. He stated his ribeye was cooked to perfection and homemade bread was a great meal in itself.

Excellent. My most favorite restaurant ever!!! Great menu, with a wide variety of menu choices– from good salads to soups to great apps & lots of dinner choices! Best fried shrimp I have ever had! Delicious roasted red pepper soup! Even better in the bread bowl! Yummy spinach dip with fresh fried pita chips! The shrimp cakes are delicious & full of shrimp! Peanut butter pie was tasty! The BEST place!

Came here with wifey on our meandering drive home from staying at a B&B near Helen. Several locals during our stay commented that we would enjoy this restaurant. And YES we sure did! Originally we were going to sit outside, but the traffic was a bit noisy for our taste. I could see however how this attractive outdoor seating area would be fantastic in the right circumstances. The décor was fun and kitschy without being fussy and«programmed» like you would find at a chain. We each got a glass of wine. Yes, it was lunchtime but it’s 5 o’clock somewhere and we were vacationing, so give me a break. I had the house Pinot Grigio which was clean and crisply tasty. Wifey had some expensive red I don’t recall. That’s just how she rolls. We weren’t up for any appetizers, so we went ahead and ordered. Reuben sandwich for me and a blue cheese burger for wifey. I’m not big into fries so I got broccoli while wifey nabbed some onion rings. My broccoli was cooked just about perfectly for what I was hoping and the onion rings looked pretty killer. I wouldn’t know how they tasted since wifey dove into them with a protective gusto which said, «Back off, bucko. These rings are MINE!» I can only assume the taste was agreeable based on how quickly she devoured them. My Reuben was an excellent balance of nice tart sauerkraut and the dressing. Sometimes these sandwiches get ruined with too much goo. This one was excellent. The burger(yes I finally got a taste of something off her plate) was vey good as well. Service was attentive, competent and not fussy. Overall the experience was satisfying and fun. Bön appetite!

Lunch today: not good. I have been here before and thought my first visit(dinner) with my partner and my parents was pretty good. Today was a real let-down. I have an injured foot and had to visit the doctor’s in Demorest. We needed to drive through Clarkesville to go back to the place we were staying. It was about 3 p.m. so not a good time to find a place for lunch, but we saw a few tables seated in The Attic and decided to stop. There were two other tables seated and the waitress was very prompt and attentive. I am trying to get enough Atlantic fish to satisfy me before going back to the left coast. I ordered the Mahi Mahi sandwich without a bun and side of onion rings. My partner ordered the blue cheese & bacon burger(rare) with side of pasta salad. When our plates came out they were very sad looking! My plate had a piece of blackened dolphin(Mahi) and three LARGE onion rings. That’s it. No plating was done. Seriously, how does a chief send a plate out that looks bare and unattractive? Really no excuse, just laziness. The waitress asked if she could get me some lettuce, tomatoes and Remoulade sauce and I said yes. My onion rings were lame! Three massive rings that were very unappealing. The onions were soggy and felt really gross in my mouth. The outside was crispy but honestly, you have to do onion rings right… small rings, light crispy batter or even onion strings would be better than these things. I left one of the onions on the plate it was too soggy to eat. My partner’s plate was equally as boring. He had a bowl of pasta which was very nice tasting and a burger but no lettuce, onions, tomatoes, no ketchup/mustard/mayo came out w/the plate. It was strange. She brought him lettuce/tomatoes and onion pieces. The burger was supposed to be rare, but it sure looked MEDIUM to us. Really sad to drop the ball even at 3 p.m. If you are too tired to cook, then close the doors between lunch and dinner. We are pretty sorry we had such a disappointing visit this time. I wish I had taken pictures, but you’ll have to take my word for it.

Went for dinner on Saturday(last weekend), and the food was DELICIOUS. I ordered the buffalo chicken tender appetizer and fries, and my son got the kid’s three-cheese baked pasta with fries. A friend went with us and ordered the chicken tenders and onion rings. All of our food was great, and there were plentiful servings. The cheesecake(plain) was DIVINE. Seriously. We thought we would share one piece between the three of us, and we probably should have gotten two slices. I think our waitress got a little frustrated with us because we asked about bread, but we weren’t being impatient — in fact, we were willing to pay for it — we just wanted to know if it was something that came with the meal or not, since we ordered appetizers instead of entrees(we weren’t charged extra, for those of you who wondered). It took a long time to get our drink order taken, and then about ten minutes went by before our waitress came back to take our order. The menu specifies that you should allow up to 30 minutes to get your food, and ours didn’t take nearly that long(probably because we ordered food with minimal prep time). I’m glad the warning was on the menu, though — not for my sake, but I like to see a restaurant that takes pride in their food enough to say, «Hey, we make this stuff as you order it with fresh ingredients, so cut us some slack here.» The interior of the restaurant has an industrial feel with a bit of shabby/Italian charm. Each table has a table cloth covered with a thick brown butcher-style paper that makes for an easy clean-up and quick table turnover, so we were able to be seated pretty quickly. Overall, I think it’s a great restaurant with a great feel and excellent food.

Glad we stopped. Amanda was fast, sweet, and helpful. Ribeye burger is perfect. Don’t make the same mistake I did– putting ketchup and mustard on it. Oops! It needs nothing. Impressive.

The first thing I noticed is that the attic is very strong on customer service. I went as part of a group of 14 people, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. Our visit was altogether enjoyable. They don’t have any beers on tap, but they do have a selection of bottled craft, domestic, and import beers as well as a selection of wines. I tried the Sweetwater 420, which is a nice IPA. On to the food! We sampled a few of the appetizers, some of which included spinach artichoke dip, nachos, mozzarella cheese sticks, and the fried green tomatoes. You can’t go wrong with any of these! as for dinner, I chose the tuna steak on a cucumber salad bed, which I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend either. If you happen to be in the area I’d say should check this place out!

It still amazes me, as a city person, that one can get in a car, drive to a center of a town, and find ample parking,(for free), directly behind the very restaurant you are going to. We came here for a quiet Saturday afternoon lunch — this was my first time heading this way for a bite, and it is another example of classic, small town food that one can go to repeatedly and probably never get tired of. Unilocal offers up a nice coupon for a glass of wine — but it is only for house wines, so if you have a craving for a nice glass of Malbec… that one is full price. The menu has a variety of options that would be sure to please just about anyone. If you read my reviews you know I spend a good amount of time with my Mom in SW Florida, where fresh Mahi Mahi can be found just about anywhere, so I had mixed feelings when planning to order the Blackened Mahi sandwich this far from the Gulf. But the more I thought about it, the more I wanted it… and it was really very good. I recommend getting the remoulade type sauce on the side; it is pretty heavy and you only need a little. Burgers, sandwiches, soups, and salads were enjoyed all around — there were several chicken type food items on the menu that would be on my list to try next — and I saw a buffalo chicken wrap headed to the pass on my way out that looked great. Cool atmosphere, nice people, and good food — definitely worth a visit.
