I have eaten here multiple times on business trips. While the bartenders may come across as creepy or not personable to some as another reviewer mentioned I will say if a patron makes any effort to have conversation with them it is clear they are very personable. I have had several conversations with both and they are great. The food is always pretty good, but a bit overpriced for some dishes. For example, 8 – 10 bucks for a bowl of soup is a bit absurd. Upper twenties for a steak? Sandwiches and burgers are fair prices at 9 – 13 bucks with chips or fries. As for drinks, happy hour offers good prices on select beverages. During regular hours the drinks can be what is expected in a hotel bar(i.e. convenience). If you’re looking for a well kept, clean bar with TVs and some food in the area this is worth a look.

Chef is overly fond of cilantro. Burger was made with American instead of the way it appeared on the menu, with provolone. Service was problematic as well. For the prices I expected a consistent quality of food and service that wasn’t apparent.

Very good. Better than expected. Not too expensive either. Turkey BLT, and Chicken sandwich were both very good. Fries excellent as well

Claymont’s best kept secret! We stayed here traveling down south on a whim. Embers is a nice restaurant in a Crowne Plaza in the middle of nowhere with surprisingly amazing food. The décor is modern and looms really new. The hummus appetizers was better than most Greek places I’ve been to. The Kenneth Square burger was also amazing along with the fries that came with. The staff was very friendly. We didn’t see any ‘cereal’ killers like other reviewers… in fact the bartender could not have been nicer to us.

The place is actually nice looking. Very modern. The have a cool fireplace. Nice lounge chairs. BUT… The bar tender spent more time watching TV than serving his customers. He also looks like a cereal killer. The food is OK nothing special. If you are stuck in a hotel and need a drink it will do. It is sad because this area is a dead zone for good food and drink and this place could be great with a little better management. I come here once a year and will continue to as long as the hotel stays clean.

Wow! Excellent food, had the best crab cake sandwich yet! The waitress was extremely attentive. For a hotel restaurant this is top of the line. And the price wasnt bad only $ 13.00.

The food here is astoundingly and surprisingly good. The chef obviously cares and runs daily specials. My fried chicken special could have been horrible, and yet it was light and flaky, well seasoned, and just plain delicious. My co-worker’s meal was similarly fantastic. We contemplated driving somewhere else for dinner and stayed here to be lazy, but were very happy that we did. Order the daily special.
