I love this place. They always make you feel like family. No bake cookies are soooo good, maybe too good. You should try the Wayne Chai!

I’ve been driving by almost on a daily basis but never been in there once, today(5⁄21) I finally had the chance to stop on in and get me a beverage and something to eat, the barista prepared my beverage perfectly and the sandwich I got was prepared was very good, I highly recommend stopping at Gunnar’s for a hot or cold beverage and something to eat.

Awsome very cozy place. People very friendly. Owner remembered us even though it had been at least a month since the last time we were there. Food is really good simple with lots of flavor. Made with fresh ingrediants. Lots of healthy options. Gluten free options are so good you would never know they were gluten free. Any time we are near clu Elum we try to get here for either breakfast or lunch. Soups and sandwiches made to order.

Best little hidden place in Cle Elum The food is outstanding and you must try the berry waffle. Be prepared to wait but it’s worth it.

If you decide to go here, go during the week! The ladies are quick, friendly and consistent and food is great. On the weekends, it’s a whole different story! Terrible everything… Service, food, drinks, wait time!

When we asked for a local recommendation of where we could wait for our car to be fixed, the answer was quick and definitive: Gunnar’s Café. And I can see why. Excellent coffee, delicious pastries, friendly service, hot soup, and perhaps the best surprise of all, a pretty decent reuben sandwich. All in all, it’s a killer combination, and makes for a lot of pretty compelling reasons to relax and hang out for a while. Gunnar’s shop is a warm delight on a cold winter’s day, with space to sit downstairs, as well as a cozy area upstairs to chill. While we were there, many came to get their Monday coffee and go, while others sat down for a chat, or brought a laptop to work or study. We opted for the latter option, and picked a couple big chairs upstairs and a table for ourselves. Best decision ever. Next time we’re in Cle Elum, we’ll be sure to stop by at Gunnar’s again. Even if our car doesn’t need a visit to the local repair shop.

We were in Cle Elum for one day and were undecided about where to eat. So I opened my trusty Unilocal app to see if I could find a treasure. I love eating out for breakfast so we had two options, Cottage Café with higher ratings, a full parking lot, but a pretty standard menu. Or Gunnar’s. The menu is really limited, but looked very interesting and good. In my mind if you only have a few items on your menu, they will probably be very good. Maybe if my food had come out hot, I would have a better opinion. I ordered the Scramble because the hashbrown casserole sounded delicious. The first bite was cold. Second bite, lukewarm. Tasted the eggs, barely warm. So I brought my plate to the kitchen(there isn’t a typical waitress situation here, you order food at the counter and they bring it to you) and asked if she could heat it up in the microwave. At this point I wasn’t too upset because I knew it would be hot at least. As I was eating it, I realized they didn’t put the sausage in my scramble. This item consists of one meat and two veggies with cheese. I chose sausage, mushrooms and spinach. Seriously, how do you forget to put the meat in this? Totally ruined my experience. Not happy, won’t ever come back. Do yourself a favor and try somewhere else if you want a sit down breakfast. I gave it two stars because my boyfriends meal came hot and he liked it. Oh and another thing, we were told it would take 15 minutes because good food takes time. The hashbrown casserole is pre-made as was the casserole that my boyfriend ordered. So, it apparently takes 15 minutes to scramble some eggs with a couple of veggies and throw on some cheese. Maybe they should give up on breakfast and just make lattes. If you do order a latte, go one size bigger because the top couple of inches will be foam. I gave them my money and they didn’t even come close to providing what they promised on their menu or website. They were friendly at least. But I wished I chose another place to eat. Next time it will be the Cottage Café or Roslyn Café or I’ll drive to Ellensburg for my favorite, Pita Pit!

Came in at 11:30am, but no problem ordering from breakfast menu. Friendly greeting from ladies at counter. Ordered breakfast sandwich on biscuit with ham. Egg and biscuit were near perfect and generous amount of ham. Also ordered breakfast casserole, which was equally good. My husband said the coffee was very good, and he was quite impressed that the refill was free — not generally the case anymore. The experience made us wish we weren’t tourists who could come more often.

A must stop when driving through Cle Elum. Tasty baked treats, no bake peanut butter balls, and the coffee is the best in town. Food takes awhile but is really good and generous portions and the staff is awesome.
