Lou Lou’s Delicatessen

My husband n I ate the both of us had the same thing .the Reuben both of us got very sick .will never. Eat there again… very disappointed

I have been coming into this place for several months now and have not been let down yet.
The menu is expansive and a bit pricey for some but when you consider what you are getting, it washes out in the delicious hearty subs and sandwiches.
It’s a eclectic atmosphere, with a friendly staff and owner.
I give them 5 stars because they stand up to any of the relies in Ny city.

I was not that impressed with Lou Lou’s. I got the steak and cheese sub, the steak was more like hamburger than steak. I may go back again but I don’t know.

Nothing terrible but nothing great either. I like the concept of a deli making & serving food that makes you fondly remember home made cooking. Really the overall experience was just alright for me though & I certainly won’t ever fondly remember the day I stopped at this establishment. The staff seemed very friendly & helpful, the place was certainly clean enough for dinning in. After the wait though my belly & I were expecting a little bit higher quality. I can see why some comment on the prices but in my opinion higher quality comes at a higher price, perhaps another reason my belly & I were expecting a bit more.

Their subs could easily feed a family of four. They are huge! They load it with quality deli meats & their bread is so fresh!
Staff is extremely friendly & professional. The inside has a very home-​y feel & great atmosphere.
My last visit I ordered the pulled pork wrap, which was eh, it was kind of hard to chew bc it wasn’t shredded as much. It was still delicious flavor wise, just wished it was a little more tender. I totally would skip subway & go straight back to Lou lou’s

Ate here 2 times tried to give them a second chance. I wanted this place to make it because it was a good concept. Unfortunately, it is over priced, poor quality food. I tried to explain to Courtney what the problem was with the food and she was rude and abrasive. Just because you give large portions does not mean it’s good. Quality is better than quantity. Ok so on first visit, I had the soup and sandwich the first time. The soup was chicken noodle and it was like they took 2 kinds of canned soup and mixed them together was not homemade as I would have hoped for. The grilled cheese was small and less than average. They did not tell me I had a cheese choose and they put cheap American processed cheese on it. When I said something about it, instead of apologizing and making it right, I got attitude.
Upon my second visit I ordered the crab cake and slaw. The slaw was good actually. But the crab cake was gross, salty, greasy and burnt on the bottom. They said it would be all jumbo lump with no fillers. It was not jumbo lump and it was mostly breading. I could not even finish it. So I could not eat it was gross. And what I did eat if it made me sick for the rest of the day. I went in and told them and asked if they want to see it. Courtney said there was nothing wrong with it and told me to go eat at Denny or McDonald’s. Terrible customer service. Unless they make some major changes I give them 6 months. The place was empty.

All of the food is expensive, but not all of it is worth the money. I live nearby, so I eat at Lou’s about once a month. It took a couple of visits to figure out what menu items are the best.
Pros
–Order an italiano grand and split it with a friend– good value this way.
–They roast their own pulled pork. The pulled pork sub is excellent.
–In the summer, they smoke their own pulled pork. Look for the smoker outside!
–Ask them to add courtney sauce on anything, it is awesome!
Cons
–The steak and cheese is two chopped steak patties on a sub roll. Doesn’t even taste like steak.
–The wraps are a bit expensive for what you get. Subs and sandwiches are the way to go.

I went here about a year ago with my friend and we both order a French onion soup and a sub. Food was good and portions were big, but it took and hour and 15 minutes to get our food and we were only the third customers in the building.

I had the cream of crab and cheesesteak deluxe. The soup was amazing with nice chunks of crab. It was definitely the best cheesesteak in the area. They need to add chips with the sandwich or a fountain drink. The prices are a little steep for around here. It’s not like it’s a Katz deli in NYC. People around here want a $ 5 footlong. I’ll be coming back for more when I’m in the mood for another cheesesteak. I just hope they can stay in business.

I don’t know anyone would rate this place less that 4 stars. This place is awesome! The pricing is steep and the food takes a while to cook but it’s well worth both. Food tastes great, portions are huge. Don’t be fooled by the modest exterior because the interior is LOADED with charm and character. Gotta check this place out..

We ate here about two weeks ago & used a
certificate. The food was good, portions were generous, & everything very fresh. The pricing seems to be ala cart & higher than what I’d normally spend for lunch. The staff was very friendly & it’s like you’re sitting in someone’s home, nice atmosphere. My boyfriend ordered a panini & it would have been nice to know it was going to take 20 minutes to make/​cook because we were hungry when we ordered. We’ll probably go here again, but not regularly just due to the price.

The food was ok. We felt it was over priced for what you get. I ordered a BLT wrap and felt like it only had 2 pcs of bacon on it. When you order a sandwich chips are extra. ($ 1.25) So for two wraps with chips and a very small side salad out total was just shy of $ 25. That was our 2^nd time there. I doubt we go back again.

This place is awesome! Food is great! Taste and quality! Staff is friendly! I will def be heading back to this place! Prices are fair as well! Good food and service at a good place, with a peaceful enviornment!

Not much good to say about this experience. The staff were friendly… Unfortunately this is one of those places where quantity trumps quality. The sandwiches were large but not good. The meat on the Italian cold cut was definitely not deli sliced. Right out of a package. Nothing to see here folks. In no way is this a NY. style deli.

This place is a great find! If you are looking for something a little more «Mom and Pop» rather than chains and fast food for lunch, THIS IS THE PLACE!
I stopped here with 5 co-​workers. We all had something different. Everyone of us loved our food more than the other. Plus, you will have leftovers! The portions are HUGE!
This is the type of place where it doesn’t matter what you order, it will be good! I have no idea how people can give this place a bad review. I’m a firm believer that some people just don’t know what good food tastes like.

Great place that I found by accident… my lucky day.
The prime rib dip was great. Rip… don’t leave without dessert!!!
The coconut cake was phenomenal.
The staff was very, very friendly, continuously walking around to see how everything was.

The classic Italian was awesome, massive amounts of meat and fantastic meal. The classic steak and cheese was «Eh», basically it was a cheese burger on a hoagie roll. Not really a good deal for the money
