Cider Press Deli & Grill

Cute place. Good food. Wish they served different coffee, but everything else is great.

This is now our favorite stop during our 400 mile commute. Super friendly staff, locally sourced food and reasonably priced.

Not bad, not bad at all. Cook time was a bit longer than I expected for lunch hour. Ordered a bacon cheeseburger sub, the hamburger had a great taste and was cooked well. I didnt get the grilled onions I asked for and had to remind the waitress that I ordered fries with it. But the meal was very good overall. My wife ordered the Turkey panini with avocado, she said whatever dressing they used made it a bit salty but she enjoyed it. You have to check this place out for yourself but overall I would recommend this place to family and friends. BTW the price is what you would expect for farm fresh ingredients. The waitress did take my fries without asking if I was done, that kinda irked me at the end of this good experience.

The food was a bit pricey, but very good. I think the pricing is justified since it’s all local meat and veggies. I’ll definitely be coming back for the burger and pistachio cake. So good.

If you didn’t know this place was here already, you may not stumble across it randomly… It’s located in the back half of a family farm market.
That said, once you are inside and seated, you’ll be impressed with the industrial/​agricultural décor. In some ways it feels new, and in other ways it feels like it’s been around for awhile…
The kitchen is rumored to be run by the locally famous ‘Douby’, who once had a great place to eat closer to town. The service was a bit slow, but it seemed to be during a rush.
Well, the food is certainly delicious! Everything is served ‘Will I Am’ Fresh! I was told that once the growing season is in, almost all of the ingredients will be acquired from local farms.
One negative: I think the prices are set a bit high for the area. I work locally, and probably won’t go there as much because of this…

I went to check out this local restaurant a few days ago with a friend.
Pros: nice atmosphere. It is well decorated and very homey.
Menu was varied with lots of lunch type choices .
Food was ok.
The iced tea was quite good.
Cons: prices were high especially for the size portions. I ordered a side salad which was $ 2.50. There was less than one piece of lettuce on the plate one slice of cucumber, two cherry tomatoes and three croutons. Less than two bites of salad on a tiny plate.
Food was ok, but nothing great. I had a burger with onion rings. I got five onion rings and a small burger for ten bucks. My friend got their special salad which was over 10 dollars. She didn’t feel it was worth it.
I might go again but I was hoping it would become a place I wanted to go on a regular basis. Oh well. …

I was not expecting such a large dining room behind what was previously just the farmer’s market store front. They have done a good job outfitting the space with an industrial-​meets-​farmhouse feel. There are some great photos on the wall of their family farm and an old black and white area farm shot.
The menu was comprised of mostly sandwiches, wraps, and salads. Drink selection was made up of various sodas and teas, both fountain and bottled, and Black Dog coffee. The fountain drinks were served in tall mason jar style glasses. They offer a selection of pies and cakes for dessert, displayed in the case by the hostess station.
We ordered the Southwest Shrimpanada appetizer (mini shrimp empanadas with black beans and veggies). They were excellent, served in shot glasses with some kind of ranch dressing in the bottom. They came out piping hot and were a good size for two people to share for an appetizer.
I got the roast beef and bleu cheese panini and added onion to it. The sandwich was served on sourdough bread that has been pressed in a panini grill, but the contents of the sandwich were not hot. Maybe it’s supposed to be like that? I also realized that the bleu cheese on it was actually feta. It’s not so big a deal for me, because I love feta cheese, but I asked our server about it. She talked to the kitchen staff and confirmed that they had run out of bleu cheese. The cook put feta on it without mentioning it to the wait staff. :-/​Our server offered to fix it right away and investigated my question. Then, when I told her I would eat it anyway, she gave us a break on the bill. I don’t think she could have handled it any better really. The kitchen staff may need some extra training though. All told, my sandwich was pretty good, made with quality ingredients.
My boyfriend got the Reuben, which they can also do with turkey, if that’s your thing. I didn’t try it, but per his assessment, the corned beef was good — thin sliced and not at all stringy. The sandwich as a whole was not so good. The sauerkraut (which I did taste) was more watery than pungent. There was so much liquid that it completely soaked through the bread, and he ended up with a soggy sandwich. He said the bread was toasted and insisted that they needed another bread. After tasting the sauerkraut, I am betting that was the issue.
The house-​made chips though! THE BEST! They were consistently crunchy throughout, and the seasoning they use is a light sprinkling of plain old salt and pepper. Would it be too much to say it would be immoral for them to change the recipe? Maybe, but they were fabulous.
So, it wasn’t a particularly winning experience all around, but I like to give a new place some leeway to work out the kinks. Three stars seems fair for now. I look forward to going back and trying the rest of the menu and watching this place turn into something great. Knowing how much work the owners have put into the store, I have very high hopes for the Cider Press.

Fresh food in a nice atmosphere. Soups are made from scratch and are wonderful. Salads are crisp and tasty.
