I see some other reviews mentioning bad customer service, but we didn’t have that experience so I’m hopeful that it’s really improved. This Taco Johns is located in a convenience store so it’s a very compact location but the space is used pretty well so there’s still quite a bit of seating. The food was better than the salt-o-riffic meal I had at a Taco Johns in South Dakota months ago, leading me to better understand my hubby’s love for this chain. I would choose it over Taco Bell 100 percent of the time! I enjoyed a combo burrito and a couple of Mexi rolls which were nice and beefy without too much of a greasy fried taste, and they came with a choice of sauces so I opted for sour cream and blended it with some of the(free on the sauce bar) pico de gallo… surprisingly fresh tasting and good. The staff were enthusiastic and polite, especially for a crew of young guys working on a Saturday. We got a kick out of overhearing them singing along to the R&B station playing. They don’t actually have a restroom inside Taco Johns but the c-store attached has that covered… if you’re road tripping and in need of facilities, maybe stop there before your meal!

Of course the food is good. It’s Taco Johns, but the service is horrible! When I went in they had what looked like about 6 – 7 people working. For a small joint, that’s a lot of workers. I stood at the counter waiting for somebody to take my order. One worker had a bag of food to give to a customer, after she gave it to him she looked at me and walked away. Why would you walk away from a customer!!! It took them about 7 minutes of me standing there until they took my order. Even while and taking my order their service was horrible. Every worker had the«here you go, now get out» attitude. That place needs a serious renovation for customer service.
