I wish I could give zero stars. I was just charged 8 dollars for 4 sodas. I was waiting for over an hour and a half for two burritos and two plates. They took orders from people that got into the restaurant after we did before they took ours. People who ordered after us were served before us. When asked about or food we got a run around. After waiting another 20 minutes we said we would no longer wait. At this point I felt it was only fair to not charge us for the sodas that weren’t ever refilled. While paying for our drinks they told us they were cooking our food right now and they could make it right now.
We are moving to the area and eat Mexican food out regularly. That was extremely disappointing. If they would just had told us up front about wait times this could have been avoided.
Me gustaría poder dar cero estrellas. Estaba pagan 8 dólares por 4 refrescos. Estaba esperando más de una hora y media para dos burritos y dos placas. Se llevaron a órdenes de las personas que se metieron en el restaurante después de que hicimos antes de que tomaran la nuestra. Las personas que ordenaron después nos sirvieron antes que nosotros. Cuando se le preguntó acerca o comida que nos dieron una vuelta alrededor. Después de esperar otros 20 minutos dijimos que no esperar más. En este momento me sentí que era justo que no nos cobraron por las bebidas gaseosas que no fueron nunca rellenados. Mientras que pagar por nuestras bebidas nos dijeron que estaban cocinando la comida en este momento y que podrían hacerlo en este momento.
Nos estamos moviendo a la zona y comer comida mexicana a cabo con regularidad. Eso fue muy decepcionante. Si sólo nos habían dicho por adelantado acerca de los tiempos de espera que esto podría haberse evitado.

Food is ok, not happy with the fact they use proceeded cheese in many dishes including enchiladas?
Good friendly service. The outside of the restaurant needs cleaning and power washing of side walks pretty dirty. But inside was clean and nice.

I love love love this place. Best Mexican this side of Mexico.
They have the best shrimp tacos.

Authentic & Delicious with an atmosphere similar to places we’ve eaten in Mexico… Every dish we’ve tried has been outstanding! The service is very good and we will keep coming back for more!

My wife and I wanted to meet for her lunch break, which is only one hour. We decided to try this place. We ordered an ice tea and a lemonade with an order of steak nachos. We received our beverages. Our chips and dip were delivered by their children who couldn’t help but put their fingers in the dip. The bean dip was runny and the red dip had a bad odor. After twentyfive minutes we had not received our order, it was only steak nachos. After sitting there for thirty minutes we had not been visited by the service girl to ask if we wanted more chips and dip, or refills on our beverages. After sitting there for over forty minutes, we were tired of waiting and my wife had to get back to work. We never received our order. I left a five dollar bill on the table for the drinks. I hope they use the five dollars to buy some fly stripes because the place is infested with flies. We did not have all day to wait on a order of nachos. I don’t like dirty places with flies, especially when they have awful service. Just another crappy place in Clearlake…

Delicious food! This is my favorite Mexican food in Clearlake.
The staff is friendly. Don’t let the rough exterior of the restaurant put you off, it’s worth a try, and parking out back is an option.

The only suggestion I’d make is the tables should all have napkins them when the customers walk in. I need a napkin when I’m eating chips and salsa.

Actually Delicias Alvarez. Good food for a little family place. Might be the best food in Clearlake, which is not saying much. Zero atmosphere. Friendly, family staff — met the baby. Very, very noisy. Beer but no wine (or liquor).

Don’t be fooled by the size from outside. You can see the kitchen from the front counter and it’s CLEAN and so is the seating. can’t stress that enough! Soo much better than the overpriced or stale zero flavor mexican you can get in Lakeport, Kelseyville or Ukiah. Chicken enchilada was perfect, cheesy/​saucy and the chicken was so fresh and moist. Most flavorful rice since I lived in ATX. Ceviche tostada was fresh and delicious! Will be coming here often!

This place has some of the best mexican food ever. The tacos are made with high quality ingredients and amazing flavor and are only $ 1.50 each! What!?! Those are $ 3 + tacos my friends. I have never been disappointed with the food here. And it is CHEAP. High quality for pretty much nothing, guys.
A few things though:
The menu needs to have a full translation into english. I just order tacos or a combo because I can’t read half of the menu. That may be a draw back for some people and why this place isn’t constantly packed like I think it should be.
The signage outside isn’t great. You can miss it in a second if you’re not really looking for it.
The back patio is massive. But they haven’t put any attention into it. It seems more like a storage area than a dinning area. This patio could be amazing with a little TLC. Like plants and white decorative lights and red shade umbrellas. Maybe a few small water fountains.
The air filtration inside is not very good. I come out smelling like tacos for the rest of the day. Like I stink of it if I spend more than 10 minutes in there. I think they turn their hood fan off when they aren’t cooking. Which I think is a contributing factor to the smokyness and smellage.
And lastly, and this may be one of this biggest reasons they aren’t packed like I said. The service is really not that great. It’s very slow. And the servers are very quiet and not extremely welcoming.
BUT the food IS amazing. Order it for pick up and you bypass all those things I mentioned.

I am really surprised by the negative reviews of this restaurant. I have eaten here at least a dozen times and never had to wait long for my food.
This is a family run restaurant and their food is excellent, not to mention SUPER CHEAP. I believe you can get a torta for around $ 4.99.
They have an excellent and affordable American style breakfast menu, in addition to an entire mexican-​style breakfast menu.

When I first reviewed this little mom and pop, they had just opened and it was nice. They’re garlic shrimp plate (Camerones a la Mojo d Ajo) was nicely done and got my repeat business for awhile.
Having returned for couple of tacos on occasion, I was put off by the amount of gristle and fat in the carnitas and have not been inclined to return. Plus, they’ve been closed down quite a bit and they only see to be open spotty hours/​days.

A wait of over 1 hour for a mediocre burrito for my co-​patron. My first attempt at my order came out with completely different items than I ordered. (I order a plate right off the menu) the final order came out wrong again. Chicken rather than cheese enchilada. It took an hour for the wrong order and I was done with my meal before my co-​patrons was even served.
They never came around to offer more chips, salsa or drinks. Mind you, we had OVER an hour wait for a simple Mexican meal off of the menu, and the restaurant was NOT busy.
Will definitely not return for insanely slow service and mediocre at best food.
I do not even care if its miles to the next Mexican restaurant, I will not go back here.

I really wanted to lkie this place. Quality eating places in Clear Lake are rare. I was not impressed.

Growing up in San-​Diego, We know and appreciate true Mexican food. This is honestly the absolute best Mexican restaurant We’ve ever been too. It’s not fancy or pretentious. It’s like going to a small TRUE Taqueria in Mexico. This small building houses a very, very sweet and efficient waitress and chef. The owner himself does the cooking and was right there working hard. He is very personable besides being an EXCELLENT cook. We had two combo plates: fish tacos with rice and beans and a plate of a chili relleno, cheese enchilada, rice and beans. We were blown away with how delicious, extremely delicious everything was. The artistry of the spices and flavors were phenomenal. We highly, highly recommend this new Mexican restaurant. It’s clean, reasonable and very «down home». We guarantee you will be very pleasantly surprised and become regulars like us!
