Clemson Lofts

I let my roommate talk me into living here because he insisted it wouldn’t be as bad as everyone said it was, and he was right. It wasn’t as bad as everyone said because it is actually way worse. Everything everyone says is true and not even representative of how bad it is. EVERYTHING in the apartment is designed to save the complex money, so it either breaks often or doesn’t even work properly to begin with. My washing machine has been malfunctioning the entire semester, and a month ago it just completely broke. On the year I’ve sent in 5 maintenance requests for it, but here I sit taking laundry to a friends apartment once a week. Also, this is huge, they egregiously lie on their website. To this day they say that they offer HBO, a 24hr Fitness Center, a pool & hot tub (seasonal), a game room with billiards and ping pong table, study lounge/​room and complimentary tanning, and I can assure you that they offer none of this in any way. It honestly seems illegal the way they advertise things that they blatantly don’t offer, but I’m not a lawyer. You can live somewhere easily better than this for much less money, because on top of everything I just said, the Lofts charges you out the ass for rent. Please live somewhere else.

Absolute WORST place to live in Clemson. The Lofts were built over 2 years ago and the clubhouse, pool, gym are still unfinished. Parking is TERRIBLE. There are not enough spaces for residents and cars get ticketed and towed on a regular basis. Continuous maintenance problems that NEVER get fixed. Management is a complete JOKE. You basically have to go to their office and demand someone fix the issue before anything gets done. Don’t bother having any communication via email because you won’t get a response.
Any package larger than an envelope will be sent to the clubhouse, where they have a far from organized system to sort packages. Obviously, it did not come as much surprise when they lost something that was sent to me.
If this isn’t enough to make you not want to life here, The Lofts is located near a sewage plant and the whole complex constantly smells. The scent even comes into our apartment and we must keep air fresheners and candles lit at all times. Overall, rent is WAY overpriced for amount of problems this complex has. Do yourself a huge favor a sign a lease somewhere else.

This place is terrible! Please stay away and don’t sign any paperwork. They lie to your face at all times and try to rob all of your hard earned money. They also stick their noses where it doesn’t belong and try to pry into your private life. PLEASE for the love of GOD stay away!
