Progressive Field

Progressive Field was on my MLB bucket list for a good while. (I call beautiful PNC Park home!) I was happy I had the opportunity to visit. My night was topped off with a surprise last second win by the Indians over the Angels. (Although, I didn’t so much care who won, as I am a Pirates fan, and just went for the experience.) :)
The field is located right in the heart of beautiful Cleveland. All the employees were very friendly, for the most part.
Before my trip to Cleveland, I planned a birthday scoreboard surprise message for my friend as his birthday was that weekend that we were in Cleveland. Everyone in fan services was simply wonderful to work with. The scoreboard message was also quite affordable and they sent me a 5×7 photo of my scoreboard message in the mail just a week after the game. They also sent me a digital copy of the photo too, which I really appreciated.
All in all, I had a wonderful experience at Progressive Field, and I hope to return one day.

Very nice field. I got great tickets 9 rows up from the bullpen for $ 9. I enjoyed a great evening for a game and all of the fans were very friendly. Very nice updates to the stadium as well.

Love the new remodel of the stadium, addition of the The Corner bar! $ 13 ticket + your first drink free — makes for a fun atmosphere!

The updates to the stadium are pretty awesome! Mainly I’m speaking about their food and drink area because that’s what I come here to do!
Shout out to the beer wall for making me so happy. What is a beer wall you ask? Well, you pay $ 15 or $ 30 for a sampling of around 10 – 12 different local beers. You get to help yourself and sample the beers or pour a full glass. You’ll spot Great Lakes and Fat Heads, as well as some other delicious discoveries.
I’ve tried some of the new food stands too, all being local choices as well. I really enjoyed the Din-​O-​Mite burger. Not so much the Melt stand. If you’ve ever been to the Melt restaurant you know how gloriously loaded theses sammies are. The ones here are meager at best, plus you only get half a sandwich and some bagged potato chips. For close to $ 10, I’d opt to go elsewhere to keep the Melt experience to the actual resto.
Pretty cool bar area and beer selections too. Considering they’re trying to sell cheaper tickets to hang out around the bar, minus an actual seat to the game, I’d say that a winning combo.
Oh yeah, baseball is played here too…

A much nicer park than I was thinking it would be going into it. I really like that you can walk fully around the park, giving you access to every angle of the park. It was really well maintained too, from the field to the corridors. The view of downtown in the background adds a nice scenic element as well.
I walked around and watched the game from three different areas: the third base line, behind homeplate on the top balcony, and The Corner bar area along the first base line. The upper balcony provided the best view but the Corner bar was my favorite part… great craft beer options with a nice view. Just keep an eye out for incoming balls, in three innings standing there we had two head our way.
The only star I’m dropping from the rating is because of stupid ass Flo. I understand this is Progressive Field, and for some asinine reason Flo is the spokesperson for them, but having her face plastered all over the stadium annoyed the shit out of me. Even broadcasting her voice between innings about this and that… no thank you.
Lose Flo, get the fifth star.

I am not from Cleveland, but I was, and have always been impressed with Progressive Field (or The Jake as I grew up knowing it.) The ticket selection and prices were very reasonable. If you do not need a seat, there is plenty of standing room by The Corner Bar. They have seats, couches and a fire pit, as well as the rings of standing room. We had seats behind home plate; the view was good, the seats were spacious and everything was clean. The bathrooms were well maintained and clean. The food and drink selection was good as well. Everyone that worked there was very nice and helpful. Based on the schedule I saw, they always have something going on. My son was a fan of the Hot Dog races (and they reminded me of the Pierogi Races at PNC.). Parking is a non issue (granted it was not a sold out game.) If you are familiar with Cleveland at all; you can also take the Blue or Green RTA to Tower City and walk over. All in all, we had a great time!

Where do I start!?! Great staff at the gates to greet us (security could have smiled a little more). Are seating location was clean and the food was great. We are the slider dogs from the right field district and the kids LOVED it! Not a bad price for 3 hot dogs. My daughter loves the kids club house and I wasn’t so sure with so many fans, but there was no line for waivers and she was able to play with no hassle. The Corner bar staff was friendly and moved quickly. Great time at PF!

Progressive Field — home of Cleveland Indians baseball: August 7, 2015 … Round 10 of our see-​them-​all adventure. Nice venue for baseball in a recently updated 1994 park … Progressive Field has a 360 degree walk-​around level. Great visit — they had a stunning rock n’ roll fireworks display after the game — would visit again.
Cleanliness: very clean; bathrooms, eating areas, everything
Size: seats just over 43,000 in a big roomy park
Food selection: tons of choices (i.e. a loaded pierogi sandwich), average prices … we visited on $ 1 dog/​$ 2 beer night — usually $ 4 dogs/​$ 7.75 and $ 4.75 beers and up
Ticket prices: average prices, smaller market here but great location in a trying-​to-​rebound rustbelt city
Ease of parking: easy in surrounding parking lots… but you have to negotiate downtown traffic
Safety around park: parking lots and ballpark very safe
Fans: festive in-​town park … employees plentiful and friendly/​helpful … need to stop peeps from moving to better seats after 7^th inning stretch
Access to public transportation: excellent … rapid transit through downtown Cleveland and lots of bus options
Access by driving: just off I-​90 and access also from I-​71 and I-​77
Nostalgia factor: some, but uneven … only one 3^rd place finish between 1960 and 1993, but then the team had 455 consecutive sellouts by 2001. Drummer in center field since 1973 is mostly annoying.
Location: on edge of downtown Cleveland next to Quicken Loans Arena where NBA Cavaliers play … NFL Cleveland Browns located one mile north
Exit from park: easy… lots of exits from parking lots, and lots of exits for walkers
Stuff to do in surrounding area: surrounding area has built up with dozens of pubs to take care of MLB and NBA crowds
Other: you enter at essentially center field and see across the field to home plate; very nice Jumbotron in left field … no tailgating

Progressive Field aka Jacob’s Field as it will forever be in my mind is a lovely ball park. I’m not a huge sports person, but I always have a good time when I go to an Indian’s game at the Jake.
What’s not to love? We have STADIUM MUSTARTD! The only ball park that I know of that serves this stuff! If you haven’t tried it, you need to get to a game & put it on your dog of choice! Dollar dog night is a favorite in my house. The Jake now offers food /​drink selection for you foodies who don’t come to the game to watch, but to chow-​down (myself included). You can get a melt sandwich, a Great Lakes Brewery beer, and Sweet Moses ice cream. Why wouldn’t you want to come for some entertainment and food?
I don’t really think there’s a bad seat in the place either. Not the largest ball park I’ve been to, but I don’t mind as long as I can see. Sitting in the bleachers can be fun, especially because the «tom-​tom» drummer sits there and adds some fun atmosphere to the event.
Take the kids, take your pals, and head over to the Jake. You’re bound to have some fun in the ballpark and definitively some good eats!

I don’t think I’ve ever been disappointed by The Jake (Do I have to call it Progressive Field?). I mean, it’s a ballpark so things are ridiculously priced — get your peanuts and water before you come in, just don’t open it – but my overall experience is wonderful and fun every time. I’ve loved all the new updates, it just adds to the experience! You know we’ll always be back!

Made it to Progressive Field to watch my beloved Cubs play the Tribe, and we brought our 3 rugrats with. Love the park’s layout. Bull pens in the outfield and lots of food choices… can’t ask for much more, other than an affordable ticket… and BINGO, they gots that! For $ 244ish, we got 5 tickets and parking for the game… at Wrigley, that same money can buy all 5 tickets, but they’re upper deck and it doesn’t cover parking. Wth? Yeah, we’re in!
Biggest bonus? The 3^rd floor and the FREE kids clubhouse activities fory little ones! Both my 6 yr old and my 11 yr old found stuff to keep them busy up there, during a rain delay.
So happy to ha e beem there for a game and thrilled at the way they entertained my kids!

I always make a point to visit the stadium every time I am in Cleveland, rather there is a game or not! On game days I enjoy the crowd the newly renovated bar and all of the food stands throughout the ballpark. On non game days I try to drop in for lunch in the Terrace Club. I guess my review is a little bias since I grew up in Cleveland, working at the ball park as a teen and attending games when ever I can but Progressive Field (or Jacobs Field as us natives know it) will always feel like home. Ive sat in almost every section in the park and haven’t had a bad seat yet! I do love the function on their website where you can see what your view from the seats would look like. I have always encountered very enthusiastic, helpful employees and even when the Indians loose I still have a great experience!
On my most recent visit I was able to see all the cool new renovations they’ve done and was able to enjoy a game of over sized connect four while watching the game which was a huge plus! I also stopped and watched the live Fox Sports broadcast which was a huge treat even though i dont really watch fox sports. I would have to recommend stopping by a game to anyone while they are in town!

We were doing a three baseball park tour over the Memorial Day weekend in which we hit Pittsburg, Cleveland, then Cincinnati then flew home on Memorial Day to Denver. This park is a great place to see a game and the concessions are priced really affordable. The staff was friendly and the crowds are civil. This was a great place to see a game and we may come back some day if the Rockies are there for the World Series.

I love a ballpark with some history and a love for the game, even if it’s been renamed by corporate America. Jacobs Field is just such a place.
I was in Cleveland with a friend for the weekend and got us some seats in the upper deck. Cheap, yes. But still a great view among great fans. Thank goodness I did my research and picked seats in the shade. It was a hot and humid Sunday afternoon in July so after a few innings we decided to wander around and see what Jacobs Field had to offer.
As we made our way down to the main level, I found the souvenir cup stand and my friend wandered off to find a bathroom. As she met me back at the concession stand, a kindly Indians fan came up to us and asked if it was just the two of us. He had purchased amazing seats behind the dugout but his kids didn’t seem to care. So he offered us his seats for the rest of the game. We gladly took them off his hands and enjoyed the remainder of the game from 3 rows behind the Indians dugout. We had a grand time being so close to the game and the cheering hot dogs. And I walked away with a stack of souvenir cups to hand out to all my friends.
I deducted one star only because the place is so massive. Bigger isn’t always better and when it comes to MLB parks, I prefer mine to be a bit more cozy. But that’s not enought stop me from returning.

No complaints here except that I never realized how mean Canadians can be. Kickin Indain butt and still diggin in with the trash talk in the 8^th inning. Oh well, great park for kids and a Cleveland loss in a Minnesota win… right? Good beer, great food as well as the trashy stuff

I’ve always thought The Jake (or Progressive Field I guess, ugh) was a nice stadium but these renovations really reflect how much Cleveland is moving up.
Overall, seating is great from every location and it’s cheap. I always go for the $ 10 bleacher seats; it’s a younger crowd and the environment is more fun, in my opinion. On firework nights, I go for upper reserved. You won’t have to move after the game and you get a great view of the show.
The old bar in the District section has been removed to make way for the new gates and an open standing area. They’ve added the Corner Bar in its place and it is beautiful for a stadium bar. They somehow incorporated a real bar that I would probably frequent in the middle of the stadium; detailed hardwood furnishing with a good selection of beers and TVS. Unfortunately, you can’t see the field from inside but for $ 13 a ticket you get a free $ 9 beer. So you can just walk out on the deck and watch the game for a couple of bucks if hanging out at the bar always interested you more than sitting in your actual seats, anyways.
The new food courts are a great addition; the design for each city area (Tremont, OHC, etc.) is solid and definitely has the modern Cleveland vibe to it. It seems that Melt is the best bang for your buck food wise (ahem, double price tacos, Barrio? I see what you’re doing.) but they all seemed pretty reasonable.
Overall the stadium modifications were greatly executed and I’m thoroughly impressed.
The only set back we have now is our jumbotron. I’m sure it’s a very pricey update but I find the jumbotron to be a staple for a great stadium vs a worn-​down one and some of the screen blocks were out completely.

Went for the «pre home opener» tonight, which was basically an invitation only event where each food place offered samples and drinks were half price!
It was SO fun. The new bar is so awesome, beer was good. Each food place was excellent and I loved being able to try a little something from each place!
Overall it was a fun experience and I cannot wait to go to a game this summer when the stadium is full of Cleveland fans!

Although the stadium is older by MLB standards, it is still a great place to see a game. There doesn’t seem to be a bad seat in the house.
I visit Cleveland on business and catching a game is a great way to spend an evening. Bleacher seats were as cheap as $ 7 on StubHub.
We sat in the Club section which was great. Our seats were spacious and right on the first base line. You feel like you’re almost on the field. The Club Level Lounge offered an air conditioned location to grab a beer and enjoy some food. All food is included in the price of your Club Level ticket and it’s pretty good, Burgers made to order, hot dogs & sausages as well as fancier food like pork tenderloin, roasted potato’s, salad, etc. Food in the concourse is also included in the ticket price. Nacho’s pizza, hot pretzels, peanuts, ice cream, soft drinks… a great selection.
The Indians aren’t that good this year, but catching a game is still a treat.

I am trying my absolute best to be as unbiased as possible here. I am a die-​hard Indians fan, so I had to turn my objectivity up to 11 for this one.
As with many other stadiums in this part of the rankings: it’s the tale of two venues. The view from your seats is one of the best in baseball, IMO. The trees in centerfield are very unique to Cleveland, as you can always tell where the game is being played, even during close up shots on the pitcher’s face.
While the video board isn’t centered, it’s enormous. The Indians do a great job with the content on this board, which is sadly not the case for a large number of teams.
What needs a massive amount of work are the concourses here. In the mid 90’s, they were trendy and cool, but they haven’t been touched much since then. Barren concrete dominates here. Unfortunately this park’s concourses are probably bottom 5. Hopefully the upcoming renovations will help to spruce these up.
Heritage Park in center field is an area meant to honor the Indians’ all-​time greats. I don’t think the area turned out as well as the blueprints had intended. The boring factor is about a 9/​10, and that’s coming from an Indians fan. I just don’t think it’s very visually impressive or interesting looking. Sadly, this is a newer addition to the park, so it’s probably not going to be updated anytime soon.
I’m very interested to head back to this park soon post-​renovations that are happening after the 2014 season. As it stands now, this park was absolutely a top 5 venue in the 90’s, and now has fallen back to the middle of the pack over time.

Take me out to an Indians game in Clelevand! It ROCKS!
As everyone else said this stadium is one of the older «new» stadiums, but don’t let that cloud the beauty of this place!
The skyline setting is beautiful! I guess it holds around 40k, but they don’t sell tickets in certain areas unless it’s a play off game. This park has energy, I was at Petco this year and they had more Twins fans (me being one) vs Pades fans. It’s nice to see Indian fans represent!
We had tickets for the club level because of a few things… Weather (it did get rained out so good choice), access to bars (which is key for me), usually better food, and the biggest thing short lines to a clean bathroom!
I would recommend the club level for the value! Yes, I said value at a ball park!!! The club level seats which were very reasonable compared to club level in other cities. BUT here the ticket price include FREE food! That is NOT a typo… Free food! The drinks were also pretty reasonable.
There are lots of spots to eat and drink. During the first rain delay we went to the Terrace club. Nice view of the field, a nice bar, and good food. We might of stayed thru the 2^nd, 3^rd, and 4^th rain delay… So when they stop serving in the 7^th… Ya that just never end happened! Things get a bit blurry from there…
There is a nice selection of merchandise… which again… I thought there were some good buys to be found!
Great bars and restaurants surround the stadium so you have place to go before and after.
Well done Cleveland!
