Love this place. My first time being here and I can’t wait to go back. I love the atmosphere, it reminds me of the diners I used to go to as a kid. They do breakfast and lunch here so they keep weird hours. Their selection of burgers is awesome taking up a full page with 3 columns and each one is different. Also got the waffle fries on the side and I think if found a new favorite fry. Hopefully going back next weekend.

My husband & I ate at Sunnyside Grill on Sunday May 28th for the first time. We were very excited at finding a new place as we love to frequent the«mom & pop» restaurants instead of chains. We ordered & when the food came out I was amazed at how much food was there. We could have shared breakfast. The eggs were cooked to perfection & the bacon was just like I like it. There was a delicious looking mound of home fried potatoes & when I took a bite of them that is where the joy of this place went sideways. They tasted sour. I tried a bite without ketchup thinking it was maybe the ketchup that was bad but it wasn’t. I thought maybe my taste buds were just off that day so I never said a word. Then my husband took a big bite of his & said these potatoes don’t taste right. They taste sour. We told our waitress & her solution was to take $ 2.00 off our total bill. She said they boil the potatoes in advance & then fry them on the grill with butter. Either they left the potatoes in the water until the water went bad or the butter was rancid. I don’t know but I do know the owner, manager nor the chef came to our table to ask about them or to apologize. It was our first and last trip to this restaurant.

Good old greasy spoon. Enjoyed their never frozen half pound Angus southwest burger. It was really good. The onion rings on it were amazing. Food portions are huge. Service was very friendly and attentive. Prices were average for a meal out.($ 38 for two including tip.) We will visit again. Next time I might try breakfast.

Had lunch here last week and it was quite pleasant. Ordered the gyro and waffle fries and they were quite tasty. Sauce was excellent too. Waitress was pleasant and the other people all happy. Check out this west side local gem.

Great old fashioned«*greasy spoon» restaurant tucked away in Taylor Creek(just east of Maimitown) Food is simple burgers, double deckers and breakfast options. Service is very good and people are very friendly… Meal portions are unbelievable, so bring your appetite… Boxes are needed to take out what you cannot finish… Mine today was the ham&cheese double Decker. It is so tall I could not get my hand awoind it… So thick, it was difficult to cut up… So I had to result eating the side out It is worth the trip for that breakfast or lunch… Hours are until 3pm closed on Monday

This place is nothing fancy but you get service with a smile and all the standard breakfast and lunch plates you’d expect at a mom and pop style diner. Plenty of food for extremely reasonable prices.

Do not have a delivery order sent to your home or business. Work at Sur Seal on Wesselman rd. Maybe 8 to 10 minute drive from sunnyside grill. We ordered 3 times after 6:30 each time, spending over 45.00 each time. Food is cold, takes 1 ½ hours to deliver, never saying im sorry or explaining why they where so late. Each time giving a tip to the driver. We have 200 plus people that work here and will never have a delivery sent to us again. Best way to enjoy this food, go to sunnyside and eat in.

Holy Cow. What a find. I’m constantly on the search for a good ol’ diner and this joint fits the bill. Nothing fancy just good burgers and breakfast anytime. And giant portions. I got the breakfast burger(for lunch) and it was enough for 2 meals. I took half home. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. I also liked the pictures on the wall of cars from the nearby dirt track. I’ll be back.

If you are looking for a HOT, fresh, and BIG burger, look no further than the Sunnyside Grill. When I say hot, I mean HOT. The first bite almost burned my mouth. Steam could be seen pouring out of my first bite. Specialty burgers are composed of whopping 12oz. patties. The patties looked to be hand formed. The menu says that the beef is never frozen. I ordered the Bourbon Burger. The sweet bourbon glaze went well with the two slices of tangy Swiss cheese. The grilled red onions, and mushrooms rounded out the burger nicely. I thought I took a picture. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to be on my phone. My husband had The Cardinal. That is the burger picture I posted. His was also piping hot. He seemed to really enjoy it. All specialty burgers come with a side of potato chips. The produce on my daughter’s kids burger looked crisp, and fresh. Her meal came with a side of fries. I tried one, and they were decent. I would be interested in trying other items on the menu. If you are going during peak hours, except to wait a while for your food. If on a lunch break, you may want to call in a To-go order. It is a small kitchen. They seemed to be working hard to get the food out as quickly as possible, while still maintaining quality. Our waitress apologized a couple of times for the wait. We really appreciated the gesture. Her thoughtfulness made us feel appreciated as customers. Don’t forget to check for the specials listed up front. There are both lunch and dinner specials listed.

Food was very good with huge helpings. The waitress however was rude. To make things worse we found a hair in our food and she was very unprofessional about it. I really wanted to like this place since it’s a family restaurant, but I’m not sure if we would go back.

Love this place, great family dining atmosphere, amazing breakfast, & the best double-deckers on the west side My go-toos are the GLT with cheese, or the smelvin

Just ordered from here for the first time. It definitely won’t be the last. If you ever need some fantastic food in ridiculously large amounts, this place rocks. We ordered the Old Man’s Diaper and Breakfast Burger and they were both huge! They both tasted great and came in the time frame promised. Highly recommended.

Great diner. Huge delicious portions for breakfast and lunch. Just check out the pictures others have posted to get an idea of how big the sandwiches are. Nice mix of offerings and some big interesting food combos — e.g. burgers and omelettes with lots of extra meat options, etc.

The place is known locally for its large Man vs food style burgers and funny/interesting names. The food portions here are significant for the price paid. I was not impressed with their breakfast honestly, but it was good. I would go here if you were in the mood for food such as burger and fries and or chili.

Great diner! A large, I mean a LARGE amount of food for the price. Great selection of burgers, sandwiches stacked high and good looking breakfast food. We had fun looking at all the meals being served around us. The Smellvine was delicious!(Home fry bed with egg and meat stacked over it with a hefty amount of cheese to top it off!) The smaller portion was the perfect amount. This is a diner, so it’s quick service and nothing fancy but GREAT food! Definitely a place I’ll be back to!

Loves this Place. We went on Father’s Day and it was stacked. The staff was friendly even with the onslaught of hungry fathers, so that was a big plus. We were a party of 9 and most of us got some sort of breakfast platters. Typical cheap diner prices, lots of food for the money. Delicious an exactly as expected. I think it would be even better on a less crowded day. Though we didn’t get lunch, some people were having sandwiches around us and they were gigantic! Stacked with lots of meat – good stuff I would definitely recommend this place!

This place is really good for Burgers. The Breakfast is good. The Burgers remind of something off Man Vs. Food. They are ½ lb &HUGE& I can never finish the whole thing. You will need a box but you will leave full & happy :) Only thing I don’t like is they won’t wait on me if I sit at the booths outside. Said I gotta order it To Go & then go sit out there. Dumbest thing I ever heard! But good food ;)

I stopped into Sunnyside grill with my mom and son on a Sunday afternoon and the place was crowded as usual. We found a booth and we were waited on after about 5 minutes which wasn’t too bad of a wait considering the amount of people in the restaurant. The restaurant is your average diner, nothing special to speak of, but the food is good and the portions are large. For the price you can’t go wrong. I’ve been here several times and the only thing that can be inconsistent is the wait staff. Sometimes the service is great and other times I’m waiting 10 minutes to get the next refill of my coffee. On this occasion though, the service was very good. They ran out of hotcakes so my son decided on the French toast kid’s meal. It was good and he was happy which made me happy because it only cost me $ 5 and it came with a drink too. My mom and I ordered breakfast and it came out hot and well cooked. Ordered my eggs over medium and that was exactly what I received. Not always the case with eggs. The goetta was good as was the sausage I tried. Overall I find the Sunnyside grill to be a good local alternative to a place like Bob Evan’s or Perkins. I would prefer to support the local owners so I’d recommend a visit if you are ever on the west side of Cincinnati. – updating my review since I returned again today. I ordered the small version of the Smelvin and it was really good. Probably as good a hangover cure as I’ve seen in this area! Potatoes, ham, sausage, goetta and cheese all mixed up with onion. The small could feed two people. Good stuff and good service. Raised my rating up to 4 stars!
