Miss NJ Diners, I know this is not the king of diners but they do have all teh necessary components-great breakfast, Taylor Ham and Cheese, and the desserts in the case. We ate here a couple times on our pass through Clifton and it was a decent diner with decent service and prices. I will not compare it to the Jefferson Diner, which is my fave, This is a decent place to fill your diner needs and get a gyro…

Hungover We hit the famous Tick Tock coming back from a long weekend in Joy-Zee. Sporting a rough hangover, we ordered a bunch of diner grease favorites. Grilled cheese, mashed potatoes, and a fried chicken sandwich. All of the items were decent and helped fight the splitting headache. Our waitress was a bit surly but that is what you want when go to an old school diner cart. The diner itself has that traditional setup with the long bar seating with the stainless steel swiveling seats. The Tick Tock plays the role well and helped cure our hangover. No complaints. Thanks

Standard diner food. Nothing amazing but nothing horrible, either. I came here on a packed Saturday with three friends and our orders reached our table in no time at all! Perfect if you’re on the way to something and don’t want to worry about being held up because you chose to stop somewhere for dinner. Would I rate them four stars in comparison to a high-end foodie spot? No. But for a diner that cranked it out on a busy Saturday? Absolutely.

So I’ve come here a few times now. Once for bfast, once for dessert and once for lunch. I’m not sure it’s worth all the hype and the sometimes erratic waits(if you’re lucky, none… sometimes 10 min. and up). Honestly… it’s diner food. Not great. Not horrible.

HORRIBLE!!! Usually go to Allwood diner, and since they started giving me burnt toast lately, I tried tick tick with my family. They gave my 8 year old a medium hamburger, my husband got a huge salad that could feed an entire third world nation but it was the most disgusting salad and dressing. Not to mention my ham omelette was tasteless and horrible. Where can I find a decent diner now. This place is as horrible as the décor.

Have been here many times, over the years, and have always enjoyed it for what it is: a classic Jersey diner. Amazing pastry and cake selection. Cocktails(of course!) and beer if you so desire. And of course — diner food! Disco fries, Pizza burgers, pancakes! Awesome pickles and cole slaw! Prices are a tad steep since their food channel fame, but very worth it.

Tick-Tock Diner — savior of many late night meals. It’s your typical diner but with pizazz. When you had a few alcoholic beverages in ya, everything tastes gourmet. The bonus is no ill effects the next day. Mozz sticks are a good starter. Cheeseburger deluxe with disco fries are a staple! You can’t veer from this. One of the best disco fries around. I hadn’t been here in ages until recently. Sober the food tastes a tad off. Don’t get me wrong it’s good but not great. Good breakfast sandwiches too. When you go to this diner, don’t order non-diner items. I mean who orders pasta at a diner? Veal? Seafood… oh god. My philosophy is get what they specialize in and you will be happy. Prices have gone up since the glory days of the 90’s and early 2000’s. Service is hit or miss… but more hit. ENJOY!

Strong service, fake food. Lauren gives her clients attentive service with a hit of freshness that you expect from the best greasy spoon diners. Tick-Tock Diner’s food, however, is anything but fresh. Route 3 meal’s only«fresh» ingredients on the plate were unseasoned eggs. All else was clearly store bought, flash frozen, and reheated to order. That being said, I appreciated that the food came out hot. I also greatly appreciated the cook’s humorous attempt to make the best of it by placing grill marks on the slab of store bought ham. A FOREFFORT! ^_^ Come here for fast, convenience or if you love the taste of greasy salt that lasts all day. :)

Quickly seated on New Year’s Eve at a booth seat. The server was with us very quickly with waters, but it took awhile for her to come back and take our orders. Ordered food and drinks and about 20 mins later we received our food. The food was tasty, pretty standard diner food. I think our poor waitress must have been run off her feet cause she ended up pouring coffee into my tea mug and then it took ages for the bill to come. Overall I enjoyed the food, but maybe they could have had a bit more staff that day.

Always got the disco fries after going out. It’s open all the time so perfect midnight munchies spot! Disco fries are a slobbering bunch of goodness, just like most of the customers around 2am. I mean that in the most sincere way.

Solid dinner experience. Location is great off the highway. Plenty of parking and seating. Nothing standing out on the menu. Sat at the counter and got some breakfast. No complaints. Waitress was a doll.

I wish I can give it zero stars. When our food came we asked for plastic utensils as we always do for hygienic purposes .The waitress said its against the law and left to get the manager. He came over and said sorry but he can’t help us. The food was sitting on the table and he just stood there and shrugged at us. We stood up and left and he didn’t have a care in the world. Rude and beyond crazy that you would waste food and have customers walk out of your restaurant over two pieces of plastic.

Great menu, quality Jersey décor, good variety, super fast, and clean — but not the best wait staff compared to other Dirty Jersey Diners Pros: 1) Breakfast menu has some real gems on it, like Nutella french toast for the ladies, or amazing breakfast sausage(don’t think about the calories or how it is made, just enjoy) 2) The menu is massive, like any diner, but it has some unique items and some really good items you don’t see on diner menus 3) It is clean, they do a good job at cleaning up tables, floors, bathrooms, etc. which is really appreciated 4) Fast as hell! You order, and bam, you got food. 5) Kitschy décor, but in a good way 6) Adequate parking, easy to get to Cons: 1) Waitstaff isn’t great, we had to beg one of the other waiters to get us a water refill. We got our food, and we did not get checked on, ever. We had to literally grab our waitress to get our check, and she simply dropped it and bailed. No thank you, no nothing. It has happened like that before, it is hit or miss. Maybe it is just me, but diners have to have great waitstaff, or else the whole experience goes way down. 2) Again on the service, we asked for a side of Nutella, and they brought it out, but they didn’t tell us they would charge us like $ 1.85 for a little tiny scoop(the entire jar costs like $ 4). At least tell me in advance to expect an up-charge, don’t surprise me when I am at the cash register, or worse, hope I don’t notice. I would simply say«okay, thanks, please bring it to us anyway» and then I wouldn’t be upset at the end of my meal when I am walking away. BEWARE! Tip to the consumer: Ask for bigger waters, not the little tiny ones the bus boys drop down, and use a straw to avoid the heavily used water glasses as much as possible. Tip to the restaurant: Invest in some waitstaff training, and always, always follow up after you have some bus boy or food runner bring us food — check for needed condiments, drop some extra napkins, refill waters or drinks(basics).

This diner is very over priced and my order is never right. I don’t know how they get away charging as much as they do. My food is never correct there is always a wait, and the prices are rediculous. I always pass this diner to go to the Allwood Diner. This pace is busy because it is well know and was on TV. Trust me its not worth it at all!

I grew up with the tock tock diner. For any north jersey girl, the disco fries are the perfect ending after a night full of cocktails. The feeling you have the next morning after realizing that you shoved the whole dish in ur face in under 10 minutes is another story. Or maybe that’s just me… Rarely do you have to wait long to get seated here no matter what time you come. Service is usually decent. The food as a whole is good diner food. They have a wide variety of omelettes that are a good go to breakfast option. Prices here aren’t anything crazy in my opinion but I guess I’m used to the pricier than average cost of living in north jersey. Tick tock is a must visit for those times that you’re craving some good grease. It’s clean, it’s quick, and it’s gluttonous. My number one recommendation would of course be the disco fries. Cheese for days and just enough gravy. Do it.

So I grew up always going to Tick Tock. I’ve never been the biggest fan of this diner because they are a tad over priced due to their popularity among the New York city crowd — people entering or leaving. It always seems they’re featured on some news and/or food show these days. BUT I came here one night, post bar, and to my surprise I had a really yummy«meal». I ordered the cobb salad and I must say I was thoroughly impressed with the size and overall taste. Definitely ordering salads more often from here. It really is a CLASSIC diner so any out of towners should check it out, preferably at 3 in the morning like a true New Jerseyan.

Not a bad diner. It was steadily busy for a Saturday morning but not a mad house. Food was pretty good. Hit the spot. Pancakes were cooked perfectly — slightly crispy around the edges and buttery soft inside — so I was happy. Taylor ham was particularly tasty. Not sure where they get it from but it tasted way better than what other diners serve. Overall it was a little pricey — $ 3.75 for a glass of OJ — so that was a little depressing. No need for non alcoholic beverages to be that expensive IMHO.

Came here for lunch with a decent size group. We all got salads which were great! Service was excellent which is why we always love coming back here. The tick toc is a well known nj diner for a reason. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner always great! I had their buffalo chicken salad which was perfect. My friends had the oriental chicken salad and the Cobb salad. No complaints from anyone. Looking forward to going back again!
