Your average diner with a wide selection. Came here for breakfast with my husband. We were greeted & seated fairly quickly. The server was a bit slow and didn’t know the menu well, asked me what type of toast I would like in case my selection brought it(it didn’t). My husband ordered an omelette which was a good sized portion. I opted for the buttermilk pancakes with eggs. Loved the sausage that came with it but the pancakes tasted like the boxed type that you buy from the supermarket. Would give this another try since its location is so convenient but definitely staying away from the pancakes.

NJ is known for its diners but Nutley Diner is one of the best, if not, THE best. Quality of food is great. Very reasonable prices. Staff is friendly. Food comes out quick, no matter how busy. Open 24⁄7. Nothing really bad I can say about this place.

Good reliable food. Just about the only place open last night during the blizzard. Last night hubby had bagels and lox with cream cheese, he said it was very good. I got a patty melt and it was excellent. cooked rare just the way I Iike it with lots of cheese and onions and nicely grilled rye bread. This morning hubby had a goat cheese omelet with spinach, tomatoes, onions and home fries. He liked it very much. I got the cheese blintzes with warm blueberry compote and sour cream. Yummy delicious comfort food. The service here is very good. We are always greeted warmly and the servers are always attentive and helpful. And the diner is open 24⁄7. Can’t beat that.

This is what you would expect from any diner. I don’t think the quality of the food is any better than it was 10 years ago when I ate here but still a good diner in the area. The service is also pretty good.

Went for the first time — the Italian omlette had no taste and the coffee tasted like water and to make the matters worst the Manager and some other lady at the front desk stared at me the whole time. They were nasty and the food was nasty. Bad management, bad ambiance and bad food does not make a good experience.

Where have I been the last 2 – 3 years??? Corned beef hash, Belgian waffles, coffee and strawberry cheesecake… Yes please! Breakfast and Cheesecake at Nutley diner might be our new thing! A few weekends ago we were in search for some corned beef hash and stumbled upon this diner! Once I saw my homie Neal’s review, I knew we were all set and good to go! The diner is in the«busy» area of Nutley on Centre street. They have their own private parking lot and I suggest to avoid wait times go a little early or a little late around people’s main dining times. The food was great! The portions were on point! The service was awesome and the price was banging! The décor is pretty cool too! You must try the strawberry cheesecake, it fluffy creamy and just enough of sweet! We can’t to go back and try the burgers and disco fries! Enjoy folks…

Can’t get any better than this 24⁄7 place at the edge of downtown Nutley. I used to be walking distance from here and a bunch of us got a breakfast of champions before going to one of those electronic dance ragers. Needless to say, that meal(and… other things) kept us going till midnight. I had the eggs florentine benedict and it was hard to decide whether that was better or the side of home fries. I’ve also tried some of the burgers. Prices are amazing, staff happy, plenty of room and parking. Don’t get lost in the 10+ page menu.

The service is good. The place is clean. The servers are very nice. But the mangers attitude is bad. I used to eat here every Sunday for breakfast. But the manager doesn’t ever smile and seems mean. Thanks but I’ll go somewhere else on Sundays with my family.

The food is very good and has a good portion. Although, the service could be better but it’s alright. The prices are somewhat high. Good overall. The chicken fingers and shakes are AMAZING

Was there ten minutes ago. Ordered a side of Taylor ham. They brought out canadian bacon. When I brought it to the waitresses attention she said«yeah our Taylor ham is just like that.» Weird because we go there all of the time. Out of 5 pieces given, I ate a bite of one. So maybe the cook grabbed the wrong meat. But atleast make good and take it off the bill… or bring actual Taylor ham… Also their home fries are mush. But they make for good mashed potatoes.

Service was great. Our waitress was very attentive and sweet. She my roughy my son his jello just as he requested: with whipped cream and two cherries. The bus person even came over and was making animal noises to mess with the kids. The food is mediocre at best. My daughter’s mac and cheese was flavorless and extremely paste-like. Her crab cakes were good, but not necessarily because they were packed full of crab. My lobster bisque tasted of low tide and was filled with lame imitation crab meat. They served a nice little complementary bean salad with the salad/soup that I ate once I pawned off my bisque to my son(kids eat anything). My Cape May salad(with shrimp, bacon, and blue cheese) was pretty good. My husband’s beefsteak was okay, but bizarrely coated in barbecue sauce. Overall, for a Jersey diner… I was not impressed. Will I be back? Probably, but only as a matter of convenience.

I love how idiots criticize a diner when they order a steak or seafood dish. It’s a NJDINER! You don’t order those things at a diner! Now for my review. The Nutley Diner makes good breakfast. Their coffee is good and their service is fast. Their lunch and dinner menu is pretty good too. The ONE thing they need work on is picking up dishes when your done eating. I’ve sat at the counter numerous times and it took them forever to take my dish away. It’s really annoying to have it not picked up when you have a newspaper or magazine to read

Your typical diner food. A little pricey for a diner but the service is excellent. I have eaten here many times and have never experienced a wait even on a weekend morning or a Friday for dinner. Their breakfasts are excellent as are their sandwiches. They use these very thick buns for their burgers which is my only complaint. Desserts are great and so are their shakes!

This diner is slowly becoming one of my local favorites. It has what you want in a NJ diner, but they do it slightly better than the average diner — food is prepared well, large portions, good selection, welcoming service and open 24 hours a day. It’s also always calm inside. Nobody yelling. I don’t hear the staff’s nor the other customers’ conversations too much. This is especially good after a night out. I just want to eat my corned beef hash/omelette/burger in peace.

Uninspired nonsense. Typical diner grub. The tuna salad platter was piled with potato salad and cole slaw. Way too much for one person to down in one sitting. Cajun shrimp po boy sandwich? Not good. Unseasoned, cornmeal breaded shrimp on a basic hero roll with lettuce, tomato, and Dijon mayo. The shrimp were flavorless… but the aioli was fine. Service was ok, but seemed like a new hire. A nice demeanor though was appreciated. There’s plenty of these places around here. Go elsewhere.

The food here was okay but not amazing. The menu is large with a lot of choices. Portions are really large — we came for dinner and were given bread, soup/salad with an entrée, as well as an extra side dish for the table(that day, it was beets). I had a chocolate milkshake and the Shrimp Parmesan. The shrimp was good but the mozzarella cheese had formed into thick congealed blobs which I really don’t like. I had enough left over for the next night’s dinner. I should note that I got a marzipan horn pastry for the following morning’s breakfast and while it was good, it was VERY sticky and the plastic wrap was hard to separate from the pastry.
