Closed! We live in the area, just down the street, and this place is definitely not open, so don’t come out!

EXPENSIVE!!! Staff is super friendly and very helpful and frankly make the place. The décor is cold and bland. Tables small and wobbly. The steak shwarma with rice and drink came to just over $ 10.00. The steak itself was very, very, very dry and tough. The rice bland with little to no seasoning. The drink was small, in fact it was almost a childs size. Not sure I would go back again.

I have absolutely no complaints about this restaurant whatsoever. On the contrary, I have many good things to share. I’ve been there a few times and have ordered carry out a few times as well. In all instances the service was quick and friendly. I particularly love their fatoosh salad with lamb shwarma. The salad is crisp and bright. The dressing has the right balance of flavor and acidity. The warm cuts of seasoned lamb are just delightful. And to top it off, I think the price is very fair. The times I’ve done carry out the food order has been precise and well packaged for transport, with extra napkins, silverware, and even disposable plates upon request. Furthermore, their ambience is quite the treat, with all their furnishings, fabrics, middle eastern music, etc… it feels like I’m literally at a Palace somewhere by an oasis in the Middle East. I love this place and would strongly recommend it.

I just moved up to the area a few days ago and was in need of a good meal, and I’m so happy I stumbled in here! The restaurant is beautiful and has a lot of sofa-like seating. The staff was very friendly and attentive. He listened and was prompt in his service. We started with the hummus as an appetizer, and my goodness is it good. The consistancy is velvety and the flavor is bang on. The pita pockets come out hot and fresh, and the olive oil for drizzling is really tasty. Next we had the fattoush salad, one with lamb, and the other without, and the balance of the salads were perfect. The dressing was perfect without being too much or too little and the lamb was seasoned and cooked perfectly. We ended up ordering a few days later from here again for a group of friends and got the lentil soup, seasoned chicken and rice, plain chicken and rice, lamb and chicken fattoush, tabbouli, and hummus. Again, is was all seasoned perfectly, warm even by the time we got it home, and so very tasty. I’d recommend this place anytime!

Great choice for Middle Eastern cuisine! I have been wanting to try this place forever so I finally got the hubby to stop. When we got there the place was busy, a party of 100 going on. Busy yet we were treated as though we were the only ones there. With a smile and lots of attention. GOODSTART! Our waitress was great she was so friendly and explained because of the large party our food may take a bit longer than normal. We ordered the trio app which consisted of hommous, baba and tabouli all of were outstanding and the bread! OH i could have just crawled inside that bread basket of warm goodness! Our entrees were great! I got the hommous with lamp and my husband got zesty beef ghallaba(sp?). Both were cooked perfectly and we had enough food for 4 people the portions are huge! All in all our food and expierence here were great. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is the ladies room was very untidy and neglected. The entire place is so clean and tidy but the ladies room looked as if a stampeed just ran through. I’m a huge stickler when it comes to bathroom cleanliness. The bathroom wont stop us from going back though. I was very impressed with the food options and variety as well as our server.

Palm palace is the go to restaurant for my girlfriend and I. We always bring our son and the staff makes us feel nothing but part of their family. The atmosphere is always happy, and the servers are very competent and attentive. The owner always comes to our table, as well as others, and greets us and our child graciously. There are many great deals if you use the menu to your advantage. I prefer the pita-creation which comes with a sandwich, soup or salad, and rice or fries. With a drink you can walk out spending less than $ 10 per person, that is unless you can stay away from the incredible spicy hummus. Another thing to keep in mind is the great rewards card. I recently added up enough points to get a $ 50 gift card. The food is always prepared well and the pitas that are served to all tables are great as well. As to the tip that stated saiid was a poor server, I cannot disagree more. My girlfriend and I originally came back a second time because of how wonderful he was. On a side note, there was one time we did not have the best service that we are used to. We left a comment card that they provide at the beginning of each meal telling about our bad experience. The next time we came in, the owner came to our table and immediately started talking to us about it. He reassured us that he talked to that particular server and that he takes our feedback seriously. He told us that regulars like us deserve to have great service. I respected this very much and it shows how much this restaurant really cares.

Tried this place out on a whim and I was really glad we did. I am not an expert in medetraian food, but I do know what I like, and this place was really good. I really liked the garlic spread and the warm bread served. I had chicken kabobs with couscous and it was all very good. A huge portion too, so I was able to eat it again for lunch the next day! The interior is very nice and cozy. I can’t wait to head back here!

Went here yesterday with a friend. Neither of us had ever eaten here before, but since we were going to a play at the Macomb Center, we thought this would be a fun and convienent place to dine. We were seated very quickly, and Said, our waiter was on hand to bring drinks and answer our menu questions. Upon learning it was our first visit to Palm Palace, he recommended the Chef’s sampler plate as it had a variety of dishes to try. We ordered it and were pleasantly surprised at the amount of food placed on the table. There was a choice of soup or salad. I went with lentil soup, which was very good. My friend chose salad, which she enjoyed and I eyed jealously… it looked very good for a «house salad.» Also warm bread with garlic spread:) Next were the appetizers; hummous, tabbouli, baba ganoush, lamb grape leaves, vegetarian grape leaves, and falefel. Way more than we could eat and it was fun to try a little of everything. Our favorites were the hummous and the lamb grape leaves. The entrees included chicken shawarma, shish tawook, and shish kafta with almond rice and some grilled veggies. My favorite was the chicken shawarma… but it was all pretty tasty. We had plenty left over to take home… the waiter was very kind and boxed it all up for us. Now I have no idea how authentic the food was or how it compared to other/similar restaurants… I just know that I was well treated and I really enjoyed the food at Palm Palace. I would definitely go back another time!

I love this place… Every time I’m back in the Detroit area I make my way up to the Palm Palace. When La Shish closed I was at a loss for where I would get my fix of hummus, shwarma, lamb chops, etc, etc, etc. Tried a few places, but they always fell short… Then the Palm Palace, like a mirage on Hall rd., coaxed me in and since then all has been well again. Never had a back meal here, and I’ve been probably 15 times over the past few years.

This place changed my mind on felafels. Every falafel i have had previous literally left a bad taste in my mouth. The falafel here was flavorful and tasty. I could have just has them and been happy. Sandy was friendly and helpful and made our experience even better.

Nah, I’ll Pass. Nice staff, but they seemed confused. The food was average and it costs a little more then its worth. Hall Rd has many restaurants to offer and this one doesn’t make my list.

Aesthetically speaking, Palm Palace’s décor, menu layout, logo, and even their website are fantastic! Unfortunately, they didn’t spend the same amount of time producing quality, great tasting, flavorful food which is a key ingredient for any successful restaurant. The dishes we ordered were: Lentil Soup — Disappointing! Moroccan Soup — Just okay. Lamb Tejen — Could’ve been better! Couscous — Absolutely horrible!!! How can you go wrong with couscous, right? They did: / Chicken Ghallaba — I’ve had better! Garlic dip(complimentary) — Unless you’re trying to keep vampires, or people(for that matter) as far as possible, avoid this! Not that i don’t usually love this garlic/butter, but the intensity of their version was soooo extreme that even after brushing, scrubbing, listerining, & flossing, the garlic breathe was in full effect till the next day:( They need to work on a simplified menu where they can improve the quality of each of the dishes, which will have customers returning. Our unfortunate dining experience at Palm Palace will deter any future meal ventures here and to any of their other locations!

Can’t get any better than Palm Palace! The food was outstanding, the waitstaff including the hostess and the bus staff were as polite and attentive as could be. The ambiance… oh the restaurant is beautiful inside and the bathrooms are very very clean. I can’t wait to go back. We ordered the combo for two and had a little bit of almost everything they serve! I say a little bit but in reality the combo for two was more than enough food for 4! We had plenty of leftovers to take home for lunch for the next two days. The beef kafta was my favorite, the chicken shwarma was great, the falafels were amazing… loved the house salad… I could go on and on about the food. Go there and get some yourself!

Being a new fan to this type of food, I suppose Im not the best to leave a comment but I truly enjoyed myself! My girlfriend and I stopped there on a Friday night and had wonderful service who had many suggestions and offered substitutions(thanks Niki!) and the owner(I think?) stopped at our booth to say hello and welcome and to make sure everything was great. We ordered a little bit of everything… hommus. Baba ganoosh, tabooli, fatoosh, garlic sauce, pickles and pickled turnips, pita and baked kibbie. It was WONDERFUL!!! Our bill was let than $ 40! Dont let these reviews stop you from making your own opinion! Go check it out for yourselves!

Maybe I’m spoiled from working in Dearborn and being able to have delish Middle-Eastern food whenever I want. Or maybe this place just sucks. My mom lives on this side of town and loves the ghallaba, so we came here for an early dinner. I ordered hummus with chicken shwarma. Pretty standard and basic, right? Salad was huge and decent, but not as fresh as one would hope. Bread was undercooked and, well, pretty lackluster. The shwarma looked unappetizing, unlike any shwarma I’ve had before — it was gray and lukewarm. And chewy. And by chewy, I don’t mean dry. I mean lots of cartilage and fat. This first time I encountered one of these nasty bits, I thought, well, this happens. It’s dark meat… and sometimes you get a not-so-savory ‘extra.’ But every piece was like this. And there is not enough napkin in the world to hide all the gross bits I had to spit out(sorry, but that’s the truth). Plus, the napkin was cloth and I didn’t want to do that to it; not the napkin’s fault that the shwarma is icky. So, I told the server to please take the dish away because it was chewy. And she did, looking like she totally didn’t understand what I was talking about. And then still charged us $ 15 for the dish. Sigh. The rice, to be fair, was just fine; it was probably the high point of the meal. The hummus was OK, but not as good as what I’m used to(like I said, I could just be spoiled). And my mom said she liked her ghallaba. I didn’t try any because I was done with any sort of chicken after tasting my shwarma. The service wasn’t excellent, but wasn’t horrible. We had asked at one point for a serving spoon, since my mom and stepdad were splitting their meal, and we never got one. But the server was quick enough refilling waters, so that was a plus. I had checked Unilocal before coming here and should’ve heeded the warnings. Don’t make the same mistake. Go somewhere else. Especially for the cost of an entrée($ 12 – 16). I most certainly will not return.

It was our first time eating Mediterranean food and we were a little unsure after seeing the poor reviews – but none of them were really recent so we gave it a try(plus, we had a Groupon we had to use before it expired next week). And we were pleasantly surprised! The menu is HUGE(if you look online, it’s about 10 pages) and there were a lot of things I wanted to try. We shared the Spinach and Feta pies(good) with the garlic sauce(great). I had the house salad which was tasty – and huge(two of us ate on it and still didn’t finish it). My mom’s soup(Lamb Vegetable) and hubby’s soup(Moroccan Haira) were both good. We all also enjoyed the bread and our dinners – from my [eggplant] Mussaka to my mom’s [chicken] Shish Tawook and hubby’s [lamb and chicken] Shwarma Combo. The meat was all very tender and moist(of course we all tried each other’s dishes) and everything was nicely flavored. There was SO much food, though, that we ALL brought home leftovers! The service was great – we were seated right away, given the perfect amount of time to decide on an appetizer and dinners, checked on once or twice(by a manager, even!), drinks were refilled quickly(they actually brought a carafe of water), and the bill was taken and handled efficiently. Overall it was a nice dinner experience and I would recommend it to others.
