Pretty much everything in the reviews made by others is what’s happening to us. They installed their units in our brand new house, and they have never worked properly.

If a 0 star were possible this company would get it. If their workers were rated I’d give them a 4 – 5 star, but the company’s responsiveness and installation of product initially have been pitiful. We had brand new home that with HVAC installed by company and over two year of home ownership has required six calls to fix issues with the initial installation, all of which have resulted in discussions with unprofessional customer service representatives and workers who I end up feeling bad for having to fix issues with shoddy product and craftsmanship from the initial installation. Stay away from this company.

Just like Michael S. (review posted on 7÷26÷15), I bought a newly constructed home in March 2015 with a HVAC unit installed by Metcalfe. My unit went out on Saturday, I called their ²⁴⁄₇ «emergency’ line at least 4 times on Sunday and finally had to call again on Monday to even get a response. Needless to say they were less than accommodating. Even though my construction site project manager called the owner of Metcalfe (or so the project manager says), we still received no response, no apologies for not calling us back, nothing.
I understand that it’s August and they are probably really busy but the least you can do is (1) return one of the several voicemail messages left on your „emergency“ line and (2) ATTEMPT to accommodate your customer. The appointment offered was a ‘take it or leave it.» There was no mention of a «we’ll definitely call you if we can squeeze you in earlier» or «we’re so busy but we’re going to try and get to you ASAP.»
Absolutely crickets heard on the other end of the phone. Poor customer service.
My parents use an AC guy that used to be employed by Metcalfe and he told me to NEVER use them (that’s pretty bad). He was very adamant about that. Unfortunately, if I don’t use them, not only will I have to pay out of pocket but I’m sure it’ll do something weird and unfair to my warranty. I’m stuck.
Let’s see if they show up on time and can actually fix the problem.

Bought a newly constructed home with hvac installed by Metcalfe, and it hasn’t worked correctly since day one. When you can get them to respond to a message for service (currently waiting 4.5 hours) they come out, say they fixed it but do very little work and the system works for a short period of time before it stops completely.
My next move a this point is to file a lawsuit against metcalfe and the builder. For what we paid for a brand new home, we shouldn’t be having this issue.

We have a house that’s less than a year old! Our AC stopped working on May 25, 2015, Memorial Day. Called their emergency number, and the service said there is no one on call. We called them back on May 26h, and they sent out a technician to check the system the next day. Turns out the blower motor needs to be replaced. The technician said that they would order the motor that day, and install it the following day (May 28^th). My husband took the day off so they could install it on that day. They never showed up and when we called, they said they didn’t have the motor! Thanks for notifying us, Metcalfe! They also couldn’t tell us when they would be receiving it or where it was being shipped from! On June 1^st, we were finally told that the motor will be arriving by June 3^rd (today), and will be installed on June 4^th. My husband called today (June 3^rd) to confirm the repair for tomorrow, and was told that they haven’t received the motor, and have to reschedule us again!
!0 days, so far, without an AC! Waiting on a motor that could have been ordered over night or at the most a 2 day delivery!
METCALFE DOESN’T CARE AT ALL ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS! Don’t waste your money with this company.
We are stuck with them for now because of our builder has contracted with them. But we will never buy another system from this company. I’m rating them at –5, on a good day!

This company continues to provide terrible customer service. They don’t show up for their appointments on time, and are rude and condescending when we have to contact them about missed appointments.
We have another issue which was supposed to be resolved with an 8 – 12 window on Friday. After calling at 11:30am we were told they were «running late». No phone call or heads up until we contacted them.
A tech showed up at 4:30pm, looked at the unit, and said he didn’t bring the right equipment to diagnose the problem. What was the point of making us sit here until almost 5pm if he wasn’t bringing the correct equipment anyway? I was then promised the 8am appointment today, and after calling at 9am was told he was «stuck in traffic» and it would be at least another hour or two.
Don’t use this company unless you are prepared to stay home every day and wait for someone to get around to showing up, or if you enjoy rude and condescending customer service when calling to inquire about your appointment.

Our systems were installed by Metcalfe as part of our new home 1.5 years ago. One of them appeared to have a small leak somewhere since everything worked fine last year, and this year the coldest the supply air would get was around 70 degrees. Called Metcalfe who informed me that the diagnostic fee was $ 135, and the system was out of warranty. Turned out to be a leak at the filter on the outside unit due to a faulty flared connection. Translation — installer error. BUT, Metcalfe did the right thing and covered the repair (would have been around $ 475), in consideration of the fact that it took over a year for enough Freon to leak out for the problem to show up.
Giving ⁴⁄₅ stars in consideration that even though there was a defect in installation, they did the right thing and covered it anyway.

This company IS OVERPRICED!!! Make sure you call around first and get the work done cheaper!!! They take advantage of those who’s AC has gone out!!!

I’ve been using Metcalfe for a couple years now to provide regular maintenance and repairs. They’ve always been on time and their technicians are pleasant.
However…
Over the past year I’ve noticed rust/​condensation spots by one part of the HVAC unit, two months ago a technician came out to do the annual check-​up and didn’t notice anything irregular. Fast forward two months and now there’s a puddle in that area. My husband called to have someone come back out and when they got here they told me it was $ 130 for them to check it out. I grumbled, stated I just had someone else out there two months prior. The technician just shrugged. After inspecting the area in question he told me I needed to replace all of the piping in that area and it would cost $ 560. Alas, he had to order the parts since they don’t typically carry them with them. Okay, it’s expensive, but I guess it needs to be done… thinking the $ 560 included the cost for having the technician come out. Notsomuch. So in total it would be $ 690. I found this a bit pricey so I asked to see if they could do better considering this was the second time in 3 months someone had come out and I’ve been a customer for years. Nope. nodda. I said forget it. Called someone else and they fixed the issue for less than $ 50.
Overall… over-​priced.
