I realize this is Christmas Day but there should be some understanding that if you’re open, you’ll end up with a crowd. The floors are definitely not the cleanest but I’ll cut them a bit of slack because of the recent rains. The checkouts are not well staffed and even the self checkout lines are only partly working(1 of 4 registers are NON functional). The selection for meat today was good but the produce isles looked sloppy and unkempt. There seems little alacrity in the staff to move things along. I wouldn’t recommend this particular Safeway and the only reason I’m using it is because I’m out of food!

This is by far the worst shopping experience I’ve had in this forgettable part of western MD. It’s a supermarket; it stocks produce, dairy and dry grocery. But it is afflicted with a terrible, pervasive sense of disinterest, a lack of urgency, and a parody — nay, a caricature of passive customer service. The level of attitude and disinterest was palpable during today’s visit. I rather like to think that it being a national holiday the staff felt collectively at ease to overly relax their expected standards and just waddle along, plodding through their shifts. I kinda thought that maybe this was just another day in Clinton. Today’s visit was awful. Children running around being disobedient for the«adults»(?) with them, screaming and messing with stuff on shelves; men and women stalking the aisles with sunglasses indoors pretending to feature in some absurd hip hop video showcasing their«vida loca»; and worse of all — the amount of swearing by both customers and employees! I’m not at all a saint, but feck me there’s swearing and there’s the excessive gratuitous and purposeful avoidance of using normal grammar to express yourself. It was so obnoxious, irritating and crass that it made the place too obnoxious for me. It made me cut my quick stop even shorter than it was meant to be; got my water and I was lucky there was no queue for me to pay quickly and get out. I really hope it’s not like that everyday there — otherwise it would be a miserable place to have to endure. There was one employee that seemed nice and I hope for her sake she’s not the only one. I really do hope this was a random one-off experience as it was really… obnoxious, that’s the main adjective that comes to mind. It really made the place seem tired and unpleasant. I usually don’t mind supermarkets too much, but I’m really glad that is not at all my local.

This Safeway is the worst ever. The customer service is poor and the lines are atrocious – 25 min at least plus self check out is frequently not available. It is worth driving farther to go to another store, if you can.

Big. Good selection. The shopping center it’s in is a pain to get in and out of. It’s more expensive than the Giant on the other side of Branch Ave, but the Giant is smaller. Edit: The Giant has closed.

Variety wise, very solid. Prices– very high. Those savings cards are a con. You aren’t saving more than you would at their competitors(aside from my own assesment, a former employee of theirs let the cat out of the bag). The real problem here is the MANAGEMENT. I ordered b-day cupcakes for my daughter’s 1st birthday. Not only did they spell her name completely wrong(it didn’t even make sense phonetically), they were very indifferent and reluctant to correct the situation. I had to have a protracted arguement with both managers who looked like they just should’ve had a V8. At another time, I needed to use their Western Union services. Their machine stayed«broken» for over a week and a half(I don’t know if it ever got fixed. I gave up and went to Giant). Managers should be dilligent about trying to provide the best possible customer service experience to the customer. Even if things aren’t perfect, you should still see the effort. Please Be Clear– neither of the two I encountered(1male 1 female) seem to give a rat’s behind about the customer or their«experience» and wore their disdain openly.
