Very good. Not as good as it used to be, however. The red sauce used to taste homemade, and now it tastes like it came out of a can. They still serve copious amounts of food– which is nice for families. Sometimes, we order from Log Cabin simply so that we will have leftovers and I wont have to cook the next day! The service is always friendly, and the restaurant clean. It would just be nice if they focused on flavor a little more.

One of the best places I have eaten in. LOVE the portion sizes always some to take home and enjoy again later, please never cut down on the sizes of the portions so nice to get your money worth of good food. The staff is always nice!!! and accommodating. The cabin can get pretty crowded on the weekend, Love everything I have had to eat at this place been going for 2 years now.

Portions are huge! Food is great with plenty left over to bring home. If you just look at the menu it seems on the expensive side but you get at least two full meals out of one order! Seating is in one giant room though so your dining next to many other tables.

We haven’t been in quite some time(due to distance). Portions are huge especially with the bread, salad and pasta to start. I had the chicken Gorgonzola and it’s great. My husband had the fried combo and it was eh. Other diners had chicken parm and chicken florentine. All were very good. My kids had the standard kids fare. Lost a star for me because the never refilled my water. I drink water at restaurants not because I’m cheap but because I need to drink water. All in all a good option for the shoreline. Next time I’ll try the stuffed shrimp.

We had dinner last evening at the Log Cabin. We were surprised to see that there was a 30 minute wait as that is what you see during the summer when the beaches are a buzzin! Once seated we were quickly greeted and offered bread with butter. The bread was crispy on the outside and piping hot and soft on the inside… YUM! I ordered the Pork Chop dinner to split with my mom. The dinner is HUGE with 3 large chops. Our friends split the baked scallop dinner which was absolutely enough for the two of them. The salad starter was fresh and crisp and the housemade garlic dressing was delicious. Of course it would not have been dinner at the Log Cabin without the bowl of pasta for the table to share. The sauce is excellent and the pasta was just al dente which was perfect. I will sometimes pick up sauce for my son-in-law who lives in California and bring it with me when I fly to the west coast. He loves his pasta and devours this sauce! I only gave it 3 stars since the food is just what 3 stars means, A-OK. Nothing gourmet about the food or over the top but consistently good.

Hit the Outlet shops and knew there wasn’t a decent place there to eat. Decided to cruise along Route 1 and thought I would find a seafood spot for lunch. Couldn’t believe I saw a restaurant called The Log Cabin in Connecticut and the lot was full so I decided to try it. Large, comfortable, open dining room; surprisingly pleasant noise level even though it was full. Attentive and very nice servers. The Philly Cheesesteak sandwich was obscenely delicious! It was tender, hot, and had just the right amount of cheese and other toppings. However, it was enormous — an entire loaf of fresh Italian bread was used to create this meltingly rich and delectable sandwich. The fries were tasty; properly cooked and salted. The price is unbelievably low once you see how much delicious food is presented. This isn’t a place for light appetites as I only ate ½ of my sandwich and that was because I stuffed myself. Although I’m not a fan of enormous portions, the food was fresh and yummy. Be prepared to share or take ½ or more of your meal home.

Where to start, the portions are big enough to serve a large family. I really like how they are so friendly, it’s like eating dinner at your Aunt’s house who knows how to cook and makes you feel welcome. If your looking for a good meal at a good price this is the place to go. If you want to take the family out and treat and look like a big shot go here. Everything I have had is good, not great but good and reasonably priced. Great family restaurant. Be the hero, pick up the bill.

First time eating at the log cabin. Fried Mozzarella is fresh and was fantastic. pasta was flavorless, the bleu cheese steak was surprising. It was a massive thick steak enough for 2, was cooked perfectly and was very tender. Sat at the bar and this was the negative. The bartender was not pleasant. Seemed bothered to serve us and ignored a question when asked but responded 2 minutes later with the answer so clearly heard the question when she walked away. Horrible personality for the public interaction. Older woman, would not sit there again if i return.

Only ok food, frozen spinach, unfriendly waiter, good side salad and nice cabin feel(only good things to say), found a hair in pasta and still had to ask for money off — I refused the discount they gave me after she suggested it was my hair(waitress had black hair which matched it not my light brown) — horrible, terrible experience — don’t go. Any restaurant that tries to tell you it was your hair in food that has just landed in front of you has no idea about how to provide service — gross!!!

This was my favorite meal for years at LC but it was a big disappointment. I would order the flounder Florentine and be totally satisfied. It is changed to scrod Florentine and the Quality in poor. It made me sick to the stomach. Frozen spinach? Log cabin has lost a customer. Too many good restaurants to try and not be satisfied. Good luck LC. You were good for a long time but your time is over.

This was my first visit here and I was impressed. HUGE portions! Very good food and a friendly waitress. I got the surf and turf. Way too much food for one person(and I can eat). I would recommend stopping in if you’re in the area.

Please pardon me, i’m getting a little emotional while giving this review of this infamous restaurant. Admittedly, i’m a huge fan of seafood, so when a friend of mine told me about The Log Cabin and the humongous portions, needless to say, I made it my #1 priority to visit this place. First, the penne dish with the red sauce was served in an extremely large bowl. Honestly, at least 4 people can share this dish. The pasta was cooked just right while the red sauce was absolutely outstanding with a touch of parmesan cheese. Now here comes my favorite part of my meal, I ordered the fried seafood combination(shrimp, calamari, clam strips and french fries). I’m having tears of joy as I reminisce on that beautiful and abundant seafood platter coming to our table!!! It was pure bliss devouring as much as I can of this delicious seafood!!! It’s impossible to finish this meal, and I was only happy to request the remaining portion be placed in a take out container. I don’t usually give 5 stars, but I have no choice!!! This was by far the best seafood and i’m looking forward to returning to this place in the very near future.

Ok, if you enjoy small portions, this is NOT the place for you! A menu that is diverse yet filled with comfort foods will delight most diners. You will be taking food home, so understand that right from the start. Most choices come with a pasta course… Which means you will have a bowl of pasta in front of you big enough to bathe a chihuahua in! So that will be your first doggie bag… Then the food comes, I am not a light eater by any stretch of the imagination and I could make 2 – 3 large meals from most of the entrees! The quality is good, the service is excellent(very little turn-over among servers), and the price is great considering you are getting 3 or more meals(between the entrée and the pasta) for the $ 20-$ 25 price of most menu items. I done here every few weeks, it’s a nice tradition and very family friendly!!!

This place has been around«forever.» The food servings are huge and I believe that is why most people come here. The food is good, the service is fine but it’s nothing to write home about. I’m glad I’ve finally tried it, but it’s not my cup of tea. I’d rather pay more for a regular portion and have a great meal.

I’ve never had Italian food in a restaurant that looks like log cabin before, but it’s actually pretty tasty! That’s a good thing, now that their primary competition in Clinton(Roma Di Notte) is seemingly no longer in business. Their homemade sauce is amazing, and the portions are HUGE. Trust me, you’ll have leftovers for days. Their Prime Rib special on weekends is also pretty good, but I’m not a fan of their Scrod Florentine. The sauce on it just tasted odd to me. The staff is also friendly, and the prices are reasonable considering the portion sizes. I’d go back!

Wow! My BF has been telling me about this place for two years now and he took me here for dinner this weekend. I was so excited! So the log cabin is beautiful, although the dining room was much smaller then I had anticipated it being inside. The bar area was almost as big as the dining room! Inside was cozy and homey. We arrived at dinner time(5:30 pm) on a Saturday so of course there was a wait of approximately 15 – 20 mins. Our waitress was very pleasant and super knowledgeable on the menu. We both ordered specials, mine was the Lobster Sachattini which was out of this world good! When we came in I saw a woman at the next table eating this amazing looking dish and had to ask the waitress what it was… little purse filled pastas with lobster meat, served with shrimp, scallops and portobello mushrooms in an Alfredo sauce. CANYOUIMAGINE? OMG! Yes it was THATGOOD! When the next table was seated, they were asking ME what I ordered! My BF had the Grilled Pork Loin over Broccoli Rabe, which he said was awesome! They start you off with fresh, hot bread and a BIG bowl of penne with marinara sauce and grated cheese. All dinners also come with a side salad. We both loved their Creamy Garlic Dressing too! You will DEFINITELY have leftovers! Maybe even for a few meals. Portions were HUGE to say the least. Prices were great considering all the food they serve you. We stopped eating our entrees to save room for dessert… you must try their awesome Carrot Cake! Super yummy and moist! Everything tastes homemade and prepared with a lot of love put into it. It’s 5:00 am the next morning… I already had to eat some of my leftovers… I was dreaming about them they were so good last night! I couldn’t hold out another minute! Yum!

Absolutely the best place for American food. Every meal starts with a keg sized bowl of pasta. The steaks are juicy and succulent and the fish is always cooked to perfection. And without a doubt the best clam chowder in the state. The chocolate lava cake is an excellent dessert. You will always leave with plenary of leftovers. Probably enough to last two days. The last existing restaurant on Connecticut to really embrace the art of large portions. As a hearty eater, I am a huge fan of the Log Cabin. Waitstaff is always great. There is one waitress that is a little shaky but the food is so good that it is worth putting up with her.
