So, I went to Palmieris today, hadn’t been in a while, wasn’t happy with the quality of our food and they had screwed up a few orders, but I wanted a fresh made salad for lunch and they were nearby so I thought I’d give them another chance. Ordered a Cobb salad, got a big container of romaine with ½ a sliced tomato, green olives, black olives, roasted red peppers, jalapeños and a dry grilled chicken breast, very disappointed. If you don’t know what ingredients go in a menu item, then maybe it shouldn’t be on the menu. Not to mention that I was the only order and it took over 25 minutes to get my salad, but then, the cook was a little busy with his phone call.

Just like NYC. Not a foodie pizza but rather a very authentic NYC slice, like the kind you get on a paper plate and fold in half and scarf down while walking. Only difference is you can choose to sit down in one of a few tables inside an old train car and relax while you nosh. Flaky light crust, very very white! No wheat flour here! Despite being non foodie joint we asked about mushrooms and learned fresh was an option. they were lovely big savory fungus. Bacon was generous, and Cooked perfectly. Enjoy an amuse Bouche of a tiny pizza slice while you wait. Fresh cannoli to die for, vanilla crème in a crisp shell. The service was also authentically NYC.(All the people poo pooing the service are nuts. This isn’t a fancy dining establishment) Don’t expect the ritz! Seat yourself. Order yourself at the counter and enjoy the friendly community of your fellow diners and the owner. Banter about NYC, and how awsome Puerto Rico is. Priced on the cheap with great combos. Can’t wait to come back for the friendly fun city like atmosphere, an oasis of ethnic diversity in the land of the whites.

This place has great pizza and sandwiches! The staff is friendly as well, but their delivery service can be slow during the weekend.

When I read through the negative reviews of this place it makes me wonder if they are from a parallel universe in which the food is bad and the staff are a bunch of monsters. This could not be farther from the truth. I have been there about ten times and never had a bad experience with the food or staff. Those who are writing that the staff is mean, or rude and that it’s not real New York pizza are probably a bunch of entitled crybaby wanna-be«foodies» that have way too much time on their hands and expect that Willie should be shipping in New York water to make his crusts. The pizza is reasonably priced and delicious, the staff is delightful. What more do you need?

Stopped in here with my fiancé for a quick bite to eat, we shared a pizza and it was delicious! The staff was friendly and inviting. It was small and was pretty hot inside, but the pizza was so good. We will definitely be back.

The pizza is amazing, just like New York! We were greeted with a sample and a cheerful welcome as we came in. Highly recommend if you just want to eat and get on with the day.

I love it here! The eggplant grinder is usual yet delicious and the white pizza is my favorite. Most people love the buffalo chicken pizza but I do not like spicy. I highly suggest!

Your food is good, thus the 2 stars instead of 1. Hire a freaking phone person! The service is atrocious! Stop opening more locations & hire appropriately at the locations you have! If you order & they tell you 20 minutes, show up in 50. Even still, you may have to wait. Ridiculous. Really not sure how they’ve stayed open this long. Phone is always busy & they have legit 2 people ATMOST working.

Fantastic pizza — even late at night. The kids were thrilled that they got pizza(not burgers) & we were thrilled that the food was good!

The driver was nice, that’s about the highlight of this dining experience. I ordered calamari and a margarita pizza, both which after an hour wait arrived cold. The calamari was soggy so I called the restaurant back. After letting the phone ring for what seemed like forever finally someone answered. I explained my situation and I was asked what I wanted them to do for me and I said I wanted a discount. I was told I could get a free pizza next time I came in for pick up and I told them I wouldn’t be using them again so I didn’t need a free pizza for a later time. I was told that if I wanted my food hot I could have came and picked it up! Eventually he did give me a discount after I explained to him I worked delivering pizza for years, so no food doesn’t just get cold, even if you have to take 3 deliveries out.(Can’t bullsh*t me!) He did apologize but was pretty much a jerk about the situation. Besides the fact even after I attempted to save the calamari it was ruined and the pizza didn’t taste good at all. It definitely isn’t new haven style! Ugh I wish there was a decent pizza place in clinton that delivered with NICE employees.

Called to see if they would deliver, and the man who answered was very rude and insisted that he couldn’t deliver to us, because we were too far. We live less than 5 minutes away. I’ve yet to try their pizza, and after that conversation, I’m not sure I want to.

Ordered delivery. Took forever. Received wrong order. Driver was reluctant to give change. I could have drove to the grocery store, bought a frozen pizza, drove home, cooked it, and ate it in the same time… and it would have been cheaper and better-tasting. I used to be a chef, and heads would have rolled if my guys had ever done anything like this.

Our first, but definitely not our last visit to Palmieri’s in Clinton, CT. Greeting & service were perfect for a Saturday afternoon and the pizza was the best in CT! Atmosphere is casual dining in a renovated train station. It’s small, but Palmieri’s is big on flavor offering pizza; salads, grinders, and other Italian dishes. The couple next to us ordered salads. They were topped with plenty of chicken and nice size too. Delicious lunch and cozy atmosphere. Oh, don’t forget to get your cannoli, you won’t be sorry.

Best pizza in town. Chicken parm grinders/pizza are great! Willy is super friendly and knows everyone by name. You won’t be disappointed.

The pizza here is generic NY style meaning the sauce has no flavor, the crust has no character and is underdone and they don’t put Romano on the top. It gets the job done(I guess?) but why would you even consider this place when Grand Apizza is 2 minutes away and a highly superior New Haven style joint. A big fat meh to this place.

One of our worst restaurant experiences in memory today. Came in on a Sunday afternoon at 2PM. Seated ourselves and eventually received menus. They were not busy. After 15 minutes I went up to the counter and asked if we ordered up there, and the waitress said she would come to our table. Five minutes later she did and we ordered. After another 20 minutes she brought our drinks and my wife’s soup, but no salads. After waiting another 20 minutes and no sign of food or salads, I decided to go to the counter and asked to pay for the soup and drinks and told the manager(?) to forget about the food, we had been there more than an hour. He charged me for the drinks and soup, and offered no explanation or apology. They are either understaffed or inept, maybe both. Will never return.

Best pizza in town. And the free slice is a hoot! I tried to tell them that it wasn’t mine the first time they handed it to me. =) Sure, there is plenty of room to grow… they need to have a little more seating and re-do the signage outside. I thought they were temporary from when they first moved in, to drum up business, before they started serving food. Now that they’ve been up and running for a while, they need to paint over the hand-scrawled signage. But the people are nicer, the service is better, and the food is tastier than other pizza joints nearby(Nuzzo’s and Grand.) If you’re looking for change, give them a try.

If you’re looking for good pizza in Clinton go to Grand Apizza. This joint advertises they serve NY style pizza. Big-whoop-de-do. C’mon folks, we are only 75 miles from NYC. What other kind of pizza would you expect it to be? Chicago deep dish? No. It could be Greek pizza but in the state with the highest concentration of Italian-Americans the odds of that happening are rare. Face it, most of us locals instinctively know that NY style pizza is a «given» in these parts. There’s no need to advertise it like it some sort of specialty. And boy is it definitely NY style pizza. It’s the same crappy pizza served by every Puerto Rican in every Famous Rays on every street corner in Manhattan. Just because somebody says something is NY style doesn’t automatically mean it is good. NY is not immune from its fair share of awful food. I know this firsthand having I lived there myself. Plus, what’s up with only one size pizza available? It’s not like it’s a small personal size. Instead it’s large size which is way too big for one person like myself. While the interior of this place is very much nicely decorated, the multiple signs outside the building look like they were painted by a 5 year old. Way to go in ruining the exterior of a Clinton architectural landmark. Also, would it kill them to shovel the handicap walkway for customers? It hadn’t snowed in over 36 hours and the ramp still had snow on it.
