Eh, this place is pretty average. The first time I went here we sat down, this place is very clean and very new looking. The waitress was okay, we felt liket we were being rushed because we came in a bit on the late side, probablly an hour or so before closing. But overall the pizza was pretty good. The second time my boyfriend and I got pizza here it was take out and the pizza wasn’t as good this time! We asked for it well done and it actually seemed less cooked than average. The third and last time I ever got pizza here was with my dad and boyfriend and sister. We ordered a large one or two topping pizza, and the total came to $ 29.00!!! That’s craziness, a large specialty pizza at petrillos is 18 or 19 dollars. The pizza is good but it’s not as good as actual new haven pizza and deffinetly not worth the price. I guess your just paying for the name. I will probablly eat here again because I love pizza and it’s pretty close to where I live, but I don’t think it’s out of the world. If you want new haven style pizza make the drive or take the train to new haven and enjoy.

I love this place. We just moved to the area last month from new haven and haven’t missed the pizza there thanks to these guys. Madison is quite a surprise when it comes to pizza with two heavy hitters in this and the other pizza place downtown. I would say New Haven Apizza just edges out Grand with their delicious crust and exceptional service. You can’t go wrong. If you’re at the driving range next door, be sure to pop in for a slice.

Lived in madison most of my life. And this is the closest to new haven pizza you can get. All fresh ingredients and flavor. This place is definitely the best pizza to get outside Of new haven. The margarita with bacon is what I always order.

As a native New Yorker, I am really picky about my pizza… but New Haven Apizza is great! Not only is the Pizza yummy, but the service is amazing. The owner really knows how to take care of his customers. He was a huge help in accommodating a last minute order for my daughter’s birthday party. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

A truly average pizza branded with the new haven name. No wood or coal oven. A bread-like dry crust that is not chewy. Not thin. Nothing distinctive. Only thing new haven is the name. Nice boxes but you can’t eat that. Form over substance here. Do not go out of your way.

Best pizza in area. Sauce is delicious and we always order extra cheese because we like it that way. It’s less doughy then most so does not feel like you just ate a brick. They are usually busy around dinner time do do yourself a favor and give yourself 45 minutes .Do yourself a favor and give it a try!

Pizza is fair at best. New Haven style but the dough is not nearly as good as Marcos in Branford. Travel the extra 20 minuets for great pizza at Marcos or an additional 35 minutes for best pizza in the world at several New Haven apizza places. My biggest gripe was having to wait over an hour for one large pie. Place wasn’t even that busy.

Great food, reasonable prices and friendly service. The salads come free with a dinner are themselves a dinner. You Won’t Be disappointed!

decent pizza, a little thicker than average for a new haven style apizza but worth stopping in. super clean place, super friendly staff. i had some reheated slices to go and they were nice — crust was a bit crunchy, not gummy or doughy — a little char would have helped it. the tomato sauce tasted nice and fresh. cheese was nicely melted, stringy and gooey like it should be. for reheated slices, these were seriously good. and not oily or greasy. next time i drive by i will need to stop in and order a whole pie. they do some fancy crazy pies that look interesting.

This place is awesome, Madison residents are spoiled to have both Red Tomato and this joint in the same town.

We love this place. Everything has been consistent and the service is always friendly. The pizza is great, no matter what we’ve ordered. I love the clam pie, ate a whole small myself. The sandwich selection is outstanding too. After living in town for 20 years, with this menu & quality, they have everything we need. Try it and you’ll be a fan. (if anyone thinks Village Pizza is cutting edge, they’re clueless)

Several months and many pizzas and dinners later, I would like to update my review. The pizza and dinners have been totally consistent, that meaning consistently excellent. We have been steadily ordering from here at least once a week and have yet to be anything but thrilled with the food. Yes, they can get busy on the weekend, but order early, it is totally worth it! You can really taste the quality and freshness of the ingredients. We are still fans and more so now than ever! Excellent establishment, excellent food!

Best pizza you can find around here without going to new haven. Really good dough and cheese. I got half cheese half sausage peppers and onions. It was the best cheese I’ve had in a while. They have stuffed breads made to order which is great. Really friendly too.

OK, I will admit it, I was desperate to actually try their food after my first visit ended in me being accused of being a coupon counterfeiter and them giving me no food but cashing in the de facto legitimate coupon anyway. Their menu is so enticing that I just had to get my hands on some of their food. Realizing they probably had wanted signs with my picture on them tacked up around the glorified nook they call a restaurant I blocked my caller ID and had my friend pick up the order. After the first time netted a mediocre mashed potato pizza for nearly $ 20 I gave them one last try with a roast beef sub that unfortunately left me wishing I had gone to Subway. It is really too bad this place cannot seem to get it together. With Village Pizza down for however long Madison needs a good cutting edge pizza joint but at least for me, in three attempts, I have not found it at Madison Apizza.

Gave this new pizza restaurant a try after reading the reviews. Certainly not the best and without the coupon received in a flyer, higher in price than some of the other local places. Special with the coupon was a large mozzarella with a choice of two toppings. Chose broccoli and garlic; plenty of broccoli but the garlic was hard to find. Sauce/topping reasonably tasty but crust tended to be dry and without much flavor. Counter girl was pleasant but folks in the back were not.

Gluten free pizza was not bad. Thicker crust and more toppings than the usual gluten free pies in the area. Crust was just on the dry side, and lacking flavor. Friendly employees, and the place looked spotless. I would ask them next time to cook a little longer, and maybe a little extra oil on the dough. I’ll go back.
