Best steak house in the area. Just like the NYC steakhouses. Valet parking. Usually no problem getting a table without a reservation. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Appetizers are all good and they have the classics like a big tomato, big slices of bacon. Steaks are all cooked well and I love their steak sauce which is similar to the classic Peter Lugers sauce. Sides such as creamed spinach, mushrooms and onions all good. Again very similar to the NYC steak houses but right here in Bergen county. The only problem is that lately we have noticed flies in the place. Hope they fix that soon.

My wife and I were looking for a last minute dining option to have an early Father’s Day Dinner and came across the reviews of this gem. After a quick response from Roza G. about my concerns for late reservations and accomodations for infants, I was assured that there were no problems. We arrived hungry and excited to try out their famed Porter House Stake. The Lobster Avocado and Grilled Octopus apetizers were light and heavenly delicious. The Steak was as jaw-dropping, mouth watering, enchantly aeromatic fantasticly looking as it was tasty. It was the perfect choice. The slice of cheese cake and tiramisu that follow were the best light and sweet finish that meal required. The staff were very friendly, warm and accomodating. I felt like I was at my friends house for dinner. I will definitely be returning here and will be recommending it to friends and family.

First time and not sure I ever need to go back. Valet parking is required, which normally isn’t a big deal when it’s staffed appropriately. We arrived in a Saturday night and the line to drop off the car was 5 cars deep and only one guy running cars. Stupid. The upstairs outside seating area is wonderful and probably one of the few nice dining places outside in Bergen county. The wait staff is a bit gruff and not on top of their game to keep your wine glass full. We had grilled calamari with bacon and hot peppers on the special which was ok. I had linguini with south African lobster which was good. My husband had the seafood linguini which was full of sand. The staff explained it’s because the clams and offered to re-make without. The dish came back out without the clams but there was still sand in the pasta. We think they plucked the clams but they say it was new pasta. Odd that sand was still there? In the end, they did send over desert as an apology which was a nice gesture. It was tiramisu and lava cake. Both were«ok» but nothing I’d order again. Overall, food was ok but considering the price point I would expect better food and more polished wait staff. Checked the box, don’t need to go back. If I want outdoor dining with great service and food, I’ll go to locale down the road.

Solid, consistent place with good food. A little pricey but that’s just the kind of restaurant it is.(I had a hard time justifying the $ 11 tiny dessert though. The waiter also unceremoniously threw our dessert spoons on the table). They should also specify that the onion soup is French onion. I was torn between 3 – 4 stars because all throughout our meal there were some flies in our faces and around our food, which really ruined the experience for me.

I came here a few weeks ago with a girlfriend and had a great time. I love their Norwood restaurant so had high hoped for this one. We both did the prix fixe which was a great deal. We both had salads and the filet mignon. I ordered my filet medium rare and it did come out a little more medium but still delicious. Jimmy was our server and he was excellent! Very attentive and brought out my friend’s dessert with a candle because he overheard it was her birthday. Thanks for making our night great Jimmy!

Everything was so great! The steak & Mac and cheese were delicious. Our server rushed us a little bit, which we definitely didn’t like, but that won’t stop us from coming back.

My family and I had dinner here and while there were some bumps in the beginning, they definitely stuck the landing. Our waiter Jimmy was a bit standoffish and had a hard time answering our questions regarding the house wine that accompanied our Prix Fixe meals. We weren’t sure that he completely understood what my sister had wanted. Sure enough we got a glass of wine that was not what we wanted. But as soon as we let Jimmy know that we had wanted something else, he apologized and brought out the right wine. He hen told us that the extra glass would not be charged to us and to enjoy the mistaken glass anyways. That put us all in a better mood. Jimmy then proceeded to have a pleasant conversation with my sister once he found out that she was a grade school teacher in a nearby town. Breand and starter courses came out promptly, but there was a bit of lull between the main entrees. No matter we were enjoying the bread and conversations. We had ordered the sliced Fliet Mignon, Veal Cutlet Milanes, Seafood Linguine, and Prime NY Sirloin on the bone. All entrees were great and were plentiful portions. Every so often some manager would visit to ask if everything was alright to which we answered that everything was good. Afterwards we were served the desert courses from our Prix Fix selections and once Jimmy found out that we were celebrating my birthday, he brought out a small sorbet dish with a birthday candle. Jimmy and the staff treated our whole family well and you can rest assured that if we have another celebration we will have to have it at Sear House.

The evening we went here was a very rainy evening. We were seated right away, but what we were blown away by was how far the management went to make sure we were taken care of properly. After being seated by the hostess, we were left unattended for at least 15 to 20 minutes while other tables were receiving service from waiters, though being seated after us. Once we let our hostess know, the entire management staff worked at a frantic pace to make sure we were ok. Even giving us complimentary salads and drink vouchers for our next visit. The food was good. My steak was cooked on par with what I’ve had at Park Steakhouse in Park Ridge. A really top notch crust and good seasoning. Only nit picky thing is that it was just a tad greasier than I liked. I wonder if our waiter was actually a manager. He was the nicest server I’ve had in a long time. I would go back just for him. You can tell they try really hard to make sure patrons are treated right. Appears that they have plenty of managers on the floor to be sure of this.

Came here for the first time based on all the Unilocal reviews. I will say was not disappointed and will be back. My review is based in two parts first will be food then service. 1. We ordered the Special for two(ribeye and fillet)…I would give this a 3.5 for two reasons… We asked for medium, instead it was more on the rare side and a bit charred. This basically means the steak was cooked over very high heat which didn’t let it cook through enough. The sheer size and taste of the steak I give a 4.5. It could of used a bit more seasoning. The other thing we ordered was the halibut. This was a huge piece of wish but a little blend… an extra pinch of salt wouldn’t hurt 3.5 stars. 2. The service was great… and for that I give 5 stars. It’s always nice when the owner stops by and asked how everything is going and if there is anything that can be done.

I have never been here before, but have only heard good things, so I decided to take my boyfriend here for a birthday dinner last weekend. Lets just say we were not disappointed! Remi was an awesome server and very attentive to our needs. We started off with the Cesar Salad, which was huge, but very good. I had the Surf and Turf, and my boyfriend had the 12 oz Filet Mignon. Both steaks were cooked to perfection. As our sides we ordered the Mac and Cheese and French Fries, which did not disappoint. I asked for the check since we were stuffed and didn’t think we could fit anymore and our waiter walked over with a complimentary slice of cheesecake. It must have been the best cheesecake we ever had, because we devoured it within seconds. Can’t wait to come back!

4 Stars(but nearly five) Before you read my review, first know that this was our third time here. Our previous visits were disappointing and we were vocal about our experiences here on Unilocal. With that, we received a very nice message from the owner asking us to try their venue again and that changes had been made. We took her up on the offer, exactly 1 year from the date we were there last, Valentine’s Day weekend. It takes guts to contact people on here and ask them to come back — and I’m really glad they did. It’s like they did a complete flip on service, food quality and prep. We were really pleased. They scheduled Valentine’s Day correctly, the restaurant was somewhat busy but manageable. Service was on point, although I suspect we got a little bit of special treatment. The manager/owner checked with us a couple of times which was nice. Our waiter is definitely someone that has been there for a while, we recognized him. He was attentive and conversational — a contrast from our previous experience. We ordered an appetizer, then for dinner we had steaks with and a side of spinach. The steak was cooked exactly how we ordered it and the sides were fine. They even brought out French fries; we didn’t order them, but they must have though we looked hungry. We also ordered coffee and they brought out a dessert on the house. It was a tiramisu and it was incredible. The only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is for pricing — it’s a steak house, I get it. But it’s not in NYC, so I could see some folks being surprised with the pricing if they didn’t expect it. Definitely check it out for a special occasion, allow enough time to really enjoy the meal and if you’re not happy, tell them — they’ll make it right. We will definitely be back and will recommend this place to folks. Thanks to the owners and staff for the great service and for reaching out.

First I must say, I can definitely be a tough restaurant critic. I’m a former restauranteur and former executive chef. For a restaurant to earn 5 stars from me, they better give impeccable service and very good food. My girlfriend and I came here a year ago for our first date. I was looking for a place that was upscale and offered a fine dining experience. They did not disappoint. I won’t get into specifics about the first date because I would need a few pages. Trust me when I tell you, she was very impressed with my choice that evening. I felt like a superstar. I do want to talk about my anniversary date on Saturday. I’m going to start with the phone call. I called because I wanted reservations at the same restaurant we first went to dinner. I gave them my name and time I would be there and nothing else.(I’ll get back to this in a minute) We pulled up and immediately you know it’s upscale. Valet Parking. I love it!!! We walked in and were cheerfully greeted by the beautiful hostess who happened to be the owners wife Roza. Even the coat check woman greeted us with a friendly smile. When she walked us to our table, it was the same exact table we had. She said we figured we would want the same table. Back to the phone call… they knew exactly who I was and left that table reserved just for us. BTW the restaurant was packed! The waiter came by and wouldn’t you know it… same waiter and he remembered us. We ordered the Grilled Octopus and the Crabmeat Cocktail. The Octopus was the best I’ve had in a very long time. It was tender with just the right amount of seasoning. It was served with perfectly cooked asparagus and some delicious thick sliced potatoes. The Crabmeat was a fresh as it comes. They did the right thing by not adding spices to it. Lettuce and sauce on the side just as it Should be. The waiter actually split both of them into 2 plates for us. Smart of him to do so. For our main course, we ordered the Chilean Sea Bass and the New Zealand Rack of Lamb. The Chilean Sea Bass was cooked to perfection and the portion was very decent. The Lamb was cooked just as I ordered, med rare. It was the most tender cut I’ve had in a very long time. Their menu is so good that you cannot easily decide what to order. All their steaks are aged prime beef. Think Peter Lugers of New Jersey here. The service is impeccable. Roza came to our table to make sure everything was perfect. Every time we finished a course, they not only removed the plates and replaced the silverware, but also used a crumber to clean the crumbs off of the linen. This place truly pays attention to detail. They even gave us a complimentary dessert to share for our anniversary. Thank you so much to the owners and staff for making our evening. My advice… check this place out as soon as you can. You will not be disappointed. Rarely do you find a gem of a restaurant where everything is so perfectly thought of for the customer. Last note… the décor in this place is über chic. If your looking to bring a date to a restaurant, this is the place!!!

Enjoyed a fun and enjoyable dinner last night. We were originally seated in the main dining room, but we requested to sit in the back near the open fire and bar which had a more dim lit ambience for us young folks. The server and manager were incredibly accommodating about this last minute change. Our server Alex was great with our party of 6. We started with the burrata and figs and the grilled calamari. The burrata was already cut in half which was a let down. The grilled calamari on the other hand was really flavorful. I loved my linguine seafood special. The portion was huge! The thin linguine was cooked perfectly. There was ample seafood as you can see from the photo and the sauce was flavorful. My friends enjoyed their rib eye steak — acceptable for a non-chain restaurant in the suburbs. Great wine selections by the bottle. We couldn’t decide on dessert so Alex offered to great a smörgåsbord of most of their options, which was a fabulous offer. My favorite was the chocolate mousse which came on a delicious Oreo crust. Overall enjoyed our experience especially how we were taken care of by Alex and the managers who stopped by to check on how we were doing. Looking forward to stopping in again!

Won a gift card at a tricky tray, had a night off from my toddler so I went with my Mom for dinner. The place is very trendy and inviting. We sat by the fireplace which could be very romantic, we chose it for warmth. The service was prompt and pleasant. The food was good as you would expect though for a local place in the middle of nowhere in Bergen County, it was pricey. The $ 100 gift card didn’t even cover the cost of our 2 meals. We didn’t even get the trout special for $ 42. I guess they think they are in NYC. But this place could be a 5 for me if the prices matched the meals. The food was good but not special enough for those obscene prices. If you wanted to go there for the bar scene that was definitely hopping and lively. I’d go back but there would have to be an occasion that’s special!

Best streak house in a Northern Nj! Came here for a birthday dinner on a Friday night with my husband. The moment we went in we were taken care of. The host was friendly and so was our waiter. Everyone was very attentive and made sure we hade everything we needed. They definitely earn the title of a great streak house! The steak was simply delicious;Tender, flavorful and just melts in your mouth. If you are looking for a chic classy restaurant with amazing food and exceptional service this is the place to go.
