2 cobb salads that in MOSTPLACES are nice size enough to be a dinner, were worthless. But the price was hefty. $ 30!!! We had givin up on marys after they changed management. They don’t put enough sauce on the pizzas, to speak of. And the salads were a head of lettuce with VERYFEW trimmings. I don’t know what we were hoping to get this time. But it was more of the same disappointment. Don’t bother. Just walk past throw money through the door and go get something else to eat. Basically what we did last night. Rediculious.

Mary’s is consistent… consistently BAD. BAD food, BAD service, BAD management. We mostly order delivery, but have done pick up in hopes that something wont be BURNT. They burn pesto sticks, the pizzas, the hot wings. The only thing we have received that was not burnt is the salad. On November 3rd, 2015 we had delivery. We got burnt bread sticks AGAIN, and they forgot the hot wings. When I called to complain, the manager acted as though she could care less. So, they are(supposedly) sending a gift card for $ 10– my wings were $ 9.95PLUSTAX, so we are the losers all the way around. HATE this place.

Mary’s in Cloverdale has been good until recently. Very expensive and an old Mary’s salad with wilted greens. Pizza was also not as good as usual. Very dissappointed.

It’s ok. Food not so good. Pizza isn’t that bad. Great for a lunch in a small town.

Rude service, food not ready on time or done right. Staff don’t wash their hands and laugh at you when you ask them if they do or not. Way to be overpriced garbage pail kids. Making cloverdale better…

I am basing this review on multiple visits. Typically food is over all fine. The down fall of this particular Mary’s is the multiple high school kids who have no care or regard for customers service. Several times I have put in orders for togo pizza here waited to pick it up and it never got made. Lost the order. Perhaps a person. To expedite your phone orders with the prepares. Not coming back. I hate to do it.

Food was pretty good, thin crust pizza and pasta. Service was good. All around it was a clean, quality establishment.

Moved to Cloverdale a year ago. So happy a Marys Pizza Shack was here. Grew up in The Bay Area and it was our favorite growing up. Don’t confuse this place with the quality found at other locations. Disappointed time after time. Pizza not as good. Quality seems lower like they are cutting corners. Service is really bad. Such a shame. Go elsewhere if your in the area.

So pricy for just okay food and service that I don’t know why I keep goin back! Usually because my dining partners want to meet there. Last night as a Xmas meet up, we had pizza, salad, French bread and sodas with a crummy 6 $ dessert. The pizza took forever and the spinach salad was missing several ingredients. Refills on 3 $ sodas were too complicated for our new waitress and the brownie in the dessert was burned! If you must go, be there for Happy Hour when prices on appetizers and drinks are reduced to what it’s really worth.

I have given Marys 5 different occasions to get my order right. I usually call in the order and order a pizza and have them add roasted tomatoes on the pizza. Each and everytime they put the wrong tomatoes on it. I give them the benefit of the doubt and even when I am ordering it I say roasted tomatoes about 5 times in the conversation and I still get the wrong tomatoes. For the price I am paying for a pizza, I would expect to get what I order. Now they do offer to remake the pizza, but then I am waiting another 30 minutes at the store. I would say when the pizza is made correctly, it is a great pizza. I dont now how many more times I can

Great pizza & even better service. Was passing through town & Came in at closing and Nick went above and beyond with his service. Highly recommend for everyone. And make sure to get the best waiter in Cloverdale Nick.

Great for Gluten Free. I love pizza, but am a Celiac, so must eat a Gluten Free diet. Mary’s Pizza not only offers delicious GF pizza, but takes GF seriously. I ordered a GF pizza, but when it was baked, someone accidentally cut the pizza using the knife they had cut the wheat crust pizza with. The waiter apologized to me, said they were remaking my pizza, and that it would be on the house. I really appreciate a restaurant that understands how important preventing cross contamination is. I’ll be ordering a lot of Mary’s Pizza from now on. Thank you.

We have eaten here a couple of times and ordered pizza delivery. I always find the pizza pretty tasty but overpriced. The most recent visit 2 days ago we tried the pasta and gnocchi. It was pretty good, but I do find it overpriced for the quality. Also, the service is usually not very good. They basically have a bunch of high school students running the place, they are pleasant but lack true server experience. It is always absolutely freezing cold in there! When everyone in the whole place has their winter coats on for the entire dinner it’s time to turn up the heat! It was so cold this last time I don’t really want to go back and pay $ 45 to be so uncomfortable. This is the only Mary’s I’ve eaten at, but maybe the temp is a way to turn tables faster? Although this Mary’s is always half empty.

The food was ok but the cost to quality is low — we had a small pizza, salad, and eggplant and the total was about $ 30.(No pasta with the eggplant???). Not many choices in Cloverdale, but I’ll go elsewhere when I’m in town. Dined in for lunch. Food was fine and reasonably priced. Had a pizza delivered. Just got in town and called in the order… it was good but not $ 30 good. Tough call since there are only two pizza places in town and you need to drive MILES to get to another town big enough to have a pizza place. I love Cloverdale but you can’t beat the food offerings in Orange County!

I was in town for a half-marathon and was pleased we were staying next door. Pasta loading! I’m sorry to report it didn’t live up to my previous Mary’s experience. The Pomodoro was so bland I acted both black pepper and red chili flakes to liven it up. The kid had a mini pizza(they offer a kids-create-their-own-pizza option but she declined) and the boyfriend had a Hawaiian pizza. Service was neither warm nor cold; perhaps this is why the place was rather quiet for a Saturday night.

We were driving from Mendo to SF and stopped in cloverdale for gas. I saw the advertisement for this and wanted to stop becauce I read a blog from Norcal and she eats at MPS a lot. It always looked good to me. We both had lunch specials. 1 slice of pizza with salad for 6.75. I loved the salad, it had a lot of stuff on it and I loved the homemade ranch dressing. I didnt like the pizza. The crust was good, but the sauce wasnt. t was too thick and tangy, not flavorful either.

I use to work at Marys Pizza Shack when they were just starting their expansion. 20 years later… married with 3 kids I chose this place on our road trip back to the bay area from Eureka. Thought this would be a nice family friendly place to order some decent italian food. After finishing up our dinner, my husband nicely says«we are not going to another Marys Pizza Shack again». Embarrassed, I just smiled and totally agreed! With all the great restauarants close by, we good have gotten a much better italian food and would have happily paid a little bit more. Our waitress was frazzled! But don’t blame her… she was waiting tables, answering phones, cashiering, hostessing and probably washing dishes, too ;). We had to ask for our water 3 times. Other tables who were seated after us received their drinks before us(they had another waiter). Despite being really frazzled, she was really nice and tried to put on a big smile. Food was terrible! My ceaser salad had way too much salad dressing and way too much garlic. Lentil soup was OK. The clam linguini lacked clams. The pizza was mediocore! In fact, my 6 year old son and 4 year old daughter commented that the pizza was too greasy.

My second day of vacation brought me to this place. The inn-keeper(Don) told us that they had great pizza and sandwiches. I expected the usual thoroughfare of chain foods but I was pleasantly surprised and pleased that assumptions were wrong. I wish they had a location in the peninsula because they are really quite tasty. My boyfriend and I started with the calamari which was really excellent. It was lightly breaded with crispy batter(I think it may have been cornmeal based, but I’m not sure) and seasonings. It was fried until it was light, and golden… with a nice give and crunch with every bite. :o) It came with a cocktail sauce that it’s even better when you squeeze in some lemon. It was a great way to start the meal. My boyfriend and I each ordered a «bambino» pizza– personal pan size. What surprised me was that it was larger than I expected and the pizza itself was amazing. I had the Garden Ranch pizza and my byfriend had the Napoletana(with pepperoni too). Holy cow, let me describe this pizza to you: THECRUST: Light, savory, chewy and crunchy… all in in the same bite. it was a refreshing crust because it was so flavorful without being oily or greasy. I think this place has an amazing crust recipe. THESAUCE: On the Ranch pizza, it has a light and tangy ranch dressing sauce that is just heavenly. Don’t imagine ‘Hidden Valley’ ranch dressing but something more flavorful and light. On the Napoletana the marinara was awesome. It had just the right touch of garlic and olive oil, wasn’t sour or too sweet. It was mild and savory… I would have put it on my pasta. TOPPINGS: On the Ranch pizza it came with artichoke hearts, fresh spinich, mushrooms, and garlic. The vegetables on this pizza were so fresh… I didn’t feel any guilt about eating so much pizza. On the Napoletana my boyfriend requested pepperoni to be added. Originally it comes with roma tomates, garlic, and basil. The toppings are prepared in such a way that it doesn’t completely fall of your pizza when you try to move it onto your plate. This was also very good… and the pepperoni wasn’t soggy when it was baked– it came out chewy and crunchy too without being too greasy. I am going to miss this place as(1) they don’t have a location in the peninsula/south bay and(2) their pizzas are just THAT good. Originally I thought that I wouldn’t find anything comparable to Paxti’s(Palo Alto) but with the Garden Ranch pizza… I think I’ve found another. Trust me– the ranch pizza is THAT good.
