Stopped in to check out this brewery on our way back to LA from Yosemite. Sure glad we did! It’s a great little tap room. I really enjoyed their IPAs… Tried the Lancelot, Sir Dankesalot, and the«Hold the door.» All quite good! I’d def stop in again if I’m in the area.

Always an interesting selection of well crafted local brews and friendly staff… order food from neighboring restaurants and enjoy HOP beers while sitting on the patio.

No food but the beer is great! It’s definitely a tasting room. I love the Lancelot If you like lighter beers, I haven’t tried the darker beers and IPAs. Shared bathroom with the restaurant next door but very clean!

These guys are really pros. They brew their own beer and serve at the bar. My favorite so far was the #2.

Pretty cool place. Friendly staff who know their stuff about beer. Like the location. The only downside, wish it was a little bigger.

Good new beers every few months! Small, intimate, draft pub setting. Staff is prompt, fun and knowledgeable. Great place to try a few beers, very inviting. You can order Mother Mary’s from their location!

Great beer. Bring a growler. You are going to want more later. Lancelot is a solid IPA. Rotating taps with tremendous variety for a mom and pop. We have a few local choices for craft brew in the Fresno area and this one is my favorite.

Solid beer and all the bartenders are ciceron qualified at the first level, maybe even more. Get a flight and end with Gwenevere. It’s really damn good.

Nice room and generally a solid list, with relatively friendly staff. My only criticism would be that the menu often tends to be very monotone, for example, when getting a flight, all of the profiles to taste are very similar among many different beer

***Updated*** Review is now 5 stars. Growlers on hand and got the Dark Magic I wanted. There was a new couple of beers on tap. I chose the Bors 6.5% hoppy brown ale. Good beer. Would call it a mix between an IPA and a normal ale. Sweet for the style, smooth, little tart on the back of the throat. Not bad for a one pint’er. Would like it to be a little more carbonated. Still an excellent place to have a few beers… First off, only reason. It’s four stars is due to no available to purchase growlers. My own fault for not being prepared. My wife’s coworker who lives in the area suggested this place while we’re here in town. And I was not disappointed. We walk in the place(which apparently one of the first craft brewers in town) and had the atmosphere of a nice little bar. Good looking décor, semi rustic, very welcoming. The place is very small. Maybe by code 30 person max??? Went in mid day and wasn’t packed. Knowledgeable staff and they have merch in my size. Score! Now onto the beers. They have 8 beers on tap and like always, I purchased a sampler(2oz ea). A wheat beer, 2IPA’s, Oktoberfest, porter, Jalapeño Saison, and 2 other lagers. All were very good. The ones I shied away from are the IPA’s. One of those had them so much I need a break type of thing. But they were crisp and refreshing. The lagers and stout were my favorites. And would have purchased a growler and a fill of there«Dark Magic» Schwarzbier Black Lager. But they sold out the growlers . The only questions I asked that the staff didn’t know was the temp and length of conditioning for their lagers. Not enough for me to shy away from. I’ll be back next month and will be sure to bring a growler next time. Hope this helps you in search of your next beer. Cheers!

The beers were good and the guys were nice, BUT… I really, really, really didn’t like how the dude put all the bar stools up on the tables and bar before we were done with our beers, which also happened to be 15 minutes before they closed. That shit takes like 2 minutes. Wait ’til your patrons are gone. I also wouldn’t recommend using 409 to clean your tabletops, because the smell of cleaning products became nauseating. Sweet décor, though.

I found House of Pendragon through a website that lists all of the craft breweries in California. We were staying fairly nearby and planned to loop around to Yosemite Ranch after, so this worked out perfectly. Located in a nondescript strip mall, their taproom isn’t necessarily difficult to find, but it doesn’t stand out either. The inside is a different matter. Awesome wooden tap handles behind a dark wooden bar with not-all-that-comfortable wooden stools facing a backdrop of even more wood. And beer samplers served in a wooden box in baby Belgian glasses. Their website states that the designer used upcycled materials from the brewers’ family farms. They did a nice job. They only had five beers on tap on our visit. A couple that I was hoping to try weren’t on. I guess they don’t update their website tap list in real time. We decided to try all five – American Lager, Agravain Amber, Lancelot IPA, French Saison, and Arthur. My favorite was the Agravain. For an amber, it was quite deliciously hoppy. Outside of that, nothing really stood out, but everything tasted as expected. The lager wasn’t bad considering I’m not a lager fan, the IPA started smooth with a bitter finish, the saison was solid, and by the time I reached Arthur, the bitterness got a bit much for me. The only real negative was that they had run out of some of their merchandise. I guess some guy came in last week and wiped them out. I really wanted one of their cute Belgian tasting glasses and maybe a hat. Oh well. My girlfriend still got me their sweet metal growler.

House of Pendragon(HOP) does beer right, and is bar none the best brewery in Fresno County. Their Taproom usually has 6 or so HOP beers on draft, and there are no guest handles, just all local varying HOP styles. Lancelot, their flagship IPA is perfectly balanced — well hopped, but a nice crisp, malt finish makes this beer a standout. The beers tend to lean to the hoppy side, which is great for me, but while sitting at the bar, I heard a lot of ‘What’s your lightest beer?’ This may not be your kind of place if you’re looking for some silver bullets. The interior is very well done. Rustic wood from a barn re-purposed int the bar and counter tops, Wine barrel tables, and wood mosaic on the walls give HOP a very modern but comfortable look. There’s also large flat screen on the wall that displays the beer on tap, alcohol percentage, and IBU’s. There’s no food available, but you can order from the Mother Mary’s menu which is right next door, which is nice. Finally, it appears that they’ve been working extra hard at keeping beer on tap. Initially, I’d drop in and lots of their beers were tapped out. It took me quite some time before I was able to try the IPA, but now it’s always on. Keep up the fine job, HOP!!!

Busy Friday night, well the bar was full at least. Four of us found a table. Sat down, waited. A few minutes one of us got up walked to the bar to look for a menu came back empty handed. Waited a few more minutes, no staff said a word. Not a greeting, hello, be right there or even have you been here before. We just walked out without a word. Disappointing.

GREAT beer. AWESOME staff. The beer servers are knowledgeable and friendly and they always remember you if you’re the type to sit at the bar and hold a conversation. Also, I don’t know if it’s just coincidence, but I’ve noticed all of the other patrons in here always seem to be real friendly also. I guess the people that drink here are just good people. The tasting room doesn’t serve food itself, but they allow you to order appetizers through the connection to Mother Mary’s next door.

Awesome beers, great atmosphere. I don’t drink beer often, but when I do, it’s the good shit. People complaining about how to order etc etc. People!!! Take the bulls by the horns, take your ass up to the bar and order like you own the bish! Don’t expect to be waited on hand & foot. The service was great, granted I went full force and asked a whole bunch of questions, but if you don’t ask, you’ll never know right?! And that is why I was served promptly! Lady was friendly, answered all my questions and even brought out some little bar snacks for us to munch on while we drank away.. Prices are great. Samplers are even more awesome. Happy hour after 10. Check their website to see what they have prior to going. The first time I went they had a tons of beers on tap, 8 believe. Second time around there were maybe only 6. Regardless, great beers and friendly service. However, they don’t accept American Express. Boo. My favorite was Coco Crusader, bring it back please! The Habanero beer was good too. Smoky and spicy, ay caraba! Definitely will be coming back!
